Thanks for giving a detailed explanation of everything. I've been searching for how to scan then edit in Photoshop for a while now and your video has helped me with this the most so far. I love your amazing flower art. Have a great day! 🙂
I agree with @purplepumpernickel! Every word! The content and your pace and your tone and everything was just what I have been looking for and right where I am right now learning Photoshop so that I could actually follow what you were saying. This was tremendously valuable and I thank you so much.
I am so glad I found your channel. Not only am I learning and saving the videos to help me when I want to try this all out, but I feel like you are a really nice person, and the kind of person I want to be friends with. 🌺
I'm so happy I found your channel! 👏 YAY!!! You are wonderfully generous, talented and kind! I appreciate all the information you are so willing to share. From the first video I watched of yours I felt you were fabulous. Life has a way of throwing us curves sometimes and I have been struggling to find myself as an artist again after a few years away. Throughout the time I didn't feel well enough to paint, I held onto the dream of creating art again. And progressing to making a business. I'm starting to paint again, loving it and exploring both watercolor and acrylic. 🎨I feel so grateful to have found you, you are such a gem❣ Thank you, Annie
Annie I love your videos! I am a new artist and you are answering so many questions I have had thank you. I would love to see a video on how you do your shipping process please 😊
Yes, I was so impressed with the landscapes...I haven't seen any like that. I want a tutorial on those! Most landscapes are uninspiring to me even though I love scenic views in real life.
This video is so helpful. I’m sure I’ll watch it multiple times, you explain everything so clearly!! To clarify, you would recommend the $750 scanner is that right? I heard you mention both a few times.
I have the epson v550 scanner and remember paying about $300 for it. To be honest I think it was priced wrong or inflation is that bad because the current price is $750. BUT most artists I know have the v600 and it is so good and is priced at $350 :) I hope that answers your question!
Thank you for the wonderful, informative videos. I love your channel! I often use Photoshop’s File > Automate > Photomerge feature to automatically align and stitch the divided scanned images. This can be a much easier way than aligning manually. I Hope this saves time.
Can you do more acrylic flower tutorials and also a video on essential supplies for beginners? I have been teaching myself watercolors for a year but I want to start learning acrylic too! All I’ve bought so far is a starter paint set with 6 tubes and a pad of paper
Thank you, Annie! I was stuck in my quest to get my art out there but thanks to your videos, I can see a way. If you are looking for other subjects to do video’s on, I would love to know how your pricing works for your prints. Maybe how you come up with your pricing scale? This bit stumps me. Thanks again.
Hi. I am seriously looking into licensing my artwork, but I don't know where to find reputable companies and how to contact and negotiate a contract. What is expected? Do you send in a portfolio, etc? Could you give me some tips and suggestions, point me in the right direction? Bless you. Pam Delay
Thank you! Are you able to show us the larger canvas sizes that you scan in pieces and how you stitch them in photoshop? I have always wondered about that process as well ☺️🫶🏼💚
As I was editing this video I was actually thinking to myself that the stitching scans together section could definitely be it’s own stand alone video 😅 I will add that to my list 🥰
@@AnnieQuigleyArt sounds amazing! Will be so good to learn then I’ll be out buying this scanner to start doing it for myself. I use affinity photo which is kind of an equivalent to photoshop (I think 😆)
Wow Annie, you are doing a great job with this channel! You really have the personality and experience needed to gain a wonderful following. This was a wonderful explanation of how to scan artwork. Thank you!
Not sure if it's just me or perhaps an editing mistake, but at 20:50 when you are showing the printout vs. photoshop those are two different pieces of art. :( Both are just as lovely :)
You are right 😂 it was something I noticed when I was completely finished with the the video. I painted two paintings with slightly different compositions and I held up the wrong painting for the video but everything still applies with color correction because the paintings are essentially the same….just slightly different compositions lol.
That is one of the best explanations of anything tech! Great job! Do you know if Epson makes a printer and scanner in one? The cost of getting my art scanned is crazy. Getting them printed is too high, and the artist is the only person that can really tell what their work should look like. Love your site😊
I’m so glad you found it helpful because yes! It is so expensive to get professional scans. It is a convenient service if you have a large collection but definitely a good skill to have if you want to make art prints from home :)
This was very informative...thanks. One question, near the 20 minute mark or so you compared a print to the image on your laptop screen. Is your laptop calibrated? And if it is, is it calibrated for not only what you see but also what you print out? I no longer do this because I'm not a professional but when I was using calibration software it was crazy expensive.
I am glad you found it helpful! I have been using photoshop since I was 16 so I have picked up bits and pieces along the way. RUclips, google, and chat GPT are GREAT resources for beginners :)
Thank you for this tutorial! Do you save your edited artwork in RGB or CMYK color mode before you print it on your printer? I just discovered you on RUclips. Gosh, I love your work. Thank you for teaching!
I have the very same question. I guess from the video that she uses RGB, which is what she got after scanning the image. When she opens the image to work on it in Photoshop, around 14:00, you can clearly read it's RGB, she didn't change anything with regards to color profile nor created a new canvas. So I guess it's RGB, I'm gonna try that. So far, I haven't been successful with prints and color matching :/
Yes! It would work beautifully for that! I have a rough textured handmade paper that I paint on occasionally and I actually learned this technique when scanning in the artwork done on that paper :)
I’m not sure there was anything really specific but mainly through research, epson has really great reviews and because I had the epson scanner, I ultimately went with the epson printer 😊
How do you send the large files for licensing projects? Do you just zip them? Do they send you a brief of what items they need or do you send them the files and they do what they want with them?
I use Dropbox and we transfer for sharing large files :) To answer your second question, it’s a little bit of both, sometimes i get a brief that is very specific, but most of the time it is very open ended.
I would love a video on the process of you photographing your artwork ❤
Thanks for sharing! So many art tutorials want you to join their patron to get this kind of information
You are so welcome! I know tutorials like this can be so helpful especially in the beginning :)
Your printer and scan tutorials were amazing. Thanks so much. Would love to see watercolor tutorials. Lisa

I love that you are sharing how to scan and some changes you do to get artwork!
I’m glad you enjoyed the video!❤️
That was such a meaningful tutorial for beginner artists! The trick for reducing the texture was so helpful.
What a masterclass on post production! Very impressive. ❤

Excellent tutorial without all the fluff.❤ Would love a video on your packaging and shipping. Thanks!
Thank you, so much. I have a painting I want to scan, so this is helpful. How about Procreate? I the process the same ?
Hi ..very helpful video! I had a question about how to digitize a larger piece like a 40' by 30' painting. Is this possible somehow? Thanks
Thank you so much! You are an inspiration! You make me feel like maybe I could sell my art too. ❤
I am so glad you are feeling inspired! That makes me so happy 🥳🥳🥳

You are Amazing!!!! Thank you so much for this! I am so excited ! Again, your work is so beautiful and I loved that you showed us your Art!
I’m so glad you enjoyed!! ❤️❤️ I love sharing the journey 🥰
Question, that white shelf in the back, where do you buy that? I am an artist too and only have a small space in my studio.
I have 18x24 and 24x36 pieces. How do I go about with that?
I have the same issue! Pieces are too big
Annie, Love your aesthetic and approach on YT! Would you mind sharing where you purchase your ink refills for the Printer P900? Thanks!
Thank you so much! Great video. Could you possibly talk more about art licensing? 😊
That is a widely requested topic and will definitely talk more on that in the future 🥰

Thank you so much for sharing your process! This was so helpful and much needed!

Great info. Thx loads. I absolutely needed this specific step by step technique for creating prints and stitching etc. Perfect useful content!!!

Great i look forward to this one. .
Do you scan with the "show texture" option on or off? What is the best for a print?
Thank you so much Annie!
You are so welcome ❤️
Thank you so much! This was pretty helpful :)

Hi Annie….would you mind telling me what version of Adobe PhotoShop you use?
Thank you for this fabulous tutorial 😊 Did you teach yourself Photoshop or did you do a course?
I am glad you found it helpful! I have been using photoshop since I was 16 so I have picked up bits and pieces along the way. RUclips, google, and chat GPT are GREAT resources for beginners :)
Yay! Thank you so much for this video :)
How do you make sure that the colors you are seeing on your computer screen come out the same off the printer? Thank you for your time.
I have also been trying to figure out how to properly resize and add borders...hint hint...possibly a future video...😂❤
Yes!! Such a good idea and kicking myself for not covering that in this video. my list of future videos is getting LONG😅
Why did you choose the 550 over 600? I’m not able to find the difference between these two printers to justify the cost difference?
Thank you for this tutorial! Do you save your edited artwork in RGB or CMYK color mode before you print it on your printer? I just discovered you on RUclips. Gosh, I love your work. Thank you for teaching!

What do you use to clean the glass of your scanner between uses?
Thank you for these videos! Ok, how about an art licensing video now…😂
It’s on the list! 😅
Is it okay to use procreate instead of Photoshop ??
Nice
Would the “minimize texture” work on those shadows you get on watercolor paper from the cold press or rough watercolor paper texture?
Yes! It would work beautifully for that! I have a rough textured handmade paper that I paint on occasionally and I actually learned this technique when scanning in the artwork done on that paper :)
Thank you for this video and your painting is beautiful. How did you decide on the Epson scanner compare to others such as the Canon brand?
I’m not sure there was anything really specific but mainly through research, epson has really great reviews and because I had the epson scanner, I ultimately went with the epson printer 😊
You should calibrate your scanner with an IT8 target before scan so you don't have to adjust the color yourself later on.
Will you comment about the quality differences between a scan and a phone photo please.
That is a great idea for a future video because there is definitely a difference but I know a good visual would help conceptualize it all!❤️
❤
