The shaman class is just so cool, it makes me want to combine shaman and bard with my friend! Beautiful mod 🩷
As for recommendations, jellyfish drop a "coil" that wraps around the strings of the flails you throw causing it all to be a big hitbox that deals mediocre damage

cool mod, I just wish it would be more vanilla-friendly with the animations and smoothness
i actually really like that the sword always crits with it's sweep attack since that lets it interact with other modded items in an interesting way i do wish that there were items that werent restricted to super early game though, maybe multiple tiers of swords throughout the game gotten in different ways? i just think its a little disappointing all this great content wont be usable for most of a playthrough, with basically only the Mace being consistently usable

My channel name is the french term for a plant commonly used in infusions I do not know if it has anything to do with vampires, but it being a common plant makes it believable

good video! a few things i wanted to point out though. - i feel like it would make more sense to carry over the crit while falling mechanic that minecraft has on the sword, should it not? - the mace's animation is fine, but i feel like it'd be worth also taking a note out of weapons like the sleepy octopod and give them more impact when landing a hit on an enemy. maybe have the mace clank back if it hits something and give it a nice meaty sound effect to make it feel much more intense. - perhaps add some normal stone to the mob spawner's box to give it more of an old structure vibe, i feel like just the gray bricks make it look a little TOO maintained, even with all the moss - the mace stands out so much compared to the other two that honestly i feel like the sword and trident could use some more to make them stand out. why not apply some fun enchantment effects onto their attacks? you could give the diamond sword a special sweeping effect like how minecraft has it so it has a pseudo-piercing true-melee projectile, sort of like how the true excalibur has except spawned once upon swiping an enemy. you could additionally consider a channelling effect on the trident, or maybe reworking the right click to instead be a riptide-style effect that launches the player and trident at an enemy, and gives them something of a shield bonk as part of the weapon's design? i feel like that would make these weapons a lot of fun to use and fit them well
Thanks for the feedback - I don't think so. It would make the sword functionally identical to the mace, and it already has a special crit mechanic implemented - I actually really dislike weapons that add too many visual effects, screenshake and whatsnot. ESPECIALLY if t's an early game (in this case pre-boss) item. I have, and will always try to avoid using these - The goal of the structure is to mimic a minecraft mob spawner, Terraria doesn't have a cobblestone equivalent, and blanding it with the stone would just take away from its minecrafty/blocky look, along with making it more different from the reference - The weapons added by the mod are pre-boss items, and already have more features tied to them than any vanilla weapon at this point of the game. I want to avoid feature bloat, and simple effects are the way to go for it Adding "enchanted" versions as early harmode upgrades to the items isn't out of the question though, I will consider it if people show interest in the mod
@@VerveineYT i feel as though giving the mace just a little bit of impact with a sound effect and a bit of particles really wouldn’t make it super flashy, i feel like it’d make it more satisfying without adding much. but everything else i can understand. good stuff regardless, i love your modding work, these videos are very fun to watch :3

does this mod work with secret seeds, such as dont dig up, no traps having tons of traps from the mod alongside vanilla traps etc?
It should work just fine, I never got any feedback about it not being the case :)
i think being able to use your captured enemies alongside minions would be cool, as in summoned minions would reduce the number of capture slots available by 2 per minion slot used. It could even be a config option incase people want it or not.

How about a wind-charge mace that triggers an explosion and launches you up when you hit a mob or the ground? I believe the mace had an enchantment like this in the snapshots, which ended up being taken out for being too op. Well, for Terraria, a weapon like this would be pretty weak actually.
I was originally planning to add enchantments, allowing to upgrade the weapons into early hardmode counterparts (with souls of light + crystal shards) but ran out of time, and eventually scrapped that. The sword was going to get Sweeping Edge (larger slash), the Trident Loyalty or Riptide, and the Mace the bouncing one (I don't know how it's called either lol). A 4th weapon was also planned, but I couldn't come up with something satisfying and unique enough for it, so the sprite is in the mod files, but unused (it's a splash potion). I sent a longer explanation of the mod scope in response to @marr1235's comment if you are interested

@VerveineYT That is upsetting, but also makes sense considering most people would assume its just copy-paste content without checking it out. Maybe try adding it to a mod pack with some of your other small mods like better caves to get people to try it out
pretty cool but this videos mod feels so weak in comparison to your others probably because minecraft weapons aren't really that innovative in a terraria game other than that looks nice
Eh, I think I did a decent job at making the weapons pretty unique, despite what they are? It is however true that they are weak, mostly because they are very early game. My next video will showcase a mod with more "powerful" items 🎉

It would be nice to use these weapons not only in early pre-HM, but also in every tier in terraria To do so, adding a crafting station called "Enchanting Table" crafted by few diamonds, obsidians, and a book.(Since book is originally post-skeletron, maybe granting a alternative way to obtain this item early pre-HM is needed as well) New crafting recipes: Diamond sword + some EoW/BoC materials => Diamond sword sharpness I Diamond sword sharpness I + Post-Queen bee material => Diamond sword sharpness II Diamond sword sharpness II + Ichor/Cursed flame => Diamond sword sharpness III Diamond sword sharpness III + Hallowed Bar + Mechanical boss souls => Diamond sword sharpness IV Diamond sword sharpness IV + few ectoplasms => Diamond sword sharpness V With each tier damage is incremented For other weapons we can imagine similar enchanting mechanics implemented as well
I really don't know about it, as it will likely get old really fast in terms of mechanics The mod is meant to spice up the very early game a bit, but not spread thorough the entire game Some of my other projects will likely fill up that nice, with more unique content :)

Very cool mod, but if you can’t 1hit the moon lord with the mace… then what’s even the point….. *ok now for the actual feedback part* I really like the way you handled all of these weapons, even if some are… arguably better than others. However there are a couple changes I could envision and I will share them now (because when else would I) Starting with: The Diamond Sword. I respect the choice to make it not be like other swords, but the range pretty much dampens it’s effectiveness early game. It’d be a nice touch if you added a small extension to the blade (like a sort of sweep or afterimage) for when you fully charge the blade, to reflect how in Minecraft using a sword at its full potential will hit multiple enemies with a unique little effect. The damage is also pretty disappointing, although I suppose it makes sense considering how easily you could obtain it. Up next: The trident. This one’s probably the most iffy weapon out of all the options (excluding the weak points synergy, which is cool). Personally I don’t mind the direction you went with the weapon, but it’s a little underwhelming and definitely the worst out of all available options. First of all, I just want to point out that you didn’t want people to be forced to collect the trident after it had been thrown, yet the debuff kind of… forces you to do that anyway. I get that it’s so you can’t just throw your trident into a void and then not be able to get it back, but it also just makes the weapon feel very slow overall to use, while also having a low DPS. I think some general changes could be made, such as amplifying the throw damage the more you charge it up, as well as just a general damage increase for the melee attack. I also think you have an ample opportunity for an upgraded version of this weapon, but I’ll get into that later… I’ve ran out of introductory words to use: The mace. Probably the most powerful weapon out of the entire roster, and despite the fact you said it’s not a boss killer, it downright outperforms a lot of weapons in progression up to the eater/brain. Being able to do 200 damage from a slight height is no joke. This is the one weapon that is so good early on in fact, that I think it either needs a durability feature, or just a straight up nerf. Having this weapon paired with how early you can get the goblin tinkerer, makes for a killer combo that honestly could probably take you even past skeletron (although it may not be the most viable option). Also, and this is just a nitpick here, it’s very annoying having the arm not track the mace as it’s falling (as all other weapons do) and it just makes the mace feel sort of… unpredictable in a way. But that may just be me. Finally (unless there’s only 3 weapons and I’m dumb): Ok so technically… not a new weapon… but the oxidized copper short sword…. It’s cool I guess. (Might be funny to have the blade of grass require one, but probably just mostly tedious). And that’s it for the weapons. Now on to additions that I think you could add to this mod. FIRST enchantments. This provides a solid way to upgrade your weapons throughout the game, so that they get a little more playtime and usability. Firstly, for the diamond sword, I think just your general sharpness and fire aspect upgrades (maybe also looting now that I think about it) would do wonders in bringing this weapon into the spotlight for pre wall of flesh gameplay. Now I’m not sure exactly how you’d go about this, being true to form or just obtaining all 3 books and then enchanting the sword, but (I ran out of filler) Secondly, the trident. This is a great opportunity to really bring the vigor back to the trident, having the enchantment that lets it strike down lightning when raining, and returning to you when thrown. (No I don’t know the names of the enchantments). You can also apply your sharpness and whatnot, but these two enchants would be essential for giving this weapon some much needed use in a playthrough. Finally the mace. I don’t know what the enchantments are, or even if it has any. Just…. Just make it cooler I guess. Maybe give it sunglasses? Yeah that’ll work. All in all, you’ve made a great mod here that has a lot of open potential to become its own thing somewhere down the line, and I respect all the time and effort you put into it, because it really does show. And now, I shall return to whence I came, to await another upload……

Hello, thanks for the nice comment There are a few things to keep in mind regarding the weapons balance : - The Diamond Sword already has a larger sweep when doing a charged attack, over spamclicking. I am also pretty sure you could deal more damage with it than other broadswords of the same level, simply because on the occasion where you will be able to do an attack, it'll deal that much more damage compared to a normal broadsword, as you won't be able to hit most of the time with them anyways. - The Trident is actually in my opinion the strongest of the 3 weapons, especially in an exploration context where it was meant to shine. Making its stab damage stronger would mean that it would outdps the vanilla trident (from water chests) in every scenario, essentially powercreeping it out of any use despite being arguably easier to acquire. The throw already deals more damage as it is being charged, although that wasn't mentionned in the video - From my testing, the mace is really worse than it appears at first glance. You don't the the opportunity to jump-bash that often in normal gameplay (especially non-heavily modded), and this will often lead to the player ending in weird situations where they can easily take damage, especially if they missed a hit. It is more a fun weapon than a viable one. Regardless, I am obviously open to tweak the numbers for each weapon individually, whether it is charge time, swing or throw speed, or damage numbers. I'll just wait a bit for feedback from players on the orchid discord or the workshop page :) Regarding enchantments, I was originally planning to add them, allowing to upgrade the weapons into early hardmode counterparts (with souls of light + crystal shards) but ran out of time, and eventually scrapped that. That is not planned, I would like them to stay as little independant "add-ons" that can be added to various playthrough. They will however -unless state otherwise- remain compatible with each other :)
