Your not gonna believe me but i found out that the gameboy sp had an accessory that allowed for headphones and its exacltly like how most phones are today you have to by an adapter that plugs into the charge port which then goes to headphones

Late to the party, but Please don't use this cartridge in your GameBoy The contacts are not ENIG (gold plated) and will deposit on your golden cartridge reader pins This will effectively end up preventing the pins to make contact with your cartridges

When soldering thedehiss kit to capacitor C54, I accidentally removed it. I soldered it back, but the terminals ended up covered with the same solder, and then I soldered the mod on top of the capacitor as. Should I be worried? What could happen if capacitor C54 is not properly soldered?

Hmm, i have a weird copy of Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon for the ds, it has some qualities of a counterfeit, but it also has qualities of a real game cartridge. It doesnt say Nintendo on the game cartridge, the code on the front matches the back, and the game doesnt pause when saving. That said, the Nintendo logo on the back is a little weird, the sticker is a little fuzzy.

When you get these screen kits, you need the back half of the original game boy that you always need, can you buy the back half new? For original game boy ? or is there some sort of law against people making them?

I've worked on laptops and modern cell phones, so I am accustomed to tiny screws and miniature zif sockets and the rest of it but these joycon still took me about an hour each to do. Now the ~$75 cost for a brand new set feels a bit easier to swallow, haha.

Bought a GG with this screen pre installed 4 years ago. Fast forward and now that i have better soldering skills and i’m into console modding i was transplanting that GG into a new shell only to find out that the installation was pretty sloppy and some wires had disconnected. This video helped me out to understand what goes where. Thanks

Thanks for this video. I watched another install and the guy didnt say anything about the extra wires that came with the kit for brightness and he also didnt point out the modifications that need to be made to the case. I'm waiting for a new case but not I know what to expect and can better prep for the extra time I'll need for the install.

Hi! Where do I find the rubber things to replace them if I ruined them?

Be aware that some keycaps can have cheap printing so be careful with the water. A dry solution would be brushing each one with a dry toothbrush or use a mini vacuum with a brush for each cap.

Hinges should be removeed and installed withthe shell halves (and the hinges) in the 'open' position so that the halves of the "key" on the button face are aligned with the ones on the bezel. Forcing them in or out with the key's misaligned can damage the hinge, the shell, or both. I usually use the flat end of a spudger with even pressure on all the clips simulataneously to disengage them. This can be done with the hinge closed. However, before attempting to push them out the hinge needs to be opened to to align the keys between the two halves. With the keys aligned and the clips disengaged from the inside edge, you should not have to push overly hard with a pointed tool to get hinge the the rest of the way out. You also should not have to press the shell against a hard surface to force them in. Just hold the halves together in the 'open' position so that the keys align, and press it in with your thumb. Yer teaching people how to damage their shells and hinges. It's also possible to remove the bezel rubber screw covers with a toothpick or pointy end of a plastic spudger without damaging them so they can be salvaged for later use. This is a bad tutorial.
