    • @AmmieHarris
      @AmmieHarris День назад

      @@asuntahall822 they have for the most part. My older 2 didn’t start out eating as much “ancestral” foods as my youngest but they never had the choice to pick and choose what I served. They ate it or they waited til the next meal. I just never catered to making anything special if they didn’t like the food I prepared! One of my oldest specifically likes to be a little more stubborn with certain meals and may refuse to eat here and there but they know they’ll just have to be hungry til the next meal and I won’t allow a snack. That’s the main key I learned. If they choose not to eat a meal, they don’t get any snacks til the next meal to “tide them over”. If they ask for one, I give them the option to finish the previous meal they didn’t eat and then they can have a snack (usually fruit) or wait til I serve the next meal. Any stubbornness went away real fast because they realized I wasn’t caving. And now for the most part they all eat (most) everything I prepare! Seems kinda ruthless at first but they won’t stave by skipping a few meals and they learn to eat! But they’ve also never had many other foods and they mostly only know this type of stuff!

I'm at the other end of "seasons" with my first 3 (of 8) kiddos moving out within a year of one another, and not to scare anyone who is in the "constantly adding to the family" stage, but this season has been by far the hardest I've ever encountered. This is exactly what we want for our children...to grow and thrive and become amazing adults, but man...I didn't anticipate the giant holes in my heart and watching the younger siblings adapt. We're a super close family, which I am so grateful for, but it has made these major life changes very difficult to navigate.

It gives us about a gallon or gallon half of broth. But I also find we fly through it as well with the cooking we do with it! But I know that a good problem to have! 💕 I haven’t used it yet bc is not sold in my area locally and I’ve just never ordered any, but I know the “fire and kettle” broth had been recommended by many! There are some weeks in the spring/summer I don’t have any in the fridge just if I don’t feel we are needing it as often. But in the fall and winter when we harvest wild game and have lots of bones, I try to keep the broth well stocked!

      love this! thanks for sharing and i started doing the chicken feet trick i think since you're last broth tutorial. i am so grateful you show you just use what have and find ways to manage when you don't. especially with inflation i've been praying about contentment and making due with what we have.
