I don't give a damn what the blk, wtye, purple or pink community say or think about my hair. What matters to me is that I love my hair and I respect it. I'm my hair's best advocate and supporter because if I don't stand up for my hair, it means I dislike myself. I don't care if I had two strands with a bow tied to it, I will always wear it with pride, love and confidence. Haters don't take care of my hair, I do. My hair is beautiful healthy, long, thick and 4b/4c.! People talked bad about Jesus, but he never gave in to the haters.
You can grow your hair to you desired length Sis, keep going! I prefer longer lengths as well. And I definitely prefer my 4c texture over being relaxed. Relaxed hair, on me, was lifeless, dull and could never achieve the length I ultimately desire to be. I, too, think natural hair shouldn’t be a trend…it’s just our hair, an extension of us, and it’s beautiful! 🥰
I wore my natural hair in the typical afro style a few weeks ago and all the adults mentioned black power and all that political stuff but the people my age just said it was cute so I feel as time goes on the afro will be a less political style so I can wear it without mentioning the civil rights movement
Not many people mention the political aspect of natural hair. I believe that’s one of many reasons many BW won’t wear an Afro in public today. It’s disheartening that the hair we are born with is synonymous with rebellion and war. Don’t pump your fist the air and say “sista” or “queen” when you see me. A simple compliment will do. ✌🏾✌🏾
I definitely feel free since going natural a year ago, I love my hair and it’s so beautiful and healthy, and the quality of men I get now is a whole new level, they love it and tell me I’m unique and authentic
You look regal with your hair like that, the ear rings look nice too. I think it is more the Afro-American community than the African community who seem to dislike a certain hair type.
@@mariepearl-harbour2335 i think both american and african ppl have developed an internalised hate for tighter textured hair. but i do feel as though us africans have accepted we have type 4 hair and many of us have it so we are used to seeing it. AA ppl beauty standard is basically to look racially ambiguous so probably thats where the desire comes from plus living in a majority yt country. and many africans have been copying the wig warrior trend so, its a cycle. itll be easier to establish a natural hair movement in the continent tho i believe by shaming relaxers and not shaving african girls heads in schools
I live in America. As you all know people who look like tend to hide their hair with a lot of techniques😅 Same thing with my fellows africans sister. For me wearing your hair is more easier when you accept yourself as you are and can see and feel the deepest pretty privilege from others❤ I am not saying it is easy you just try evryday your best. Thank you for the video 🎉
Did the big chop in 2010… got locs in 2015… cut my locs in 2021… currently relearning how to care for my loose natural hair again. May get locs again, but I’ll never go back to the creamy crack.
Lmao, I can relate. I find that being patient with it and working with a professional natural hair stylist, especially in the initial twa phase, really helps.♥
The natural hair movement of 2010ish didn’t fail, it just wasn’t for black women only. It was mainly mixed and mulatto women with type 3 hair making products and content on RUclips, and they got the most popular because their hair was the hair everyone wanted/wanted to see.
I feel free wearing my hair ❤️. I can feel the slow trickle effect as my confidence boosts over time the more I wear it. I've always loved my natural hair more than any other hairstyle. Like you i want it to be longer. But we'll get there in time. ☺️ I agree that maybe it won't ever be the world'sstandard. But also like you I definitely don't want the majority of us to wait on that before we think its okay to be ourselves the way God intended.
Part of the problem is women in the spotlight, like Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé Knowles, Rihanna, Cardi B, etc. prefer to rock a European standard of beauty. This is what the world sees, especially teens and children. It’s actually quite sad because their counterparts, like Julia Robert’s, Senator Warren, Taylor Swift would NEVER rock an African based hair style. 🤔 So who’s the smarter ones here.
All black people gotta do is gatekeep and stick to their own beautt standards.. Thats it. Its not that hard. Black people CHOOSE to put other hair textures on the pedestal. Sometimes i think im the only black person with pride, dignity, and integrity., 🙄
Interesting ! I prefer short hair, I loooove a bomb tapered cut. It is so sexy and feminine. I like the aesthetics and the convenience of it, it better suits my lifestyle 😊
Hey girl, I sent you an email, I think I received a similar ugc request as you did in the video you posted 8 mo ago and I don’t want to get sc *med. im wondering if you could help by telling me if it looks sketchy. Thx ❤
I don’t understand why people are « shaming » people who want long coily hair because… every hair type usually want long hair especially in women. That doesn’t mean a person with straight hair hate their because he want longer hair same with wavy, curly and coily.

natural hair movement def didn't fail me! 👏🏿👏🏿
Well, back in the 70s, we just wearing our afros and did not really consider it a movement. It really wasn't the big deal they make it in this day.
Afro hair was mainstream in the 70s.

I had natural hair and got locs in the end. I like that it’s still natural and low maintenance
Love these statment earrings on you ❤

@@cinnacinnamonrollgirl It's more Afro-American women who are obsessed with having loose curly hair, more than African women.
