UK BBQ Week Day 5: Pizza
Просмотров 2112 года назад
UK BBQ Week Day 5 and we cook pizza on a BBQ (rather than a dedicated Pizza oven)! As we needed super hot and constant temps, we opted for the Monolith Pro Series 2. Our pizza stone needed a bit of a burn off so whilst bringing it up to temp, I placed it in the position of the deflector plate. It could have done with a bit longer of a burn off butt it was good enough to go Setting the Monolith ...

UK BBQ Week Day4: Winner Winner Chicken Dinner
Просмотров 2422 года назад
One of our favourites, a Greek Chicken Kebab (Kebob)! We cubed up some MASSIVE chicken breasts and marinated in a greek spice rub with olive oil and lemon juice for a couple of hours in the fridge. We made some basic naan breads but wish they had been a little bigger so will double it up next time: To cook the naan breads, I angled the Monolith Plancha to try and recreate the Tandoor effect so ...

UK BBQ Week Day2 - Sunday Roast
Просмотров 2472 года назад
Here we cook a Sunday Roast for #ukbbqweek entirely on the Monolith Pro Series 2! We start off with a rolled pork shoulder with a simple salt and pepper rub over a Pirex of water, apple cider vinegar, carrot, onion, & garlic. Once the pork was about 30 mins out, we took out the Pirex and poured smoking hot lard over the pork to drip on the drip pan under, brought that back up to temp and put th...

Hot BBQ Tips, Fast! Oversized Brisket on the Monolith Kamado Classic Pro Series 2
Просмотров 3 тыс.2 года назад
Today, well over two days, we cook an extremely nice British Brisket that is too big for our Monolith Kamado Classic Pro Series 2. The Brisket is a 7.5kg Black Rock Mountain Brisket - XM GOLD from John Davidsons Butchers. It needed very little trimming and was the best looking British brisket I’ve ever seen! The only problem, it was too big. So we found a nice clean smoking log split to lay the...

    Great vid. I have the old version that doesn’t come with the BBQ guru intake and am looking into the possibility of drilling the holes myself with a glass/ceramic drill. Any chance you happen to know the hole diameters and positioning?

    NO, Don't buy, nothing but issues. A lot of vids on unboxing, they look great in the box. UltraQ Sucks, I tried to return it they say it works, It does maybe for a minute off and on constant issues, but temp was always off Tested it in boiling water closest I got it way 12 degrees off.

      I have a Monolith classic pro series 1.0 that I purchased 4 years ago and I don't regret buying it and zero problems. It was a very difficult choice between the pro series 1.0 and the kamado joe classic 3. In the end it was the price being slightly cheaper and the stainless steel (instead of powder coated mild steel) that swayed it for me. Unfortunately I have not used a kamado joe so I cant compare sorry. However if your still interested in finding out a little more on the Monolith grills before making a decision, there is some more details on the woodsmokeforum.

    This looks great! Just curious about the drip trays. Should they stay shiny and silver like this? Mine went tarnished and almost rusted after the first cook

    • @knightsoftheroundgrill
      @knightsoftheroundgrill Год назад

      With exposure to heat, all metals will change colour. Mine are much darker in colour now in places, it's normal. Mine also now have patches of pure black which is where oils in the tray have been heated and polymerised bonding to the metal (seasoning!). They are stainless steal though so should not rust, are sure it is rust? Try using a Brillo pad on those areas to see how they clean up.

      @Roen265 Месяц назад

      Thin stainless is particularly susceptible to changes under high heat. It's to be expected. Long winded answer is that heat will drive change in the chromium portion of the steel and allow rust to form.

    Some good descriptions of why to set exhaust closure and other little discussed settings when using this bbq guru. Seems bbq guru should have these details in the product manual?? Maybe I received a use products that doesn't have anything but the installation sheet of where things go, nothing else and issues that others seem to have not disgusted or didn't know. Thanks

    For me, the fat hasn’t been rendered down (might be a trimming issue), and it doesn’t look as juicy as it could be. I usually go hot and fast using the boat method for wrapping, which works better for me.

    can you be able to do an full review video on the new gasket which I think is a big plus, has a lot of people with the old gaskets like my self with a Lgbe don’t have time or the hassle to be changing gaskets after high heat pizza and Pyrex cleaning, cleaning which I think is quite important as a lot of kamado look really blacked inside with oil residue and black smokeand burnt of gaskets it looking nice..

    Nice detailed video on the monolith! I have a monolith classic pro 1.0 bbq guru edition that I bought in 2019 that's still looking new (well, on the outside haha) and I'm still surprised that I don't see much content on these particular kamado's. I am a sheet metal worker by trade and its a little sad to see the stainless steel is overlooked massively compared to the other brands! a huge plus. One other advantage is being able to 'spin' (hope that makes sense) the cooking grids on the supporting rings to quickly access lower levels/firebox rather than lifting them out. By the way, do you know if the smart grid system is different between the pro 1.0 series and the pro 2.0 series? thanks

    • @knightsoftheroundgrill
      @knightsoftheroundgrill 2 года назад

      I couldn't agree me! The stainless tell is proper material to be used on these premium kamado's. Other brands should take note! That's a great tip - I will try and add that into a future video, thank you. Yes, from what I understand the Pro 1 and the Pro 2 has the same system. Appreciate you comment

      @@knightsoftheroundgrill Thanks for the reply, i have my eye on the new Monolith fire pot😋. One last question....would I be able to upgrade my gasket to the pro 2.0 style? I currently have the old school felt style which is fine, except for cleaning like you mentioned Thanks again

    • @knightsoftheroundgrill
