Congrats on the 51 Berk Ross Joe D. That sportscaster card is also so cool
@@TJ_Is_Online Thank you Tony! I just got in the mail a 1937 Wheaties Series 8 of Joe D., but that’s it for awhile!
Hi Rick. You have an incredible run of DiMaggio Cards. Really nice pickup in Philly, the 40 Play Ball is a beauty. Both the 51 Berk Ross Panel and 52 Berk Ross have to be my favourite. Thanks for sharing my friend. All the best over the holidays pal.
@@RipFan8 Thanks Stephen! I am very happy with my recent pickups! Thanks for your support this year! Hope you have a very Merry Christmas! Rick
Gave a video like. Awesome Joe DiMaggio cards! Really great Exhibit card, those are so neat! Thanks for sharing, Rick
@@Hodges1455 Thanks again Brian! Appreciate it!
Hey Rocket…I’ve been an admirer of your channel for awhile now. I enjoy your passion and knowledge for the game of baseball as well as your collections representation. Believe it or not I’m also a fan of your mellow cadence when delivering information and your “soothing senior moments”. I am beginning to relate with that. Your channel is like the easy listening jazz channel of baseball cards. With that said, I wanted to send you a thank you gift as I have one copy of the Who’s Who in Baseball publication. It happens to be the 1928 copy (Thirteenth addition) with Hack Wilson on the cover. Seems to me this copy should be included as part of a collection owned by those who really value the publication and will treasure it as part of a larger collection. Let me know if you’re open to receiving it and we’ll exchange information so I can send it to you. And last…I appreciate your kindness at subscribing to my channel. Honestly, I didn’t even know I had one and have had no intentions on showing my small collection of cards but I’d be happy to send you a picture of a curated project I put together in my office that reminds me of my Dad and Grandfather as baseball was always a common denominator between us and Vin Scully the transistor radio audio bed that many of our conversations took place over. Thanks Rocket 👍
Enjoyed seeing you Joe DiMaggio collection! Great cards! Thank you for the mention.
@@stuke1976 Credit where credit is due! Thanks Scott!
Very nice collection of the Clipper
@@jpwiscobaseballcards1192 Tony, thanks a bunch! I really appreciate your comments and support!
Sweet collection of Joe ❤️
Thank you for watching my video and taking the time to comment! I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to visiting your channel!
Rick, this is so awesome! Indeed, I do hope we are 38 Goudey Joe DiMaggio clubbies someday, whether or not you go for the Cartoon version! WOW! I loved seeing the premier of your 1940 Play Ball #1 Joe DiMaggio! '39, '40, AND '41 Play Ball Joe DiMaggio's!!! 🤩🤩🤩Oh man, the '49 Leaf Joe DiMaggio! Rick, you are bringing all the DiMaggio fire in one video! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Well, based on your title, I should have been ready for it! 😂👍What an absolutely glorious Joe D collection you are putting together! Congrats, my collecting brother, on adding a super sweet 1940 Play Ball Joe D! 🤯🤯🤯Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! 🎄🎄🎄
Adam, the more I learn about Joe D, the more I appreciate what he must have meant to the Yankees! What a segue from the Iron Horse to the Yankee Clipper! Thank you for the inspiration to collect him in earnest! The pure joy evident on your face and in your carriage when you first showed your '38 Goudey was truly inspirational! Thank you for watching and commenting my collecting brother!
@@Rocketrickj18 Rick, I am honored by your kind words, my friend! 😊👊
Rick, WOW! Just ONE CARD away from completing the iconic 1952 Topps Set, minus the high numbers! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! 🎄🎄🎄
Frank Campos, where are you!
Great cards Rick, incredible collection. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Orlando! Looking forward to Strongsville where I look to add a '40 Play Ball Ted Williams (and maybe 1 or two other cards)!
Congrats on building such a fantastic DiMaggio collection Rick.
Thank you Sammy for being such a good friend! I look forward to many more years in the hobby! To Strongsville in April and beyond!
Hey Rocket…beautiful DiMaggio collection. I didn’t know you had that entire collection in your bag. I had never seen that Berk Ross panel card before. So cool! Thanks for sharing them. 👍
Thanks Todd! I just subscribed to your channel in the hopes you will make some videos featuring your collection, your collecting style, and your collecting aspirations!
Very nice collection of Joe D cards. Now all you need is a playing days card of Marilyn Monroe. 😊 Thanks for the presentation Rick. Congratulations on the Play Ball sets. Merry Christmas Buddy🎄
Merry Christmas to you and your family my friend! You know, at the Philly show I ran across a dealer who had the first issue of Playboy. I immediately thought, "I wonder if Joe had an autographed copy!" Thanks again for the wonderful vintage boxing card of the "Irish Giant" from so many years ago!
What a wonderful collection. Thank you for sharing. Joe has so many fantastic cards.
Thank you for watching and commenting! It means so much to get the feedback!
Awesome 👏 my friend 🎉
Thanks Ken, as always!
Hi Rick. Really nice pickups my friend. I know my buddy Mike (Canadian Cards), will like seeing that boxing cards. So happy to see you just 1 card away from completing the 52 Topps set. Nice Skenes rookie cards, looks to be a star. Thanks for sharing my friend, talk soon pal,
Stephen, Thanks to you for watching and commenting! I think Skenes is the real deal! I am going to do an update of my "52 Topps collection whenever I get the Frank Campos card (I am bidding on one now, so, if you're interested in me achieving this goal, don't run up the price on me (lol)!
I really like the '64 Topps Frank Robinson. A great card of a great player! Happy holidays to you and your family, Rick.
Thanks Andrew! I appreciate your comments, as always! I hope you have a wonderful and happy Holiday Season!
Rick great pickups. Really like your insight on cards. Look forward to more videos. Hope to meet you in Strongsville
Joe, thank you for the comment and the encouragement! Let's make a point of getting together in Strongsville!
Gave a video like. Great Munson and Frank Robinson cards!! Nice '52 Topps pick-ups too. Fun seeing all those Paul Skenes additions as well!
Thanks, Brian, for watching and especially for taking the time to comment! It is much appreciated!
Rick, you are really doing well on completing that 1952 Topps set. Nice Munson & Frank Robinson. I really like that '64 Robinson pose. Personally, I think it's one of his better cards.// FYI, One of my goals for 2025 is to take you down some alternative collecting rabbit holes with me. 😀 Merry Christmas Buddy. 🎄
I look forward to your achievement of that hobby goal my friend! I don't collect many player runs, but I have admired Frank Robinson since his time with the Reds. I don't think he was treated very well in Cincinnati. I agree with you regarding the '64 Topps card!
Real nice Munson rc. Sure hope he gets in the hall
Could not agree more Mike! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi Rick, nice additions. I like the purple letters on the Reds and Athletics cards in the 64 set. Not a color you see often on cards from that era. Thanks for sharing.
Terry, thanks for watching and commenting! I know this is a very busy time of year with the holidays, but I have been thinking it is about time for one of our in-depth explorations of the state of the hobby and our respective collections! Let me know if you have any time to fit one in!
Glad you enjoyed the Tommy Henrich. Great round of pickups!!!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting Brad! Tommy Henrich was such a great "clutch" player! I have several autos of him now!
Great pickups Rick, congrats.
Thanks Orlando! I always look forward to hearing from you whenever I post a new video!
Hello my friend
Thank you Ken!
Rick, your Mickey Diamonds Stars card might not have met the minimum size, but it meets the maximum eye appeal! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩Oh, those DiMaggio's are absolutely glorious! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯There is something super special about every playing-days Joe DiMaggio card! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Soon, you will have completed the low-number 1952 Topps! WOW, what an epic accomplishment! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Happy Holidays, my collecting brother! ❄🎄❄🎄❄
@@vintagesanctuary I have developed a new Appreciation for Joe! He has so few playing days cards and a couple of them are very expensive!
Awesome video, Rick! Thanks for the shout-out! I paid just a smidge above 300 for that card!😂😂 I'm glad you were there, my friend!
Rick- once again another terrific video. Making great progress on the 52 set.
Enjoyed the video Rick! Nice 1952s, nice gift from Stephen, good HOF discussion.
@@stuke1976 Thanks for watching and sharing Scott!

@@Hodges1455 Thanks as always for watching and Brian! Your comments brighten my day!

@@Valuevintagecards-Aaron Thanks for your comments Aaron!
Hi Rick. So glad those Mickey items found the right home. Congrats on your additions to the 1952 Topps. Love those pickups you made, all very sharp cards. Great shout outs. I`ve seen both Billy and Rob`s channels, will have to check out Shannon`s. Thanks for sharing my friend, I really enjoy watching and hearing your thoughts. Talk soon pal.
@@RipFan8 Thanks as always Stephen!
A lot of guys aren’t very fond of the 41 Double play, but I have to say, I like them. With the DiMaggio being one of my favorites. I really appreciate the shout out Rick. Have a great weekend my friend.
@@backtothecardboard if I’m honest, I didn’t care for them for a long time either. However, there are so few playing days Joe DiMaggio cards available, or Ted Williams cards for that matter, and very, very few 1941’s, you can’t afford to pass them up! And, they do grow on you the more you look at them. You deserve all the credit Shannon!
Great cards Rick, Stephen is an awesome guy. Congrats on the pickups
@@ACollectorsDream Thanks Orlando!
Great video! I would love to see Tiant get in. He actually started Game 6 of the '75 Series but had pitched so much that postseason that he wasn't as effective as in Games 1 & 4.
Great shoutouts. Cool cards and stories
I am with you on a lot of these worthy players. Dick Allen more so. Thank for sharing.
Hi Rick. Good selection and very interesting thoughts. Thanks for sharing my friend, talk soon pal.
@@RipFan8 thanks Stephen! Always great to hear from you!
That Berk Ross card! Wow! Cool that it’s Joe D and Hamner, a lesser star. Thx for sharing, Rick.
@@Vintage_Dave_T Thanks Dave for watching and commenting!
I loved getting a sneak peak of this tranche of cards in Garfield. It's a really impressive collection, Rick!
Gave a video like. Loved hearing your view on Dick Allen. Great rookie card as well. Enjoyed this episode! Thanks for sharing, Rick
@@Hodges1455 Hey Brian! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I totally agree with your picks
@@LouRokTV Thanks Lou! I hope we’re right!
Dick Allen is my top hope for the Hall this year. Great job talking about his background. He is a great example for all of us. Of weathering the storm and still working hard. Thanks Rick.
@@The_Cincinnati_Kid Thanks CK! I agree!
@ Dick wore a mustache in baseball when almost all other players didn’t. Not sure if he was bucking the rules. But he did it his way.
Thanks for sharing your votes Rick. I would pick Parker, Allen and Boyer. I also think Tiant and Garvey. WAR has its pros and cons. Garvey was an exceptional playoff performer which seems to have little meaning in HOF discussions compared to other sports. If I was looking to win a big game Garvey is right up there as a first baseman. I can’t get there on the others for the HOF. I hope all is well.
@@tjmacvintagecardsnostalgia648 I watched the HOF livestream on @rayfromphilly channel. Before watching I didn’t really know anything about John Donaldson. They convinced me. Up til then, Boyer was my third pick. I saw a lot of Willie Stargell in the 70’s. He’s my favorite from that time. I never warmed up to Garvey. I would take Willie over him in the situation you described, e.g. Game 7 of the 1979 WS. Hope all is well with you and I hope we get 2 in this year!
Thanks for the enjoyable presentation Rick. // My 3 votes would be Allen, Donaldson, & Boyer; although it's hard to decide on just three. // By the way, I sent a text to your cell number.
@@concretebuddy59 You’re right, it is hard to pick just three from this group!
Nice picks
@@peterb4871 Thanks Peter!
Great video Rick! Good points, hope we get 3 guys in this year.
@@stuke1976 Thanks Scott! I hope so too, although it is rare to get that many from this committee (or its predecessor).
Great pickups Rick! Your Ted Williams Exhibit is 1946 if the Made in USA is 9/16" wide, if it's 5/8 wide then 1948-51, if it's Printed in USA and 21/32 and "Printed" is under half a shoe, it's 1958, if "Printed" under an entire shoe, it's 1959 or 61. Great shoutouts.
@@stuke1976 Thanks Scott! I’ll check when I get back home Sunday and let you know!
It's the only joe D card I could afford. I bought a few back a couple of years ago. It's nice it's in your video! Because ""the more you know """
