A Double Job Day On The Outskirts Of London!
You might be seeing Scania R and S series trucks in the US, in the not too distant future. There is an American called Bruce Wilson who has a channel, and he imported a 1986 R series into the US and made videos about it. He caught the attention of Scania, and they made him an agent for Scania, and they have built him a brand new R770 to show around the US. It came off the production line last week, and Scania are working with US authorities to get the truck authorized to drive on US roads. It think it will be in the US late 2024 or early 2025.
Hi John, yes I follow Bruce Wilson on RUclips as well. Interesting times ahead potentially. I think the biggest problem with Scania in the US will be cost due to the precision and technology on them compared to US trucks but fingers crossed!
I'm sorry to hear you are ill. Get well soon
Get well soon Harry.
Always a few bumps along the way but you will soon be over it. All the best as usual, we are willing you on Harry and you are doing yourself and us , proud.🚚🚚👍👍 .
Get better mate
How do you like living in the US do you prefer it to the UK
@@vwgolffancarreviews7111 I love it, it’s taking a bit of getting use to been sat on the other side of the truck compared to the UK and also the otherside of the road. The camber of the road is the other way round to what I am use to so sometimes on the line in LA on the left side! But apart from that I love it, round where I am is fairly quiet, loads of space and really good weather!
Keep your spirits up harry , we are all behind you 👍
get well soon
Oh mate that’s bad news, I hope you get better soon
Glad your ok Harry and keeping us informed how ur doing hopefully they will let you vlog cheers bud, Will

@@craigcunningham4970 Hi Craig, yeh that came a little bit from nowhere there must be a reason for Mr Williams to see something could be happening maybe?
Hi. What location was Wendy’s based at? 😊
Hi Ellie. The Wendy’s is unit 8, Academy Business Park, country Road, Kirby, L33 7AN it’s a new building so not sure if it is open yet 😀
Must be part time Not alot of miles done in 8 years
hi harry look at wee yorkshire trucker ,, hes a brit who works and lives over in the states and always records and posts great vids
Honestly don't apologise for 'lacking videos' there is absolutely no need. Joining you on the journey has been excellent and looking forward to seeing where it goes. When you are up and running by yourself how often will you be home vs staying in the truck?
Hi Shaun. So to start with I will be stopping in the truck full time both in the week and weekends as the company allows the drivers to stop in the truck all weekend if they choose to save on expenses and be able to save money. It will be 3 nights away a week running over 6 days due to the distance to long beach and also LA traffic is horrendous apparently. I will find out today though and it is currently 3am and I am heading out to Long Beach for the first time today with my driver trainer
I put a comment in but put it on Opapa99s comment by mistake, sorry.
No worries Peter - Tim (Harrys dad replying). Give DaVinci a try - the free version which is what we use is brilliant, very stable and quality software.
Onwards and upwards Harry. Nice one
Thanks Nigel - I have been to LA and back today. I couldn't film much but I will try and fashion an update. It was crazy going over the mountains and through the desert.
All the best in the US mate
Thanks, so far so good. I'm getting my car this weekend, so I will have some independence.
Hi Harry Good for you All the best
Thanks Marion - Its going great - but boy is it hot 😂
Well done Harry keep at it bud enjoy your catch ups stay safe, Will
Cheers Will - I have driven to Los Angeles and back today! OMG!
That truck is huge, it looks really smart though. It won’t take you long to used to driving on the other side of the road. I do it when we go over to Poland and it becomes second nature after a while
I will certainly get use to it today. Currently 3am over here and getting ready to head out with my driver trainer for the first time today to California and back
@@HarrysTruckingAdventures Good luck and drive safely mate
Hi buddy, have you seen the Wee Yorkshire Trucker on RUclips. He has been filming in the US for year's so hopefully you should be ok. Aslong as your company is ok with it .
Hi Stuart, yes I have been watching Wee Yorkshireman Trucking for a few years now. He gets on some nice adventures
Hi Harry things are really moving fast for you now. You are absorbing everything very well and keeping upbeat. I don't suppose you can push the filming to much but I am sure it will all work out OK. Can I just ask which film editor you use for your Gopro's .I've just bought one after catching the filming bug. Keep up the good work you're doing great. Keith. 🤩
I use editing software called Davinci Resolve. There is a free version on their website. It is professional editing software so there is a learning curve but once you get use to it, it is easy to use. There’s plenty of helpful videos on RUclips to help learn it
Thanks Harry I really appreciate that . Good luck with your 🚗
Listening to all you have had to absorb made me realise how well you are doing. As I mentioned in one of my earlier comments you are doing what I never had the guts to do when I was young. As you say, when you get a Car and start driving around it will become second nature to you, driving on the right. Things are coming on in leaps and bounds but you have had to put the hard yards in. Look forward to the next vid and all the very best Harry.🚚🚚👍👍
Thanks Peter - Tim replying (Harrys dad). I am starting the drive to take his car to him. We are meeting in Des Moines and then sharing the drive. 2100 miles in total!
Is that weights at the back of the lorries for heavy loads
Hi - Thanks for the comment. I am not 100% sure as I don't drive such heavy loads, but I believe the weight stacks are there so the driving wheels can get enough traction. The steel coils only look relatively small but they are hundreds of tons.
@@HarrysTruckingAdventures I’ve got my nephew watching and we were just saying it must be weights. I am so hooked watching them it’s just amazing thank you 🙏🏻
Well done passing the exams, what strikes me is the size of the place, you can bet no tight tips like you had in the uk,enjoying the updates.
@@Brian-nf6bt Thank you Brian. The video doesn’t do this place justice for the size of it! There is so much space! I don’t think I will actually be doing on tips over here most of my work will be trunking containers to and from Long Beach in California 3 times a week
Maybe do livestream downtown Phoenix sometime in future.
@@brucelee-d1k I can certainly look at doing that. I do want to explore the area once I get my car down here from Michigan. There’s loads of state parks round where I live now and the Grand Canyon is only a couple of hours away as well
I'm interested to know how much harder or easier the US CDL test is compared to the UK HGV test
@@dauntless1248 I will make a video comparing the US vs UK tests and regulations once I have got a bit more familiar with the US side of things
It's brilliant that everything is going to plan and you are getting to know the areas. A bit of down time went down well, plus you met good People. I spent years going around the World in my younger days and the feeling of being in new places is something else. I am so pleased for you Harry, l look forward to your vids. Onwards and upwards.🚚🚚👍👍
@@peterfrazer1943 Thank you Peter. Everyone I have met and spoken too over here have been good people and friendly I think it’s the constant good weather that makes people happier. It’s certainly helps with my mood seeing sunshine and warm climate 😂
Yes well done on passing the exams Harry. How have you found the the cost of living over there Harry.
@@dougparsons93 Thank you Dough. I can’t really crumble on the cost of living yeh it is a bit more expensive than the UK but I find there is more choice in things in the supermarkets and in things to do as well. Fuel is a lot cheaper out here though so filling my car up will probably be cheaper than the UK!
Well done on passing your exams Harry. Thanks for showing us around, it looks great over there
@@Stewart.fryers Thank you Stewart. Things are a lot brighter over here a lot more of the time compared to England! The area I am living is one of the fastest growing cities in America the amount of warehousing going up is insane!
Nice buddy, it looks really nice there and thanks for the update 👍
@@stuartlindle4908 Thank you Stuart. I am hoping to fly and meet my dad somewhere next weekend and we are going to drive my car down from Michigan so will be a video coming showing that to show a bit more of the US. I can’t wait to get a car again
Thanks for update Harry you got to be happy with weather bud, Will
@@user-qm9pe3bs2b thank you Will. The weather is certainly better than the UK! It does start to drop a bit next month temperature wise to like the mid to low 30s which will be a bit welcome. 40 degrees plus is too much
@@HarrysTruckingAdventures let's hope you get great air conditioning in your truck, Will
Cant wait till you bump into the Wee Yorkshire man 😂

@@peterfrazer1943 thank you Peter. I passed my Permit Test for CDL training Friday so hoping I can bring a bit more trucking content back to the channel soon. Although I am still waiting on a answer if I am ok to film
the AI voice combined with the smiling male truck driver makes this feel like some type of scam lmao
I can assure you it’s no scam. I’m selling nothing. Check out my other 300 videos and all I talk about is moving to the US. I did the AI voice to make it easier for non native English speakers to understand rather than my Yorkshire accent.
@@HarrysTruckingAdventures no mate I've seen your other videos, i'm just saying it sounds like it because that's how scammers do it too, good idea though considering the people who might have struggled to understand your accent
Your voice has changed a bit since you’ve moved haha
Hi Stewart. Tim replying. I edited this video and I thought the main audience might be non native English speaking so I opted for an AI voice rather than a Yorkshire accent 😂
Well done pal. Only met you once down Felixstowe. I had just started at multimodal you and the big Scottish bloke. Was there in the yard. I am from the Aldridge yard. Keep going mate and I look forward to seeing your future videos. Good luck youth. I’ll be watching. 👍
Thanks Dave. Say hello to Gary (Scottish bloke) if you see him. We worked together for 8 years and he's a top guy. I got my learners permit yesterday so hopefully next week I will be driving to Los Angles.
Will do mate. And all the very best
Thank you for all the updates Harry looks like a lot of learning to be done too.
Cheers Dough, I am getting on pretty quick - I have my CDL learners permit and will be driving to LA next week!
Almost 50 years ago I used to pick up from a place near to Blackwall tunnel and always got lucky, one time there was another driver there and we got chatting, he had been waiting 3 days for his load.
3DAYS!!! OMG - that's gotta be some kind of record!
@@HarrysTruckingAdventures Especially with a day cab.
Brilliant to see you are doing so well. The powers that be must be impressed with you to put you to work. As Confucious said," The longest journey starts with a single step" 🙂↕️🙂↕️ There is certainty a lot of space in those Rigs, when you get your own and start doing some long haul, it will be really comfortable for you. Look forward to your next vlog.🚚🚚👍👍
Thanks Peter - I have just got my CDL learners permit so hope to be out on the road next week, maybe to LA and back. I will film if I can.
Nice one Harry . Good to see you are doing OK . Can tell it in your voice
Thanks for the encouragement, CDL learners permit achieved. Hope to drive on the road next week.
good to see everything is going well mate :)
(Tim replying) Thanks Jack - he is doing great. He is complaining about the heat, but we knew that didn't we? 😂
Good idea to grab the tug, purpose built for shunting,I suppose one of the differences is the size of everything no tight shunting around that yard, the truck looks good lots more room so you fit your own fridge, does that mean the truck is yours only when you are working.
Hi Brian - this was only a one day job while I am training. When I get a truck it will be mine full time and it will be bigger and cleaner. Now I have my social number I can take the test to get a CDL learners permit. Then I can drive on the road with an instructor.
Ive been driving class 1 lorrys for 10 years on nights in the uk as thats where the money is, how does uk class 1 and usa class 1 pay compare ? I eould love to move out of the uk
I am remaking the video I did for the whole visa process. Should be up sometime tomorrow or Saturday. Pay wise, I guess they are about the same. New drivers will be in the $60k range, more when you get experience. The real golden goose if FedEx and UPS, they are $120k plus!
At least they are cool with you putting the camera on the screen. I imagine that Kenworth has a lot more power than your old truck. It looks like you’re having a blast
Agreed Stewart - I still have not had a definitive YES but they haven't said NO either so I'm hopeful.
Sounds like a 1970s European or old English 8 version of trucking tbh lol things have moved on so much USA seems stuck in an era that's gone.
Hi mate hope your ok just wondering with the visasolutions how much was it all and is the company paying for your cdl hope your good
Hi Josh I am remaking the whole visa process video and it should be up on Friday. Visa Solution will const me about $9000, but they take it over a 3 year period. Company will pay for all the training but I have to pay for the testing fees. It's an incentive to try and pass first time!
@@HarrysTruckingAdventures good luck mate do you think your application took so long because of the aftermath of Covid ?
