What a wonderful review Thankyou . We’re staying here on 28th December before our flight to belfast for a few days as we love this city . We actually live in Watford which is only 20 mins away but anxiety with traveling on the day isn’t worth it lol what happens if there is an a coke car breaks down ,sill I know but we’ve been doing this for years and actually love it now . We have done a park and fly package with breakfast , 1 nights stay and 6 days parking standard room . Thanks again I’ll subscribe

Same, the Dawn managers need to be sacked. It sounds like they haven't sorted out the delays on embarkation (Dawn).

Thanks for the review of the Star. After watching this as well as your review of the Dawn, we are considering switching our planned Africa (South Africa, Madagascar, Mauritius) on the Dawn in 2025 with a cruise of the Star, that goes to Morocco, Spain and Portugal. Your reviews are very helpful.

My son and I are sailing on the Jade in August 2024 out of Orlando, Florida. I am looking forward to being on a smaller ship without all the water slides, etc. I'm sure we will have much warmer weather in the Caribbean than you had in the Mediterranean. The food and service on NCL ships is usually very good, so I expect the same on the Jade. Thanks for your input!

We have sailed on the Jade twice, once on an Eastern Med cruise in 2015, when it was still decorated for cruising around Hawaii and then again in 2022, on a great cruise to the Greek Islands and Turkey. I really like the Jade. The staff is excellent and the new decor we saw in 2022 was very nice. I just watched your NCL Dawn review and wanted to note that the Captain on the Jade (at least in 2022) was very communicative and efficient. We made every stop on time and were able to speak directly with the Captain on one occasion. Maybe the should move the captain of the Jade to the Dawn??? Note that we are booked to sail around Africa on the Dawn in early 2025.

We are booked on NCL Dawn's March 1, 2025 cruise from Mauritius to Madagascar, Reunion and several ports in So. Africa, ending at Cape Town. We have read and watched so many poor reviews of the Dawn's Africa cruises, we are considering canceling the whole trip and going somewhere else on another NCL ship. We've previously had five superb cruises with NCL, twice on the Jade, most recently on the Joy. All were well-run with great service and easy embarkation. This past December, we were on the Joy and traversed the Panama Canal. It was an awesome trip! Now, in light of the lousy reviews of the Dawn, we are dreading the embarkation process, poor communication from the top staff and food and beverage shortages. We are pretty much spending our life savings on this trip, and it would be truly awful to be disappointed on so many fronts. We are aware that during last month's dry dock portions of the ship were redecorated, but no major renovations took place. Thank you, Mama Jane and hubs, for your excellent, informative video and honest appraisal. You've given us a lot to think about. We have until Nov 1, 2024 to decide whether to cancel or take a chance and go on the March 2025 South Africa cruise as planned. Prior to all of our previous cruises, we had a blast planning excursions and anticipating a great time. Now, we have more apprehension than excitement about our upcoming Dawn adventure.

The walking tour sounds like a nice option for a cancelled excursion. I always look for a chance to talk with a local in these places.

We are booked on the Dawn for an African cruise in early 2025 and have heard some of these complaints about the Dawn. I really hope they fix some of these issues, expecially the Managment problems. FYI..... We also have cruised on the Jade and agree it is very nice ship.

We were on the Jade Oct. 2023 for a 12 night Med cruise out of Athens. We had a wonderful time, staff were very polite and accommodating. I agree wholeheartedly with all your comments. Thanks for your lovely video.

I sailed NCL Dawn … it was HORRIBLE … Management was inept … food was HORRIBLE … do not Sail on this boat!!!!

Booked our bucket list cruise months ago for our 11 day British Isles trip in August 2024 on NCL Dawn. Already booked excursions we’re looking forward to. We upgraded our room as well thinking our only overseas cruise for awhile anyway since was already expensive. I’m blunt/straight forward & expect excellence for what we spent. Hopefully your issues should be because of S Africa port, etc including food/drink issues. Management in Southhampton port shouldn’t be a problem. (Fingers crossed). I’ll be sure to order extra fully cooked veggies. Expectations for food/drink is over the top and better be 1st class.

Good video! I have sailed 4 times with NCL and Dawn was one of the ships. We have embarked in Miami, Vancouver, Tampa, and New York. Worst embarkation in all cities except New York but that's bc we decided to arrive late. No sense in rushing to wait in the heat. I am a smoker. Sorry Mama Jane's Husband. But I found the smoking area to be awful. I slept most of the time bc I didn't enjoy the ship. I didn't enjoy the layout. I spoke with multiple people with mobility issues and they really struggled with the layout of the ship as well and I don't have mobility issues.

Oh gosh. We are booked on this ship on the 5th November from Barcelona to Cape Town I hope they get their act together as we are on the ship for 22 days 😱😱

We were on the Dawn from the 9th to the 20th of March. I think you were being very kind to the management. We joined the Dawn to see the world and what did we see............ we saw the sea.

I saw this NCL Dawn Africa. I have to say last Sept did Dawn 11 day British Isles, experienced cruiseralmlst 40 trips many lines since 1992./You are 100% on target. Many on our FB Roll call described ship as ,disorganized , dysfunctional, dis or no information. This was BI management God Awful. Itinerary wonderful, ship not good. I gave my TA a long list of complaints. She never got response from NCL. I had a fight with staff over mobility issue that popped up on tour. I won but awful dealing with management. Sorry to hear same management onboard months later. Bamboo was my favorite complimentary. Unfortunately she is the NCL go to ship for exotic special journey. Oh our port to Liverpool was cancelled and guests all sat outside closed theater on floor and stairs for 45 mins at designated assembly tour times. We asked passing staff what's up. Finally, someone came said port was cancelled. No general announcement. We met people heading to theater and told them word of mouth sea day. Disembarkation day back at Southampton for those taking busses to Heathrow, called by bishop number. But second group, with luggage not checked were sent to wrong deck, sent back up to theater to be told go back to different deck with apologies.. I was on a group doing a tour to Salisbury and Stonehenge then London. We had black tags. In Warehouses there was no sign for black luggage assembly. They were coming led with crew dusembark and grey tags. At opposite ends . my problem is I want to do Africa but not on Dawn. I'm solo and 9 NCL cruises including Baltic were fantastic. I get lots of perks now. Hoping NCL Fall 2026 changes out ships for itinerary as spring 2026 still Dawn. Thank you for balanced but accurate comments for a fluke shio, no matter where she sails

I'll be on the Jade in March 2025 and I'm Platinum level so I will have 2 Specialty dinners as a perk and the FAS gives 2 more and i upgraded the FAS to the PLUS and that got me 2 more Specialty dinners so the total of Specialty dinners will be 6! I loved the MDR called Summer Palace so I'm hoping that the Grand Pacific is just as good!

I would have suggested you put BOTH beds against the wall, for MUCH more space in your room....

Never again will we sail with PO. Or ever sail again. Seeing buckets and carpet dryers in a ship you don't want to see the sea inside..after been traumatised in above hurricane conditions. Never again. Read ittenery carefully. You are only a few hours in Tromos and Narkic..not the 2 days days it appears NEVER AGAIN..

I think you have gone out to do a hatchet job on the Arcadia, don't know why, because I find the Arcadia is one of the best at sea

Just returned from a cruise to Canada. Nice to see appreciation of this ship as I was surprisingly impressed too. I also made use of that coffee machine ! The one at the rear end of the buffet was usually the least busy lol

I hope non smokers send written complaints to P and O about the smoking areas inconveniencing the non smokers. The smoking areas should be in a housed/enclosed dedicated area so the smoke can't waft off over non smokers.

We were on the Enchanted for two weeks in April, Barcelona to Athens. We had a wonderful time.
