    Not nice but let’s remember how Blackstar started. A group of breakaway employees from Marshall. Thomas Blug is a small business that prides itself on its owners understanding and wizardry knowledge of amplification. I hope he can take them to the cleaners, sue them up hill and down dale Thomas! God only knows what they were thinking? Like many others my loyalty is with Thomas, I will never buy a Blackstar product!

    Guitars sent to distributors (Long & McQuade for example) are able to acclimate to the region (hotter/colder) then get set-up and checked over. It's a great service and keeps up on the quality assurance. Buying and having the guitar shipped (climates are very different even within 500miles). So shipped guitars can have issues due to wood shrinking/expanding as it travels across countries.

    It is not just in the future, depending on where you are, it is now. I am right in the middle of Germany (Frankfurt) and since our last local tube amp expert, the great Thomas Reußenzehn passed away, just as it happened with our only great guitar tech (Peter Coura) as few years earlier, you can not get anything done here. I have to drive 60 miles to get a guitar pot changed - and since the few good technicians are completely booked, my last pot swap took 7 weeks. I have a problem with a Fuchs ODS II amp since three years. I emailed 11 amp repair shops throughout Germany with a full problem description and schematics, and have not received one single reply - they don't want it, as they most likely can't handle it. If you email the same companies for an overhaul and a tube change, you get a reply within minutes, offering the most esoteric magical tube sets for hundreds of Euros.

    Henning, what you are missing about the brands is, that in electronics it is about the design of the original product. As long as this does not change (because parts are not available anymore), it is easy to produce the same product you loved in the past also in the future, with different people, different factories, ... (might be that the quality control is bad or that the company is less yield, which then you need to decide whether it is worth doing the QC for the company). So, if I want the old Marshall or a AKG C414, then buy still from the company that holds the original design. This does usually not leave with the people, it is the companies intellectual property. At the end, it is all about the product, not the company, the logo, nor the people that counts. If I have the choice between several products that serves my purpose the same way, then I can have a look at the people behind to choose the right one from an ethical point of view (or personal point of view or costs or whatever you might rank the highest). But just because I like some people, I will not buy their product. Neither, will I buy a new AKG or Marshall design just because of the brands name, if the product is not what I am looking for. The ethical point of view can also be completed decoupled here and it is totally fine not to buy from any brand that behaves unethically - period (as some people do not buy from amazon for this reason).

  • @SlimeyGuitarStrings
    @SlimeyGuitarStrings 23 дня назад

    One of the reasons I like Henning's channel is that I enjoy how much thought goes into the video and how thorough he is. If I am seriously considering a piece of gear, he and Philip McKnight are my go-to channels to help try to accurately understand the product. I also remember when he had his student on some videos. He's right, that comment section was bad. I despise that youtube promotes people using clickbait titles because in 6 months there isn't a way to find that video. I remember talking to some other people about a youtuber who focuses on newer players and he made a video about how important it was to learn to play using triads on the e, B, and G and why that's so important and nobody teaches beginners that. I tried to point people to that video but I couldn't find it because it was lost in the sea of clickbait. Like me and 3 other people all tried finding the video and couldn't find it. RUclips needs to allow creators to make a clickbait title for a week or whatever and then it reverts to a descriptive title.
