DIY 90’s Ford LCD/PSOM Gauge Cluster Repair!
Thanks for checking the video out! The purpose of this video is to repair my Instrument cluster in my 1994 Ford F350. Over time the LCD polarization layer delaminates, and disconnects from the display and basically renders it un-readable. Fortunately, after a TON of research, I was able to discover a cheap way to restore the contrast on the display using a new, self-adhesive polarization layer for it. The principle of replacing the actual polarization layer is the same for any car, truck, or even motorcycle with a similar issue. Any idea how its performing that 5k limiter with the sta pin high? Is it a fuel cut like the standard limiter?
It launches REALLY well with the 4500rpm limiter. As far as I can tell, it’s spark cut, causing the excess fuel and making flames. The second the button is released, the engine takes off like a bat out of hell! Hope this helps!

@@Lastcall115 I did! I wish I added it to the video but it was melted around the shaft and basically locked up unfortunately. That’s 100% why the engine overheated. As I’ve stated before I think people who own these engines should take the precaution on looking at the gauge every once in a while to make sure it isn’t getting hot. If you do that this engine will literally run forever! Thanks for watching!
I got a clutch pedal from a 02 celica for 15 bucks from a junkyard. It looks like it might work with a couple of washers and a long bolt for the top mounting point. If it doesn’t work oh well. It’s very hard to find parts lol
Technically any Toyota clutch pedal could work if it was fwd with the master cylinder directly mounted it just all comes down to the fitment of it really.
Interesting. I'm on the opposite end of the build with the V6 camry (Bolt ons and ECU flashed). Curious to see what you find.
@@omarrod71 next go around will be to run it on the Dyno with the rest of the exhaust unbolted to see if that is the reason why it’s still at 250whp. I genuinely don’t think the stock headers are the restriction, but rather the rest of the exhaust is. The Dyno shop has been slammed and every time I go he’s doing me a favor, so I’ve just been waiting for the right time to go
@@WiseGuyzGarageyeah headers were the biggest pain in the butt to find that would work. I'm not certain from the y pipe back there will be much gain. But hey you're testing it so we're going to find out. I ended up having a exhaust shop gutt the cats on the stock headers. R9K has tunes for the platform if you get his handheld tuner or you can get the ECU reflashed by him. But some guys are going with VF Tuner.
Who makes a tune for the car?
I got this tuned from Frankenstein Motorworks. I know for certain he does not mess with ecus on cars that aren’t manual transmission swapped unfortunately. You can use an early rav4 ecu and swap 4 pins around for the vvt actuators!

Around 13.5-13.7 ish give or take. A bone stock auto has done 13.99

The speedo pulls the speed from the abs pump!
@ thats cool, ive never heard of that but Im not surprised. On my little brothers lexus gs300, its speed sensor based so you can do anything and the speedometer will always work😎
@ yup! Makes it super easy. If your transmission has a speed sensor in it you don’t need to use that, the cars gauge works without it!
@ thank you, and dors it start as is or do you have to bypass the neutral safety switch under the shifter like on a 90s civic? Also how did you align the clutch. Its hard because theres no throwout bearing to align it with
@@JamesAnderson-fw5ew They should include an alignment tool for the clutch disk in the pack with it. The neutral safety switch does need to be bypassed. We wired it in exactly like the factory did for a 07 camry. If you look up 07 camry electrical wiring diagram, it shows a section in the pdf as "sarting". Ignore the v6 side, and wire the neutral safety switch into the clutch pedal switch like how it is for the 4cyl camry.
Loving this series. I did the Y-pipe and modified the stock intake 8 months ago. I can confirm your mods and the power. I'm very much looking forward to your next videos. BTW 2011 GSV40. I stayed with the stock intake because I need the cold air intake as it gets up do 45C here in Australia, it is well calibrated to the intake harmonics, but I added a K&N flat panel and removed the intake flap before the airbox. The police can be quite strict here, so I'm keeping it a sleeper. Open the bonnet and the engine looks stock. More mods to come. 😊

Same platform as this car! You only need to figure out a center console cover, otherwise it be the same process!

You can definitely swap the manual in the sienna, the issue is only the shifter mount location and clutch pedal. The pedal location is totally different for the sienna. I’ve heard you can add a secondary master cyl and use a Scion XA pedal attached to the brake pedal.

@@WiseGuyzGarage absolutely! Friend of mine had a 98 Econoline sleeper with those EXACT seats in them, super comfy. If they kept the original rails on it, there should be a lever to pull, and the passenger seat can swivel 180 degrees!

What's the hp increase with the exhaust only?
So far, we haven’t seen any true gains with the exhaust, it’s at around 250whp at the moment
I am currently gathering parts to 5 speed swap my 2011 2AR Camry. I got a scion TC 5 speed since the bell housings are supposedly the same the only difference being the final drive. I’ve done hours of research and your video has been very helpful, I will most likely be referencing it a lot.
@@graydennsteadt5295 heck yeah! You will need all of the same parts basically. The flywheel of course grab from a 2AR or 2AZ, they are the same. The bell housings are for sure the same. You NEED the 2AZ cv axle carrier, and just use your stock 2ar cv axle on that carrier and you’ll be fine. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

@@boqa25 I sure do! Just keep an eye on the temp is the only thing. This engine looked brand new inside otherwise. Absolutely 0 signs of any visible wear besides the parts exposed to excessive heat. This engine would go forever if you don’t drive it when it’s overheating lol.

E350,e351, etc are really cheap and plentiful! Swap it out for that style trans!

@@NTGatVE It really isnt bad, you just need to drill the housing for the shifter lever thats really it. Everything else is plug and play!

My wife’s 07 Camry se 2gr v6 is an auto I’ve beat 2 challenger r/t 5.7 hemis one auto one stick. A tuned lbz duramax. Stock tune stock engine bay I did muffler And resonator deletes on it full exhaust left the cats it’s loud sounds amazing drones really loud in highway but tones can be changed with tips I also think cat less would get rid of drone idk maybe not.
My wife’s 07 Camry has full custom exhaust with cats you should give it a listen in my shorts

Unfortunately yes it is being sold. It isn't my car, its my cousins car. He joined the navy a few months ago, and he is moving to another state. The issue resides where he can only bring 1 car with him. He doesn't have the room for the Celica anymore sadly.

hey brotha, im just trying to maintain my 2gr. i think im starting to get piston slap from my vvti. happens quite frequent when starting for a second or 2. i plan to replace my oil pump line to all metal. any recommendations to lines and anything to build oil pressure?
@@dolanwae2718 I don’t believe VVT causes piston slap itself, piston slap happens when the skirt of the piston develops wear and wobbles in the bore. I would most definitely swap to the hard line man. The soft line is a ticking time bomb!!! I’m doing an experiment right now with my 2GR in my mr2 to run the vavloline restore and protect oil! It’s suppose to clean out the inside of the engine and help get rid of carbon deposits and things along that nature. I’m going to do an update video on it soon. Maybe if you want you can try that with me! I’ve heard you need to do oil changes sooner because the oil pulls so much debris out of the engine rapidly. Thanks for watching!

If I were you I would start with the v6. There is a bunch of chassis integration stuff involved with the v6 swap that overcomplicates the swap immensely. The condenser and ac lines for example are different, as well as the radio and a bunch of wiring too. I hope that helps!

Unfortunately I did not use any instruction manual during the tear down of this. The engine is long gone at this point and thrown away. I can at least suggest Toyotas tech website. It’s like 20 bucks for 3 days and you can download literally every single manual you could ever need!!
what shifter should i buy that connect to the pioneer cables ??
The shifter cables and shifter from a 2002-09 Camry will work. the shifter will be offset with the 02-06 Camry shifter. 07-09 is shifted vertically and slightly forward on an angle if that makes sense? You can buy that still from Toyota directly!

Sure would. Every e351 from 02-09 are interchangeable!
