@ 11:34 , how did you get the sun to look like that ??
Mostly by playing with different values in the Sky Atmosphere actor. You can get some really varied and great results! To make the sun itself much bigger, on your Directional Light actor increase the Source Angle parameter.
Does it support VR?
@@artspam7884 Yes, if you're able to comfortably run the default volumetric fog it will also run Ultra Volumetrics volumes =)

Yes, it's compatible with Ultra Dynamic Sky =) In the first video of the tutorial series (getting started), at the end there is a little segment about using it with Ultra Dynamic Sky.

Hey! There's a few things it could be. Make sure that volumetric fog is turned on in the exponential height fog actor and that shadows is set to high. i love this im thinking of buying it, is this compatible with the ultra dynamic sky from the marketplace? i was thinking of putting this and ultra dynamic sky on the same scene and hoping there will be no problems in the process

Yes, add the character or object with the third person component to sequencer and you're good to go! If you need any help let me know =)
Love the BP! However, is there a way to keep showing the fog as the camera goes through it? I set the Near Distance to 0 and no go..
Hi, glad you like it! I'm not entirely sure what you mean, can you show me an example? =) If you mean specifically in this third person example, then it could be that the radius of the third person component is large enough to reach the camera. Otherwise there are also some settings to check in the Exponential height fog where you'll find a start distance and fade distance in the volumetric fog section, make sure those are 0 as well.
how lightweight/optimize is this
It's quite optimized, especially if you decrease the overall volumetric fog quality. But it depends on what you're creating and which platform you are targeting. To be on the safe side, I wouldn't recommend it for mobile games. But volumetric fog in general is probably not recommended for that either. Let me know if you want more info!

The "player 2" (NPC) lighting of torch should be "on component being/end overlap" with a set volume (box collision e.t.c.). Nice to see the improvements to the system.
I considered it, but adding another component and setting up the logic would've been more steps. But perhaps it would've been a better example. Appreciate the suggestion, thanks!

welp...unzips pants... guess i might as well get the wallet out and get the humblebundle this month. much better fog shader than the one i created. that paint mode is killer. wait. why did i unzip my pants to get my wallet?
interesting, but I find it odd how much shadow the fog is receiving when not in the light... which might just be a setting. But it looked like smoke in some areas at first
Yes, this is more of a stylistic choice and can be turned off/lowered. Sometimes fog can look rather dull when there isn't much geometry that casts volumetric shadows onto the fog. For the purpose of these videos i've also greatly exaggerated the fog opacity which makes it resemble smoke, which can be a use case. I've used it in a video i'll be releasing soon to resemble smoke from a fire in a burning building. It can also resemble a gas of some kind, with a creative mind you could probably come up with more use cases.

Ok very nice. So I have a question - if I use UDS and already have a volumetric fog that I like but I'd like to add another one like this in a specific area flowing in a specific direction at a specific time of day is that possible?
Certainly! Though that kind of integration with UDS is not included out of the box. You can however update Ultra Volumetrics actors during runtime by calling the UpdateParameters function. If you can grab the time of day from UDS it would be quite easy to do, all you have to do is change the Opacity and Panning speed parameters at the right time.

Hello, the fog disappears when I take the camera back at a distance. Is there a solution to this?
Hi! Yes, certainly! You can adjust the 'Far Fade Distance' parameter on an Ultra Volumetrics actor but more importantly in the Exponential Height Fog actor there is a parameter called 'View Distance' in the volumetric fog section and that parameter determines the view distance for all volumetric fog. By default it is set to 6000 and I recommend not pushing this too high as it will decrease performance and volumetric fog quality. Good luck!

Hi! Most likely it's either still compiling shaders or something relating to volumetric fog hadn't been activated. Make sure that 'Volumetric fog' is turned on in the Exponential height fogband that shadow quality is set to High in the scalability settings. Let me know if you require more assistance! Good luck

i love your fog There is a problem with the fog product you are selling. Your demo level map shows fog correctly. but when I put your fog on another new level map, the fog doesn't show up, why? please help me. I'm using UE5.1.
Glad you like! Are you sure that there is an exponential height fog actor in your level with volumetric fog turned on? Take a look at the documentation to be sure you followed the correct steps.
Very nice! would it be possible to create bullet hits and smoke grenades with this as a substitute for flipbook animations? One of my pet peevs is how smoke and dust don't linger long enough in first person shooters. Could this be a solution?
Thank you! For smoke grenades it's perfect! I'm currently working on a Counter Strike 2 style smoke grenade. You could use it for bullet hits but it's a bit heavy handed I would say and probably not good for performance.
will interaction be added in the future? such as leaving a trail through fog as things run through it

Man this looks so promising. How does it run with 5.2 ? Im currently building a dark fantasy game and the demo block out map for it is foggy but its mostly just inserts from a partical effect just placed all over..would be nice to have more control tho.
