Regarding bosses in video games, I used to hate them but for some reason and this is a weird one, when the York New arc in Hunter x Hunter didn't even have an actual fight between Chrollo and Kurapika, I never truly realized how important bosses in games are or just having any story based around action making sure it has a climatic showdown. So I've come to be very appreciative of the concept. All though the thing is, some genres are more malleable to having bosses than others for example, shooters and horror games or both combined tend to have very weak bosses, there are some exceptions but generally speaking neither really mold well for boss fights. Stealth games outside of maybe the first Aragami is already hard to mold bosses around due to the very concept of bosses and stealth being at odds with each other. Lots of 3D games and as much I love a good number of them suffer from weak bosses since they rely on group fights or are just more fun when fighting hordes. 2D games fare better as a whole. However, I never truly realized how terrible bosses can be when done poorly and can piss me off as much as Slave Zero X which I played recently. The end boss of Zone 3 is one of the worst I ever fought, his grab move has no visual or audio cue and you can't dodge out of it and you loose a lot of health and sent flying across the map. His attacks are hard to read and getting hit at all makes you loose a lot of health and he's a massive damage sponge. I won against this dude at all because I got lucky and stun locked him before his armor can regen, if a game makes me feel like I got lucky instead of because of skill then the game designer has failed at making a reasonable challenge, oh wait, that's basically Slave Zero X in a nutshell.

If anyone reading this was looking for a good mobile game, I will always suggest "King God Castle" and you've likely not heard about it because they don't do much for advertising. To summarize it, it is a PvE Auto Battler where you bring a team of 6 heroes to put into the "Summoning Pool" to gain 1* copies, which you can then merge into 2*, then 3*, etc to 7* The goal is to defend against 20 waves of growing power enemies with your heroes, merging and equipping them with items you gain every few rounds. Now it DOES have a gacha system, but wait! The heroes are of One Rarity...None. You have equal chance to get any of the 60 heroes in the game and they're all usable in the stages because out of levels you have a "Clash Royale" system where you gain EXP from the gacha system to make them stronger. The Gacha can be done with gold you earn from the campaign, meaning you're not forced into using any premium currency to try and level up your units. You can farm as much gold as you have Stamina, and even still there are events that allow you to earn large amounts of gold through a "Golden Horde" sort of thing. Now if the Gacha system still is meh to you, that's fine, but I'd like to basically say I've never spent a dime for the game (Despite the fact I want to support the devs a ton) and I still own every character after 2-3 years of playing. You may think it's because of my time playing...and yeah a bit, but in reality they offer a special summon you can do Once Per Month called "New Hero Summon" that guarantees you get a character you do not own yet. It's fairly expensive using 100 Hero Tokens (Which are used to upgrade your heroes during the final few levels) but at the same time they have an Alchemy system where you can make a set of 10 instantly by smelting some materials DESIGNED for it. If you're looking for an actual F2P Mobile game and are good with auto battlers, this is 100% a good game for you.

Not gonna lie I was expecting more. Huge Zelda fan since NES. Bought the switch just for this game. Never got used to weapons breaking all the time, calamity ganon was way too easy (even my fiancé was surprised), and not being able to continue after beating ganon just pissed me off.

As said in a B4 speculation video: I got late into the franchise a few months after 2 came out, but I bought 1 as it was on sale in the PS shop. I loved it. Played the heck out of it and bought the DLCs. A good story, the whole RPG build aspect and the fact you got your choice of weapons of countless variation intrigued me. That's when I went for 2 and felt it added more humor than the first. Jack was a villain who the term "love to hate" applied and that was quite possibly the reason I enjoyed it. The DLCs were nice but I disliked the UVH mode when you had to get a specific weapon built (I'm looking at you, hacked Grog Nozzle and DPUH) since the enemy HP amunt was outrageous and the fact they regenerated was maddening. Still the storyline was ok. And yes, I was one of the naive summer children who wanted a full game version of the Dragon Keep DLC. Next came Pre-Sequel. Sure we knew what would happen in the end, but I disliked how after everything it built up towards, the storyline of a possible Galactic War, was scrapped in favor of...psychopathic streamers?! At least the Claptrap DLC was one of the best, even though it was the only one.... Tales...the first...was ok. Not something I'd brag but least it drew the curtain on Jack. Unfortunately. 3....by GODS...Just because I was still hoping I bought it. JHC! It stunk more like a toilet that hasn't been flushed for a year! That and the budding DEI initiatives it gave really ruined a good story (and Ava being forced as the next Tina was just the arsenic-flavored cherry on top). Then came Wonderlands. Here I thought it was the full Dragon Keep but instead....I'm actually numb. For me that spelled the end of the Franchise. I washed my hands off it completely. Didn't even NEED to watch that puerile putrification that called itsef a movie and its equally offending New Tales. Gearbox became yet another victim of DEI. Borderlands in its heyday was one of my best memories as it helped me bond with my nephews whom I introduced it to. They loved 1 2 and Pre-quel, were cautious of 3 and hated Wonderlands. When I asked if they wanted to watch the movie, they agreed with my sentiment that it was going to fail. A shame. Just as 2's theme said: No place for a hero.

Nintendo failed to materialize a good open world game because they don't get open world design at all, they failed to understand its principles and what makes it desirable and enjoyable in other games, and it seems like nobody wants to admit it. The point of open world game design is to give players the agency of directing their own experience, by choosing the order with which they will go do the dungeons / quests, and the agency of having action or downtime the moment they want, without the game forcing them an action or downtime part when they don't want to. Open World Design is about giving players agency, it's not about world size nor about forcing the player to traverse long empty distances where nothing happens, before getting to the fun parts of the gane. Nintendo thought that "open world" is just to stretch the world to the point it takes you forever to get from one point of interest to the next, forcing players long downtime sessions before they can get to the parts with action, while you must still play the dungeons of the game in a particular order, as there are huge difficulty spikes from one to the next one. That's just bad design, and completely misses the whole point of making a game open world. It's so bad design in fact, that Tears of the Kingdom fails to offer the two fundamental pros of open world game design: 1. You can't decide the order you will play the dungeons, because they have huge difficulty spikes. 2. You can't direct your game experience by jumping straight into action whenever you want to, because the points on the map where the action happens are so far away from each other, you are forced to have prolonged downtime before getting into action. So as you see, the problem of Tears of the Kingdom isn't Open World as a design formula itself, but that Nintendo completely failed to understand what the principles of Open World Game Design are, which resulted to a fundamentally flawed game. Yes, a game where you have to spend 15 minutes without anything interesting happening at it, like you do when you have to get from one place on the map to the one next to it on foot, with all the space in between being empty, is bad design. It's a design that demands from the player to do a chore for 15 minutes before getting to the fun part, every time.

It's interesting seeing all the opinions people have about the game, positive and negative. I myself had a mostly positive experience with it, but that was after botw conditioned me to think of the game not as a Zelda game, but as a new IP outright. I enjoy both games a lot more when I stop expecting them to play like the Zelda games that came before. I myself actually quite liked the world being the same, and seeing how much had changed, and how much hadn't. To me that was part of the charm, but to others it was a negative. I'm not going to sit here and call the game flawless by any means, but it's a game I do not regret my purchase of even a little, and that's enough for me.

I'm forcing myself through this game. There's fun moments and then incredibly tedious and annoying moments that make me not want to play anymore.

Since it wasn't mentioned in the video and i've seen a lot of people complain about the "different gameplay" ads in the comments. There is 2 Hero wars game. "Hero wars Domination era" (the one in the video) and "Hero wars Alliance" (the one i see the most often in ads).

a hidden gem for me was archero, still trying zo get u to pay, but totally playable without it, u can even get more heroes by just grinding

i played last war : survival for about a month. and the feeling I got from that was there were a lot of professional pay to win gamers who were doing whatever it takes meaning spending a lot of money on upgrades and heroes to feel like a true professional gamer.

THANK-YOU. I finally got around to playing this game after years of "best game ever" and it sucks. It's so grindy and empty. None of the towns or NPCs have any character or reason for staying. The controls are anti-ituitive. Why is the continue button not b? WHY?! On every other controller it's the bottom most button, but not nintendo, NOOOOO. Also if you can only sprint and move the camera with your right thumb, WHY did you make the guardians constantly follow you in CIRCLES?! It makes it impossible to move the camera, see the enemy, and sprint! I know you can target lock, but only if you're looking at the damn thing and you need to hold that trigger down! Let it go and boom, the enemy is at your back now haha SUCKS. Inventory management is a joke. I know you can add more slots with those damn seeds but only once you find Hyrule forest on this MASSIVE map. I'm still technically early game but that's very relative in BOTW, have like 25 hours already; some games are done by then. If i have an inventory full, I have to enter the menu, (1), swipe over to the desired menu (x), find the weapon I want to drop (x) select it (1), scroll to drop (1), click drop (1) and exit menu (1). THAT'S a minum of FIVE inputs to drop ONE weapon and it could be as much as 15 or more. Unbelievebly tedious. Also i have to complete FOUR SHRINES just to level one trait?! There's not exatly a map to these stupid things and finding them should be a reward in and of itself! But nope. Collect four. Yay now I can sprint for 3 more seconds. How rewarding. A tedious, grindy, empty, and altogehter overrated piece of crap.

I was also so hyped for 3 and loved it the first playthrough. but the magic was missing. I couldn't get into it like I could 2. 2 was a master piece that's corpse has been desecrated.

AFK Journey is tedious in the beginning, where neither auto battle nor auto progression is locked for you (in a misplaced sense of "teaching the ropes" imo); once you pass the beginner stage (it is a lot, dont get me wrong, i think you need like a month or two), regular seasons are a lot faster, you dont have to complete any afk stages on your own, instead just let autoprogress run in the background and instead focus your time on the things you mentioned are more fun, like the mini boss dream realm or PvP Arena draft (which is an equalizer draft system, similar to Hearthstone's arena), and the stages unlock on their own in the meantime, meaning you barely ever get stuck on progression at later stages (where you also have accumulated at least one solid team to push you through). Tl;dr: the start's a good chunk of grinding, but eases up a lot once you are out of beginner season

Borderlands 2 has to be the best game I’ve ever played to date although I do find enjoyment in all the titles I find BL3 to be painful to get through but the endgame I do think is very fun and with Wonderlands I feel the writing and no endgame completely ruined it when it had so much potential if they just gave us better Dragon Keep which has to be one of the best DLC’s ever made for a game

Everyone at gearbox needs to watch this before they break our hearts with BL4. Do not put the final nail in the BL coffin y’all.
