There are over 450 known versions of the Bible in English alone. So finding the true Word of God won't be easy to find! Don't get baby or children's books if you want them to know God. Get a Torah with the prophets and take the time to explain it to them, don't look for the easy way out, learn it yourself first then teach them. No disrespect but your husband should be doing this as the spiritual leader of the home. As for the "Jesus Storybook Bible" goes ... Burn it!!!

"don't want to have to constantly correct what I'm reading to my child" YES!! This is why we have abandoned history curricula in our homeschool. They're all so packed with LIES that we were taught, too, so 99% of parents don't even realize it! I got so frustrated having to constantly stop and say, "actually..." or "the (real) reason why _______" every lesson. Some things were so egregiously wrong that it made me sick to my stomach to read. Also, we use a Children's Bible that I had growing up (cannot recall which one and I'm not home to go look), which simplifies and paraphrases it, but we also use the *actual* Bible to flesh it out and give context. It's all so frustrating.

I'm so glad you did this! I have this book but haven't opened it yet. Now I probably won't....I really like the BJU Press bible curriculum as I feel it does a good job at paraphrasing the bible while still keeping the Scriptures true.

We’ve not used this book!!! I do being Jesus into the Old Testament when we see it but thru discussing it!!! I understand that bible stories should be paraphrased not tell me what it is form a persons point of view!!! Our Church teaches us how to shape views from the Bible!!! I’m glad we haven’t used this book and I fully agree with ur view on this book!!! We walked out of a church who teaches like this book!!! We often read from the Bible as a family!!!

Thank you for sharing this! 😊 We read the actual Bible for our family devotion time and any of the Bible curriculum that we use, I read the story from my Bible instead of reading whatever paraphrase story the curriculum uses. 😊 My husband has always been very purposeful about making sure we read the actual scripture, not a story form.

We read through this storybook bible multiple times with my then three year old. I thought it did a great job of pointing to Jesus in every story it includes. I was especially moved by how Jesus’ anguish on the cross was portrayed, specifically when He was separated from the Father on our behalf. My husband shared similar concerns about the liberties taken in the text and we’ve since gotten rid of it.

We have this bible and we haven’t read it yet. I always thought this Bible was so overrated though from what I had looked into. I didn’t understand why it was so popular, I don’t like these points you brought up either. I completely agree with you we can’t add thoughts to it and changing it a lot and this sounds like it’s being changed or added to in many ways. Very interesting! I definitely agree. I definitely want to look at this book closer before we consider reading it. Thanks for sharing!

I don't think leaving the shelf in the baby's room is a good idea. My 2 year old would have all the books shredded and would be sitting on the top shelf screaming at the top of his lungs because he doesn't know how to get down

Where did you find your grade assessments?

Last year my husband graciously gave up his office for us to have a homeschool room. I’m currently in the process of giving it back! As the year went on we found ourselves doing more school back at the big table and the whole home classroom just wasn’t really what we thought it would be lol. I’m back to big table and some bookshelves myself! Thanks for sharing.

I like picking and choosing certain pages from different planners and things I make myself too. Nice planner!

I bought a pdf planner a few yrs ago and it was ok but I needed other pages so I use it alongside other pages so I have a custom planner!!! We have to track attendance so I bought the school nest attendance tracker!!! Our homeschool advisor has no issues with a monthly book log!!! It works well for me!!! My older kids record what they do and my younger kids check it off!!!

In our family we travel a lot but idk how much my younger kids understand maps!!! They understand the tropical part of the world well tho thru experience!!! These books look awesome!!! My older kids have seen blueprints when we built a house!!! Even tho we now live In Hawaii we still use Aussie geographical terms!!! My older kids asked to see a space telescope so we went to see the volcano at the same time!!! We are on a different island but it was a quick flight to see it!!! I teach explorers in social studies but idk if my younger kids understand it yet!!!

Those are excellent books to get our little ones started in geography. 🙌☺️

With our adventurous life we end up travelling 6 to 7 months and we love homeschooling in different places in our home and on the island!!! My older kids wanted lockers for their stuff!!! They love homeschooling but want the feel of a school even tho we don’t do school at home!!!

I can see how Flashcards are needed!!! I find doing phonics with older kids so games don’t happen!!! Even my older kids use letter tiles but I have one who uses his scrabble board!!! We bought cursive Flashcards for my older kids to read history documentary better and i wish we had done more work earlier!!! We just buy separate readers as we choose them from our Kids instrests!!! Sorry I can’t spell!!! Any readers in a curriculum that are fun I’ll buy!!!

We have the piggies one but this looks even more fun! I think the 3 little pigs maybe for 4-5+ so it’s kind of difficult for my son to understand.

I love the single player logic games for my kids to do during quiet time - this one looks really cute!

I just got the Three Little Piggies game by Smart Games and introduced it to my 4 year old last week. She is really enjoying the puzzles and using the pieces to retell the 3 little pigs story.
