Pragmatism and progressivism are two schools of philosophy between which a key difference can be identified. Pragmatism is a philosophical movement that highlighted the importance of practicality and experience over principles and doctrine. Progressivism was a philosophical tradition that highlighted that human development or the improvement of human conditions relied very much on scientific, technological, social and economical development.

عملیت پسندی اور ترقی پسندی فلسفے کے دو مکاتب ہیں۔ عملیت پسندی ایک فلسفیانہ تحریک ہے جس نے اصولوں اور نظریے پر عملیت اور تجربے کی اہمیت کو اجاگر کیا۔ ترقی پسندی ایک فلسفیانہ روایت تھی جس نے اس بات کو اجاگر کیا کہ انسانی ترقی یا انسانی حالات کی بہتری کا بہت زیادہ انحصار سائنسی، تکنیکی، سماجی اور اقتصادی ترقی پر ہے۔
