So me and my friends do lots of stuff at work and at home so why not share it with everyone? My day job is working as a heavy equipment operator for my local municipality and I also have a small collection of equipment I do side work with.
Pulling a water service with the magical cable
Another leaking service that had been patched multiple times previously. We had some trouble finding the main but eventually was able to pull a new line using our "magical" cable that no one in our area seems to be familiar with.

Playing in the poo pipe! Dual sewer cleanout install. (Re-uploaded)
Просмотров 5 тыс.8 месяцев назад
Older video from a few years ago where me and Zac help a friend of ours out on a sewer dilemma. He had no cleanouts accessible to clear his line so we installed some. Some people don't like "bullhorn" cleanouts because you cant see inside but they do help when guiding an eel. The sewer has been working fine ever since.
Can water guys do concrete?? Uhh sorta..

Driveway "big" pour after a main break. One of Zac's last days with us.. He runs a fulltime lawn maintenance business and was getting behind on his own work. He will still be seen in videos because he's my nephew and we do a lot of interesting things together!

Little Bobcat work since you don't see me on it much. I really goofed up some recording by getting out of frame but thought I'd show what I did get because it looked so much different when I was done.

Little drone flight over our Christmas in the Park here in Central Illinois. This was my first night flight and I was a little nervous with the thought of losing my bearing on direction, which I did, but kept calm and brought it back successfully! Hopefully you enjoy!

Cast iron got to love it
Boy,I'll tell you hwuut!
Good job guys, I do the have the same kind of job you guys do, I like what I do especially when the finished product is done ✔️
After watching this video I purchased a soldering kit and capacitors. Never have I soldered before. But with having to choose to replace or fix. I opted to fix on my own. When I pulled out the board and I had the exact the same issue as in the video, one of the electrolytic capacitors was swollen. After some work and determination I was able to get it out and was able to replace it. Been 2 days and my fridge is working perfectly. Very thankful I found this video. Thank you so very much.
no compaction?? i thought every two feet supposed to do compaction so road dont sink,???
Your right. We had no compaction equipment at the time and the department never had before us. We actually do have a compactor now for road jobs. Trying to get where we don't have to deal with settling however we actually don't have too many issues with the sand we use. We definitely spend more time on better roads. This one was redone a while after this and is good today.
Late to the show and hope you see this. I have the same fridge and the exact same issue lol. Have two swollen capacitors (two of the three in the group). Awaiting new caps and going to replace all three 470uf. Thanks for the video. Wish me luck as the control board now is almost 400 and display board is 240.
What is the song name around when yall started digging
I'll have to look that up. Can't remember if that's a RUclips audio one or Artlist one. I use audio from both.
@@TimMcArdle alright thank you
That track is called "Bluerise" by Oliver Michael from Artlist. ruclips.net/video/rUrcwBKpfXw/видео.html
@@TimMcArdle thank you so much!
👍
get a grading scraper for a tractor and recover the old rock! I
Very odd to see them shut the watermain right down instead of lowering pressure. You want to keep somewhat positive pressure to keep debris and contaminants from getting into the watermain
That company seems pretty bored
awesome work bro looks like a good crew! we have the same hydroescavator
Nah it look like that was a split you never put a clamp on a split unless real small then you can score the ends so it doesn’t run. With the other clamps I would’ve just cut it out in the first place.
Not going to disagree with you honestly.
Tim why don’t everyone have a hard hat
I hope the guys are using ear plugs that i cant see. Probably gonna get hearing difficulties later in life if not, otherwise good job.
We use those little yellow ones you squeeze and put in your ears. That sound of that saw is unbearable!
Where i work in Sweden theres chain cleaners that are 6"6 or 9"8 long, makes it way easier and faster because you can wrap it around the whole pipe and clean it.
This is exactly how we do it sweden aswell (where i live) except we dig wider because of unstable materials and use a Stihl 440 to cut the pipe by hand.
Good job!
That 4 inch oversized is a pain.
Got a CY CF code after a 5 day outage from hurrican Beryl. Ours issue was thar water collected in the motherboard tray. I dumped it and then dried it up with a hair dryer. It worked!
I think our first hiccup with ours was after a storm as well. Hope everything is ok for you guys!
@TimMcArdle all good now. While it wasn't the same exact issue your video helped me locate the tray and go from there. Thank you!
How much did that cost?
I think it was like 2500$ at that time.
Supposed to break them in....with no load
can't wait for the next video upload hopefully not too long from now. Full send bro never lift mobbin deep! Appreciate yeah g love the therapeutic vibes!
Do you ever hydroexcavate these?
We have access to vac trucks but generally don't have too much in the way so we just dig. We will pothole stuff if needed with our little vac trailer sometimes as well.
so you need 10 guys for 1 to dig and 1 to shove and put 1 clamp on with 3 bolts, got it
I’m new to this Water World, I was told to ensure that there could be no voids under the repaired pipe. That someone should pack the fill under the pipe until it was completely filled to at least the mid level of the repair. In the Video all’s I saw was fill dropped on the pipe. Was I instructed correctly?
The meters dont freeze up? What’s normal frost depth? All our meters are inside residents house or in a manhole.
Not generally. We're in the Midwest and don't get too deep on frost. Just have to make sure the pit is at least 3ft deep or so.
Man, that soil is like butter. Try vegas soil! If you can even call it "soil"
Track machines can’t compact. They have low ground pressure
Why you gotta slam the bucket down man 😂 no wonder why that machine has so much slop
That poor thing is a '95 with almost 5000 hours. It had that much slop when I started 11 years ago and hasn't gotten any worse. Pump her full of grease and she's loyal. I very seldom hammer a bucket on the ground.
Water fault the mark is like more than 26 inches far away.. ... next time they should mark it better
It was way off. PVC with no trace wire. Just a guess on location.
When it's two clamps so close together, usually we remove the old one, and use a pipe between instead. And couplings instead of course.
These are the type of guys who likes to make work days better having fun and joking around but getting the job done as well right. Good job guys
Great job I’m so glad our residential meters aren’t that deep in central Arkansas
Take the head off the compressor and turn it 180 , the bolt the head back on . Then you have a straight shot from the air output to the tank .
looks like your paints pretty far off. gonna be a big game of pointing fingers since they blind bored it. That’s why you should never go off a map and actually locate your crap
Our marks were way off yes. They weren't billed for damages. A lot of plastic mains around here with no trace wire or measurements. Sometimes we spend way more time trying to locate water than it takes to fix it.
Good job,,
Just now viewing your post...4 years late. I did the same thing with a JD X475 (gas). Replaced fuel line and sending unit. Sending Unit failed again. JD has a problem with these. Gave up.
Wha do you use to split old pipe?
Actually made a splitter on my lathe and welded some ribs on it to cut. It generally splits a little bit and then it ends up just bringing it all out on the cable.
What a clickbait title, the Boring company doesn’t drill that shallow. Shit if it had been them the tunnel would have been big enough to drive in
Pardon my terminology,, "Fiber HDD crew hits our water main"..
I can’t believe they barricaded the hole with orange fence. I guess they don’t have road plates or steel plates omg
Looks like city/county workers one worker and the rest only watch lol. Maybe they need more workers
Where’s the stiffener for your compression fitting
It's in there. We use metal ones.
We dealt with this for 2 years straight but we do both water and sewer and I swear they wouldn’t start working until time for us to get off we had so much overtime
Hell Tim you pay good? I definitely need a side gig lmao
I don't. Derek volunteers because he loves to be around me! 😂
Only if I didn’t live 3 hours from ya guys I’d be totally down to give an extra hand
Why are you digging the main up as a side job? Shouldn't a service line replacement from the main to the meter pit be the towns responsibility?
It is. That's who we were working for. It's a small village that doesn't have any maintenance personnel. They just buy water from the neighboring town and hire any maintenance that needs done.
Who fixed the street?
Township will most likely dura-patch it later on.
@@TimMcArdle okay I was just wondering
@@TimMcArdleso this is not the same County you work for on the regular?
Happy that you guys are back. I hope you have more in store for us. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
so does the main basically have valves butted to it with a compression fitting on the house service side? BTW, I'm amazed at all the hacks in that line under the street. Makes you wonder why they would do such patch work when the correct way isn't any harder.
Yes, the saddle on the main has what is called a corporation stop (corp) that has a turn valve on it. That was definitely a hacked up job no doubt. I found that a lot of guys around here have never heard of using cables the way we do. It sure saves a ton of work!
New subscriber here. Where are you guys from? Lots of clay makes for a difficult job. Keep the videos coming.
