A tip for downloading, in the settings you can have it so that while plugged in the display will shut off after 1 minute but still download. This only works in desktop mode so if you wanna download anything just have your steamdeck plugged in and download in desktop mode

Have you tried disabling the wifi power management option in the developer mode? It may help but also being close to your router and using 2.4ghz if there are many walls between the signal could as well.

The only case I like is the Skull and Co. Not only is it lighter and the grip easier than the Killswitch. The grip itself can stand up the deck without a stand. I still prefer the deck nude though.

I wanted a SD since the first shipment, but I waited and waited and waited until they dropped the OLED. I fucking love it.

Once you go OLED, you won't wanna go back. OLED phone, Switch, Steam Deck, and PC monitor. My next goal is to get an OLED TV someday, but those are by far the most expensive, so it'll take a while. Also, if Switch 2 doesn't have an OLED screen at launch, I WILL NOT buy that thing.

Hey man, great video on the Steam Deck! It's currently my all time favorite gaming console and piece of gaming tech I've ever owned. The issue you had with the resolution scaling when docking it to your monitor @ 16:18 is easily fixed by hitting the settings tab on the right before booting up a game and setting it to a 16:9 ratio resolution (720p/1080p/etc.). Up until recently you would have to change this setting with every game you play, but with the most recent OS update you can just go to the Display settings on the Steam button tab and set the universal resolution! Very handy and welcoming update since I also dock pretty often and change my resolution to 1080p to every game I play. If that doesn't work, you can always hit the three dot button on the right side of the Deck and go to scaling and set it to Stretch or Fill. These might look weird in some games, but sometimes it works perfectly! Hope one of these things helped!

Do you even steam deck?

I have been bouncing between wanting to build my own PC and wanting a Steam Deck. I primarily want a Steam Deck to play my indie and JRPG games that I have on my Switch as I don’t by digital games often for the Switch, so I’d rather lessen the load of it. Also finding out games that I played Demos of being on Steam just makes it easier. I agree with the idea of the Steam Deck being used for lighter games and indies as it takes a long time for indie games to come on Switch or they are entirely dropped. Steam Deck gives a more easier avenue for both players and the developers as they went from the PSP, the Vita and then the Switch. I think having a more easier and long running platform for them to work with is great.

Bro I love ACNL too, it's such an awesome game. Me, three of my siblings, and a bunch of my cousins played it so much. Even though some of them are grown up and I'm in highschool now (I'm one of the younger ones in my family), it's so nostalgic and I played it with two of my siblings and my grown up cousin (who lives in another state) the day 3DS online shut down.

It's because the one who made the 3ds is dead, and the one who made the switch didn't think back. Such it is but 3ds wins everyday over switch. Hopefully switch 2 gets better as it has taken som critic of fans.

I just watched this video and it brings me back to the glory days of the 3ds when everyone had them, I remember like going out with it and everything. It was so fun to play with my brothers and family. And man I just got one now and I am stuck to it, can't even like lay it down after modding it. The 3ds is one of the best consoles not even joking, that was the best peak years of living. TY NINTENDO!

Have your views evolved at all since making this? I genuinely think M&L combat is a flawed concept. If you can avoid all damage for free, why bother with limited-use super moves (MP in most RPGs)? The enemy can't hurt you and normal, free attacks will kill it eventually. Enemy formations/synergies? Who cares what they do: they can't touch you. Prioritising? See the above point. Items? You're not getting hurt. Ailments, buffs and debuffs? You'll win unscathed eventually anyway. See what I mean? Action commands, random encounters, etc. Those things have pros and cons, too. I'll spare you the details, though.

Fun Fact: Mario RPG was made because RPG's weren't selling well in the west at the time.

I love the Mario RPG’s, it was my gateway to learning of the genre and how I fell in love with it but I hate how many times I’ve heard it repeated that they’re the pinnacle of the genre just because you can press some buttons when attacking. The generalization of the genre from your narrow field of experience prevents you from seeing the joy of strategizing and building your party members which the M&L games are lacking in, like as soon as you get the most powerful bros move available to you you’re just going to spam it. Paper Mario’s a lot more customizable with the badges and those are great but not near the level as other games. Fire Emblem is a series I fell in love with because of how addictive the class and skill mechanics are to build my ideal units. Plus this kind of attitude prevents you from experiencing some fantastic stories gaming has to offer. This is an action RPG but Xenoblade’s genuinely changed my worldview, multiple times and I wouldn’t have played it if I hadn’t broadened the scope of games I’m willing to play.

How do you get 300 hours in SM3DL and NSMB2 ? I didn't think there was that much content. Also how many 3ds consoles have you been through? That N3dsxl you have looks pretty pristine

how are motion control games with the fixture? i like motion controls and use them in handheld but having the screen actually lever away when i try to aim seems actually unbearable
