In the annotations at 0:31, I wrote "first verse" for the sanae motif , which should be the "A melody" or "A section" . I have no idea why i labeled it as first verse when there are no lyrics😅

Here are my amatuer analysis! (woo I never studied anything about musical theory lmao feel free to correct me hahahaha) - The most noticable thing is that the inital hype/energy is absent, like the percussion from the original is now in favour of the chords (I think they're broken chords?). I think you accomplished what you set out to do (epic and tense,-> mellow yet passionate) very well. Imo it gives me a feeling of melancholy - up until the 3 min mark. - I liked the leitmotif (I think it's a leitmotif?) there at around 4:27. Took me a second to realize it was a reference to Reverse Ideology. - Oh yeah and uh - idk if I'm being a bit silly by saying this, but I don't think the second half was so much as bad, as it was perhaps not linked up well, if that makes any sense. The contrast felt like it was playing right after the dialog, and I liked the dynamic change. I suppose it's 'cause I cannot hear any key change (slight tone-deafness) but you get the gist. - I'm not familiar with Elegies, but I thought it was a form of literature. Welp, gotta go find out I suppose.

Sounds like cafe music, doesn't it? Fitting for the romantic-esque thing hoyo has going for Fontaine. Fun fact! After I saw the live symphony of Fontaine on my feed, I got into the OST. And wow, first of all, there are a lot. But from the few I listened to, I do have a favourite (other than the main theme) . It was "Rondeau des fleurs et des rapieres" and I suppose I am just biased to the piano spam- sorry descending quavers, but it was fantastic lol.

As promised, here are my results! (Part 1, I did two versions of this) Methodology: I had a account with no watch history, and made a playlist of every touhou original arrangement from this channel, and then pressed shuffle on it, immediately switching tabs afterwards. I checked with the watch history afterwards. *Please note that not all of the pieces were heard, this is just a selection of them* guess: song of the night sparrow answer: Nazrin's theme (unfinished) guess: Maiden's Capriccio ~ Dream Battle answer: a maiden's resplendent joy guess: Candid Friend answer: faith is for the transient people guess: the loudest part melody recongizable, but on the tip of my tongue answer: the idyllic memories of japan the girl remembered guess: Koishi's theme, I adore the harmony, the melody is seamlessly incorporated answer: Koishi's soundscape guess: Kaguya's theme, I got it from the very beginning. I think it is because it's one of my favorites on the piano so I got a lot of exposure. answer: kaguya in space guess: ultimate truth answer: ultimately, this is truly a chromatic descent guess: I've definitely heard this one many times before, but I always treat it as a totally seperate piece. Despite this, the melody is one of the most distinctly touhou out of them all. There's a section that sounds pretty identical with the original. answer: shinra-bansho Evaluation: Well, that was embarrassing. I thought I knew better, but alas. Out of the 7 pieces, I got 4 correct, and I highly suspect RUclips was sending me the ones I heard the most. This is why I believe the methodology was flawed from the beginning. Next time, I will ask a friend to make one in random order - that may be more accurate of a test. I think I'll send the second part next time, as this comment is way too long lol (sorry for yapping)
