Professional Artist: How I Got Here
First, your art is beautiful!!! Thank you for the video, very helpful as I research which printer to buy. I design pieces with pressed flowers and would like to make nice prints of them.
Can you do a video on self representation vs using an agent? These videos are so helpful! Thank you!❤️🙏🏼
Love your beautiful art! So excited to watch your process! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for being so real. It made me very comfortable, like two friends sharing information instead of as if you are giving a lecture. 🤸♀
Congratulations! You're such an inspiration! Thank you for sharing your journey ❤
Thank you for sharing your process! I love this!!
Beautiful. Thank you ❤
Thank you for sharing your personal experience. I have thought about doing this, but I always felt my work was not commercial enough for it.
Why did you choose the 550 over 600? I’m not able to find the difference between these two printers to justify the cost difference?
Thank you you have opened my eyes to so much useful information, Thank you! I am Grateful, love your art! ❤
Hi ..very helpful video! I had a question about how to digitize a larger piece like a 40' by 30' painting. Is this possible somehow? Thanks
Thank you!❤
Thank you so much for sharing this. I am a new mom of a 1 year old, stay home 24/7 and trying to build a business with no income. All my artwork is tucked away and I have to bring it back to life and sell some prints to all the people all my life have loved the art I've shared but never made it available to them. I'm hesitant to buy a really good printer with my business credit card since I've already got so much machines and still haven't made anything back. This video hit me in the center of my heart because Art is my path and I hope I can make my own beautiful prints like you do. The big leap is scary and time isn't waiting for me to make money. So, thanks Annie for your time and love.
Thank you for sharing. I am so in love with your art work. I am one of you biggest fans.....
OMG ❤ beautiful work
Your Amazing 🤩
Great tutorial! I've had my Epson P800 for 6 years now and love it. I use Epson Cold Press Bright paper and the prints are identical to my original watercolors when viewed side by side. I use the roll attachment for 99% of my prints - it's worth the investment! The roll paper is much less expensive than the sheets. Epson is also fussy about the 13x19" sheet paper (it's a known issue), but the rolls consistently print perfectly.
Thank you, so much. I have a painting I want to scan, so this is helpful. How about Procreate? I the process the same ?
❤
Thank you so much for this video! I'm nervous to take the leap in offering prints - what gave you that extra push to take that leap?
Beautiful! Thank you
I love so much your landscape painting it’s so beautiful!! I wish to see more like this and to see you draw it!
This has been so helpful!! Definitely helps bring me closer to realizing my goal of selling my art! Thank you!
Wow I actually think this might be the path for me
I would love a video on the process of you photographing your artwork ❤
Wonderful!! Thank you for sharing! I love watching your process, it is really helpful.
I am an extremely prolific artist I create multiple pieces each day I have 45,000 followers on TikTok and I find doing this licensing thing difficult Do you know how to find an agent or do you represent yourself
Is it okay to use procreate instead of Photoshop ??
Do you scan with the "show texture" option on or off? What is the best for a print?
Question, that white shelf in the back, where do you buy that? I am an artist too and only have a small space in my studio.
You are a natural. Great job and completely yourself! Love it!
Annie this was fantastic! I just found you!! You are so delightful! I want to start making prints of some of my oil paintings. Are these inkjet prints?
Amie, I miss your videos! I know you’re busy but it would be nice if you tried to upload 2 times per month instead of just once. I got used to you uploading once a week! lol I just love your videos
Great video! I really enjoyed watching this and will be watching the bouquet painting next!
What a masterclass on post production! Very impressive. ❤
can yo tell me the type of watercolor paper used?
Great info thank you!
Great video! Thanks for making it!
your smile 🥰
I'm not sure if licensing is the path for me, but I love learning about it and am keeping my options open! Thanks for such a great video!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! I know sometimes I just enjoy hearing perspectives of other artists. It's so interesting to me :)
I enjoyed this video and the subject of art licensing. I appreciate that you talk about the different facets of the art business.
I wonder if you would speak to how to put together a portfolio of work. Are there general guidelines that a newer artist should know?
I never would have even thought it but, after listening to you here, I think art licensing might actually be for me. I love creating so many different styles and types of art that it might scratch my itch in that part of my artist journey. I definitely have a personality that is open minded, patient and flexible. I've been in process mode the past two years creating what inspires me and honing my painting skills. A couple of questions that I thought of was did you get approached by an art agent or did you seek one out? I have gotten spam from what looks like a possible art agency but was only a way for them to get more followers etc. Which leads me to my second question and that is; Is there a resource that exists that lists reputable art agents and or their agencies? Now that I am typing this out I am also thinking is there certain criteria or pitfalls to steer clear from when dealing with an agent and also what is a type of licensing deal you would or have avoided? Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom! It truly means more than you know! I also love your ethos on not knowing when you will post next. Be so proud of that boundary you created. It often takes people a lifetime to get to that place of not giving in to the social media pressures of constantly posting for fear of not being relevant. You're a great example to so many of us and I love it!!
Great video my friend, thank you for all tips and insights of art licensing proses ! 🤍🤍
Will you describe at some point what is the best way to produce work for a licensing portfolio. Size of original work? Digital file size? Stuff like that.
Yay! So glad you posted again! I would love it if you could upload once a week like you used to or every other wk bec you’re videos are very informative and fun
Super fun seeing all your beautiful work Annie!! I like to call my art licensing a "semi-passive" income stream haha. Thanks for your reminder of a tight portfolio, I'm off to clean things up a bit!! And your pointy finger absolutely helped. 😄
sometimes we need a little tough love with the pointy finger lololol
Annie... because of you I took the leap and bought the Epson P900. It was delivered today, and I'm watching and rewatching this video to make sure I'm doing everything correctly. I'm taking all of your advice. Thank you SO much for sharing this!! I'm so grateful.
Thanks Annie! This was honest information that I needed to hear. 🥰💜
My question would be similar to what you said other people ask you. I'd love to see a video on what you consider a portfolio ready for licensing/behind the scenes of the portfolio you send out (or would send out if you were just starting out pitching for licensing). Especially including digitizing your portfolio...assuming people don't really view non digital portfolios much these days?
