Thanks for keeping us in the Picture. . I am rooting for you and keeping my fingers crossed all goes well in the USA. You are doing what I didn't have the guts to do in the seventies. (Emigrate to Canada), that makes you a brave man in my eyes.👏👏
Thank you Peter! Yes it is definitely a daunting thing to do! And once here a totally different way of life but I am sure in a few weeks when I hopefully have my car and get a few hours car driving under my belt I will really settle in!
Thank you Richard. I am still working out the best way of doing the in week update videos but I think I have a plan figured out. It’s currently 41c at the minute so walking round and filming outside is too much for the Yorkshire lad 😂
@@HarrysTruckingAdventures I can totally understand that. I live in Wakefield so we’re not used to this kind of weather. Look forward to seeing how you get on. 🚚
Thank you! It is definitely a different way of life out here but I am slowly adjusting and trying to get use to the heat. Currently 41c at the minute coming up to 6pm!
Thank you Mark. Certainly no rest for the wicked! I am playing catch up to a group of drivers who came out here a week before me hence why everything is rushed. Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon I will have caught up and things will calm down a little bit!
Good for you mate, I emigrated to Canada 30+ years ago…no regrets, drove truck for a few years as well….good luck mate, looking forward to your adventures👍
@@kateandstevebeasley1678 Thank you! I am slowly settling in the way of life is certainly different than the UK mostly the driving I think is going to take a little getting use to but it will come with a bit more practice. It’s mostly the theory side like road laws that I am struggling with but I can easily practice that on a evening
Thank you. Good old coopers cabin you can’t beat it sometimes! I’ll never complain about warm weather though again currently 41c here at the minute but “cooler” weather is on the horizon apparently
Recently stumbled across the channel and thoroughly enjoying catching the journey of moving to the states. Really interesting to hear and wish you the absolute best of luck on the adventure. Would be interesting to know what the process has cost if you wouldnt mind sharing in the future
Hi Shaun Thanks and welcome to the channel. So far the costs have been minimal. The biggest outlay was the medical and interview week in London. That cost me about £1000 with hotels and travel in addition to fees. The visa solutions fees are paid back over the next 3 years at around $50 a week. So it really is affordable for anyone. Go for it!
I totally forgot about Staxton Hill! The escape lane for runaway trucks always makes me laugh down there. Be a very skilled driver to make that escape lane if they need it! Luckily I don’t think there are many hills like that over here
Congratulations man, you made it! I'll be keeping eye on your channel and expecting updates on everything.. how life is... how you switch to paying taxes etc! please keep us informed it's so important! hopefully I can follow your steps soon.
Thanks for the encouragement Josh. I am lucky that my parents have been living in Michigan for 8 years so they have been through this already. But, yes that’s the plan to keep updating as often as I can whilst trying to keep the videos somewhat entertaining.
Hi Ryan. I am not sure when I will be out in my own truck. I would have thought 2 to 3 months at best guess. I think I will be doing the route to LA sooner though just with another driver to get shown the route and get the port cards and all that plus giving me experience on the road
Hello Harry, can I ask, did you have a job offer before moving out there ? Do you need a works visa ? and if so, how long is it valid for. How long before you can get a residency
Hi - good questions. I will be doing a full A to Z video for the whole visa process. But, short answer is yes - you have to have a sponsoring company with a real job offer before you can even start applying. I have a EB3 visa (green card) which is permanent residency. After 5 years I can apply for dual citizenship. :-)
Glad you got there safe mate. How are they getting on with your Yorkshire accent? lol. Those trucks look huge too, I bet you can’t wait to get behind the wheel
I haven’t had many problems with my Yorkshire accent as of yet but I have toned it down a little bit 😂 they are quite a relaxed company here so you can talk to them normally they have drivers coming here on visas from all over the world so are use to different ways of people talking
You seem to have adjusted and fitted in straight away. Good for you Harry and I wish you true happiness in your new life in Arizona. Really looking forward to future videos. Can't wait.
Good luck. A bit of advice, when you go looking for a house, take notice of the words "HOA." (Home Owners Association) It can be the bane of your life, especially they employ a for profit management company. They employ "Enforcement Agents" who deliberately looks for infractions so that they can fine you. The bastards will fine you for the least transaction (not mowing your lawn, grass not being green enough, bins in the wrong position on the street). If you don't pay fines, the bastards can sequestrate your wages and even foreclose on your house to sell it for a profit. If you can avoid a property with an HOA you are lucky. You being a Brit and not knowing the HOA rules, you are seen as a cash cow by the management company.

Good luck Harry. I have just driven to Scarborough from Pontefract and I thought of you when we came down Staxton Hill.

Enjoyed this one buddy good luck.
Thanks Stuart - spoiler alert - I just passed my car driving test! After only 30 hours in the country. It's insane to me.
Well done you😀

Thanks Steve - loving it so far, no spiders seen but two HUGE mozzie bites
Good luck in the USA Harry, sorry to see you go.
Thanks Tim, it was a touch decision but I think I will be OK here in the US
Brilliant news with the start of the driving tests. Best of luck with everything Harry. How long do you think before you’re out in a Truck?

Can't wait to get behind the wheel of a V8.

Don't forget when you do your early morning checks make sure your tyres haven't melted.
41 DEGREES - PHEW !!!
It honestly doesn’t feel that hot, the humidity is low so that makes it feel cooler.

Hi John. Yes I am fully aware of HOA my parents have lived in Michigan the last 8 years so I know what they can be like!
