I wore my natural hair in the typical afro style a few weeks ago and all the adults mentioned black power and all that political stuff but the people my age just said it was cute so I feel as time goes on the afro will be a less political style so I can wear it without mentioning the civil rights movement

Well, back in the 70s, we just wearing our afros and did not really consider it a movement. It really wasn't the big deal they make it in this day.

You can grow your hair to you desired length Sis, keep going! I prefer longer lengths as well. And I definitely prefer my 4c texture over being relaxed. Relaxed hair, on me, was lifeless, dull and could never achieve the length I ultimately desire to be. I, too, think natural hair shouldn’t be a trend…it’s just our hair, an extension of us, and it’s beautiful! 🥰

I'm my hair's best advocate and supporter because if I don't stand up for my hair, it means I dislike myself. I don't care if I had two strands with a bow tied to it, I will always wear it with pride, love and confidence. Haters don't take care of my hair, I do. My hair is beautiful healthy, long, thick and 4b/4c.! People talked bad about Jesus, but he never gave in to the haters.

I love mini twists BUT I have fine hair (healthy and full but my hair is fine) so I can't even get away with most of these mini twist gorgeous hairstyles because my hair looks too thin...not thick enough hair for it. Unless I add extensions like you advises, would love to see how we can achieve that hairstyle!

W had the Black Soul of the 50 , 60, 70, Our Culture during that time was free from those toxins. Only over the years did white supremacy perpetuated those ideas and beliefs on our black youth all over the world. Now no women wears they natural hair in all the colonized continents, you know what i mean. Stop putting the narrative out for US. Be specific. The Baby Boomers and beyond are still alive.

love the USP reference i was looking for a way to embrace my uniqueness and felt like the more the better in terms of skills (not just physical beauty) for example: an artist singer has to play instruments piano and guitar and dance etc. whereas maybe they are like adele singing is enough, or like beyoncé need dancing, glamour, but no songwriting, etc. We do all have different types of personalities and beauties. and having a USP mindset is great to make sense of why being unique is awesome. thanks for the video.
