I bought a 2008 speed3 and got a broken oilcooler after 100km. Conplete cooling system full of oil. This was my biggest nightmare. I hope the car will be more reliable in the future. One big negative for me is that the gaspedal is way to sensitive, especially for front wheel drive. Rainy days are my natural enemy 😂

So does the 2.5 timing set fit the 2.3, I've heard the 2.5 timing set is stronger. Currently running 09 CX-7 pretty stock, slowly adding cork sport parts and mileage is getting up there so I figure a chain in on the horizon. Anyways excellent video!!!

i love my mazdaspeed3 but i gotta say the community can be kinda miserable and the aftermarket support is so expensive. I know as you said there isn't much profit in supporting the platform but still. Corksport selling literal aluminium sheets called "engine covers" for almost 100$ and many other simple parts for ridiculous prices is very bothersome. I appreciate people like andrew wilson with Xspeedfab, Chris ward with CW turbochargers, and othser companies like damond motorsports and edge autosport for still carrying many quality parts for somewhat reasonable prices. Great video I loved the part where u took that curve and ur RL wheel lifted off the road lol

It's great if you want views and wanna entertain some if you choose to be a comedian then you don't have to be honest but if you are gonna offer some good tips when it comes to working on car,like jacking up a car so it's safe at least be honest. I just don't see how lot of what he says is honest.

If someone works on cars but will only own one brand of automobile and then tell you that every other brand is junk is a fool. A responsible person who takes care of there car would just not watch him. He says everything is junk,that's what liars say about cars,who don't work on them. He can fix cars but seriously if he was a real mechanic,you think he would be making videos for entertainment on YT! Hey bro, I like this video, and I love the mazda speed 6, but I feel like your looking at this car in the wrong way... these cars for a start are unicorns and great sleepers, they'r very understated, very comfortable and quick, not fast. If you want to tune this car to 500whp and be tracking it, you're missing the point and its a waste of time, money and effort, as you mention, as a very comfortable quick cruiser especially as you can easily get 350bhp with just a front mount cooler, exhaust and remap it makes it the perfect wolf in sheep's clothing that's way more comfortable than anything else similar... maintenence wise, it's not a Japanese engine, it's a ford 2.0 na that mazda bored up to 2.3 and added a turbo so of course you need to change the oil 2x a year/5000miles if you want it to last... this car was never aimed at the performance consumer... its just a nice comfortable discreet quick cruiser... if you want 500bhp+ you shouldn't be looking at a front drive with part time 4wd, you should be looking at a true awd chassis like the scoobies and evos you mentioned or a rear drive bmw... props for the video though

To be honest the MPS / Speed6 had 3 big Problems: #1 Rust, Rust, Rust (rear arches, underbody) #2 Direct Port Injection (clean inhectors every 100k) #3 Dirty Inlet Valves (clean valves every 100k) Other than that it is a great and reliable car. It can handle maximum of 330HP to Max. 350HP with stock rods since they are weak af. The gearbox is great, better than Evo or Wrx Sti The Awd System is full time AWD but so safe fuel it Switches between 5% to 50% to the rear. Under heavy acceleration it is 50/50 which gives massive Grip. The Steering is more precise than in stock Mazda 6. The Fuel effiency is great for long traveling. Especially compared with Evo or Wrx Sti you need less fuel in the MPS. The Engine Chain is good for 150k and usually makes no problems. The brakes are not that Bad. No Brembo like in the Evo but with 320mm same diameter and good heat absorption. As I own an Evo and my Wife MPS I would rate both cars the Same. Since the MPS is better in the Evos weak spots and the Evo is better where the MPS is weak. My Score: Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII: Handling: 9,5/10 Engine: 9/10 Gearbox: 4/10 Trunk Space: 6/10 Fuel Economy: 5/10 Sound: 5/10 Seats: 10/10 While this is the Mazda 6 MPS score: Handling: 8/10 Engine: 7/10 Gearbox: 10/10 Trunk Space: 8/10 Fuel Economy: 7/10 Sound: 8/10 Seats: 7/10

I have a 2004 MSM with 85K miles. It has a rusted rocker and both rear quarter panels. It also could use a paint job. My question is rather it's worth repairing or leave it, enjoy it and let it rot.

That's pretty awesome that I stumbled across this video. I've been seeing a lot of masa speed threes and sixes over the past few months come for sale or next to nothing. Might be worth investigating.
