It might. You can absolutely manipulate your ability to place content across the website page horizontally by using layered (stacked) strips. Just make sure you are checking on smaller screens as well to ensure elements/text don't overlap on the smaller screens. : )

Here's what I do. Near renewal time I create a second Wix site in my account. Just a dummy site. I upgrade that site when a sale comes up. Then I switch the premium accounts - the fresh new premium account to my business site and the old almost finished premium account to the dummy site. Then I cancel the old account, make sure auto renewal is turned off and just let it die a natural death. Shhhhh. Don't tell anyone. : )

Thanks for the kind words! You can't add icons to the regular menu - you'd need to come up with a workaround. Here are a couple off the top of my head - You could create hover boxes for each menu title and line them up to look like a horizontal menu. You can put anything you like in a hover box and they could change color when clicked. Or, you could use the Advanced Menu Function and a Container box. I haven't done a video on this yet. An example is on the site www.vrdnt.farm if you hover over "CSA Subscription" in the horizontal menu you'll see the container box with images and a video - you can put anything in there and it's part of the horizontal menu. So, lots to play with! : )

Hi there. This tutorial is for Wix Editor, not Wix Studio. In my opinion Wix Studio is waaaay to complex unless you are an experienced designer. In Wix Editor you can easily overlap elements. The best way to do that is to overlap different strips. You can see examples of this in the premade strips that are available when you go to add a strip or section. Hope that helps!

Hi there! If you go into where you organize your gallery media there should be a "Replace Image" option under the image of the image (lol) above where the title and description are located. You can compress the images and then just go through and replace them. This way you have the option to only replace the biggest ones if you like.

Thanks so much for the positive feedback! Also, know that you likely could have used the "back" buttons and restored your menu. You could also have used "Site History" which is in the "Site" dropdown right at the upper left-hand corner of the browser next to the word Wix. There you can go back and see your site at any time in it's history, who published it and what day. You can go back and restore it to a previous version.

If it's not a font that is in Wix you'll have to purchase a font and upload it. I too wish Wix offered more pretty script fonts. My favorite place for buying fonts is called Creative Market. You'll find thousands of them there. The font I use in my name is called Amalfi Coast. Hope that helps!

Hi there. I just had a look at your website. That's a really interesting idea - I don't think I've ever seen someone use a vertical menu like this! For some reason the menu is just not sticking to the column. I'd play with it. Make the column really long and move the menu around until I see the blue "Attach to Column" alert comes up. This WILL work - you just need to play around with it a bit. How is this working in mobile?

Hi there! Glad you are finding the videos useful. Okay, so you can't strictly wrap text around an image. You'd need to split the text into two sections and put some at the side of it (for example) and some underneath. This text will stay put on all devices if it's within gridlines. I think one reason for this is so that when you go to edit on mobile you can move the text more easily. If it were attached to the image, wrapping it, it would be hard to format on a phone. What do you mean "I want to put copy in columns and spread across the page"? That seems straightforward. Just make site-wide columns and place text inside the gridlines in the columns. Do you mean something else? Let me know.

Your domain will be fine. After you purchase your monthly plan you can connect a domain name from anywhere - GoDaddy, for example. The buttons to start this process should be pretty obvious. Wix gives yearly subscribers a free domain for a year - after that you have to pay for it just like everywhere else. However using a Wix domain is not mandatory. You can use a domain from anywhere. Yes, of course. I believe that is covered in this video. Simply click on the section, and then click on the pop-up bubble that says "Change Background". You can change it to an image, color, gradient or video. Whatever you wish.

Hi again! : ) Do you mean can you convert a site from Editor X (which is now Wix Studio) into the classic Wix Editor? I'm not sure that's possible - it may not be. I don't work in Editor X or Wix Studio so I don't know. I only use the classic editor. If you can't covert the site I would just copy and paste all the content into a new classic editor site.

It's really very easy. Go to www.wix.com/contact and follow the prompts through until you get to the part where they ask if you want a "Callback". Enter your phone number and request a callback. You usually get called very quickly - like 5-10 minutes. And then you'll have live support!

Hi Susan, I am extremely nosey and Googled you. Is your site Day By Day? If it is, holy heck do you have a lot of strips and columns!! I can see why the change over to Sections would be driving you nuts. I'm doing videos on mobile formatting next, but even I would need a bit of time to format your site for mobile. You have a LOT of elements there that would need to be rearranged. My first suggestion - that is kind of useless now - is that when you build a website you have to think of building it with mobile in mind. So you would build one page, format that page for mobile, and then duplicate that page and change the content. And so on. Your sections may have rearranged on mobile - that is true. But, I don't 'think they should be overlapping. Stips can overlap, or lay themselves, but sections should not be layering. I'll see what I can do about getting a mobile formatting video up asap. And if I've totally got the wrong site for you - let me know what your site really is and I'll take a look.

Yes it is Day by Day! and yes I do have a lot. The site has evolved over the last 10 years and now we have a section for members and a huge section for customers which contains a lot of resources. These resource pages are the ones giving me the most problems. I have approached Wix twice and they couldn't offer any solution. Anyway, I tried bigger sections and that was worse so now I am trying smaller sections with just one or two strips (after watching your video). Fingers crossed this works, because this page has to go live tomorrow ready for the new school term! @@biritsimonsen

I have been so anxious about this and wasted hours on it. Twice I approached Wix support and they didn't help me, and it was such a simple solution. Not impressed with them! Hi there! You can add a link to a resume (or any pdf document by going to the Site Pages and Menu tab in the left hand side vertical menu in the editor (right below the big + sign and the sections tab. Click on "Site Pages and Menu" and then you'll see "+Add Menu Item" at the bottom. Click on that and you'll see "Link". You want to add a Link. Then just follow the prompts to add a link and link the link 🤣 to your PDF document which you should have uploaded into your media files (just like uploading an image). If you make this link/page visible it should appear in your top of website menu bar just like all the other pages. Let me know if that helps! : )

The image version you see in the editor does not move - no matter what screen size you are on. When you go into preview you are shown what the image will look like in the screen size you are using at the time. I believe this is the easy answer to why the image looks different in the Editor and the Preview. Applying parallax will only make this more complex. So, always keep checking in the preview. Once I'm happy with the preview I check the different screen sizes as a final check.

@@RunAgainRover My preference is to put the lead magnet lower down on the home page AND have a pop-up about 5 seconds after the viewer lands on the home page. This is what I've done on my site. If you are offering freebies where you are not getting a name and email I would put those lower on the page or on another page with a link from the home page. : )

@@biritsimonsen makes sense. I’ve always relied on a button in the hero section and haven’t tried a pop-up. Or maybe a pop-up and a button leading to the same freebie because it could give us a couple of opportunities for people who automatically close pop-ups without reading them?

Yes, you can use all these form capabilities with the free version of Wix. The free version will have some limitations though. You will only be allowed 4 forms and the number of form fields is limited to 10 I believe. Honestly, I would never use the free version alone for a business website. The major difference is that you can't connect your own domain name to a free version and that's just not going to look professional. Your second question is interesting. And there is a workaround I think might work. What if you used form field titles and then used form field placeholders. The form field placeholders could be the same color as the field when in regular mode and then on hover mode they could appear. The user would have to type their input over the message though. Just an idea. Now I've got to try this. What a great idea! : )

@@rororororo123 Some form content gets saved automatically as a contact. Some form content you must set up to save. Here is a link to the support article for this: support.wix.com/en/article/wix-forms-saving-your-form-data-to-your-contacts. I'm not sure how much is available in the free version of Wix vs the premium accounts. Do have a look at my video on how to get the cheapest Wix account possible. They can pay monthly or use one of the 50% off sales. If you absolutely must have the free version I think you could make it work within the constraints. I hope! : )

Regarding what I’d like to see, I’m presently getting stuck with two things - making pages that look fine for desktops but that look awful when I click to phone view. It feels daunting and like I’m actually building two sites and not just one. Next are the predetermined section sizes for text. They’re so narrow and look constrained, even when I shift the layout. I looked at your site and like the way you have a navy blue section with text that goes wider than the ones I see in my editor. I can’t figure out how to do that and would love some guidance. Thank you!
