The Hunter Gatherer
США
Добавлен 18 мар 2020
This channel is going to show a wide variety of videos. I will be recording hunting, fishing, hiking, scouting, gardening, transplanting, bee keeping and many other outdoor activities. We also plan on showing how we process, preserve and prepare the items we harvest. Many of these videos will be solo but hopefully most of them will be with friends and family. I love to introduce people to the outdoors. I hope to document some amazing people doing amazing things. I believe the outdoors is even more exciting with someone to share it with. I hope you all enjoy the content we share with you.

my last day of gun season NY 2023 - Buck Down - Part 2
Просмотров 2962 месяца назад
My last day of gun season in 2023 was one of my greatest hunting days in a while. everything seemed to come together. I had my best friend (Ian) and my amazing wife Joy (also my best friend) with me in the woods. I had already harvested a mature doe and we were on our way to go home for lunch. One last hunt before we left and God worked everything out for me. I hope you enjoy this video. I save...

How to field dress a deer diy. I have been hunting whitetail deer for 30 years. I have field dressed my own deer and I have helped many people field dress their first deer. There are many ways to field dress a deer. I have changed some things from how I started. This is my current method. I have had many people ask me how to do it or to post a video. I shot this beautiful doe early in the morni...

The weather was beautiful. a perfect chilly morning that had the deer on their feet early. The last day of gun season can be stressful sometimes, but not this day. It was an amazing day and amazing hunt!

Another day of deer hunting 2023. I have been waiting for snow all season. Too bad its 3 days old and melting fast. If you know me then you know I love fresh snow and long walks in the woods. lol Tracking deer is one of my favorite things to do. Some days it works out and some days the snow melts and your GoPro battery dies. It was a great day and I saw a lot of deer!

Another day deer hunting in 2023. I have hunted this spot twice now. I gathered some intel and now I brought someone with a doe tag that could possibly harvest a buck or doe in this spot. I put Landon in a great location for a chance at harvesting a deer. I had great hope for this hunt. Lets see how it all unfolds.

Deer hunting in 2023 was a great! Of course, you have some great days, and you have some slower days. Thanksgiving Day has always been a great day to hunt. I don't think I can remember a Thanksgiving Day that I wasn't deer hunting. For me, deer hunting on Thanksgiving Day is a long-time tradition. Getting out into the woods is a necessity. I've had some success harvesting deer on thanksgiving i...

Deer hunting in New York is one of my favorite pastimes. I have been deer hunting in New York for 30 years now. It's hard to believe that it's been that long! I don't get out every day, and I might only get a couple hours to hunt. I try to make the most of every moment and I truly enjoy the time I get. I had pretty good deer activity on this hunt and had a couple of deer come in pretty close. A...

Another day deer hunting in New York. It was a short hunt. But I got a lot of intel for the future. Deer hunting isn't always about the harvest. It's about putting all of the pieces together and making them work to your advantage. It will pay off in the future hunts. Trust the process!

This is a video of the opening day deer season 2023 in NY. My parents own 110 acres that is bordered by public land. We have stayed at "Deer Camp" and hunted opening day the last 3 years. It's been a great family time that we all look forward to every year. I can't wait to do it again this year. I hope you enjoy the video of our opening day of deer season hunt.
new shotgun for my daughter | Ithaca Model 37 Deerslayer

I bought a new shotgun for my daughter. Well, it's new to her. It's actually an older 20-gauge Ithaca model 37 deerslayer that we got on gunbroker. My daughter is a left-handed shooter. The model 37 is a bottom feed and eject, which makes it a great option for right-handed or left-handed shooters.

I missed a buck with my bow | NY Archery hunting 2023

I missed a buck with my bow. That isn't unheard of. I have missed before and I'm sure I will miss again. The crazy thing is that I missed a buck with my bow, not once, not twice, not three times. I missed him 4 times!! I'm not sure why. After the hunt I shot my bow at 20 and 30 yards and the sights were dead on. More practice shots from my saddle might fix the issue. I'm glad another buck came ...

Excellent video, thanks very much.
Yeah I'm lucky I'm not a mama dog
I made this and the it was to juicy!
Do you have a video on that stopper not that you tied when at the top during your hunt?
Your dog is hilarious. I have a lab that is constantly breathing heavy like that for all the audio to capture. Nice video.
👎👎for the low audio
Adorable ❤❤❤❤❤
It's July5 and watched your video again, just wondering if you had any luck with the muzzleloader after sighting back in, good luck there in 24 season, I'm hoping for a good one here in KY. 🙏
Nice job showing us the entire event: train trail etc. thank you.
@loissayers1413 I'm glad you enjoyed it. We have done the bike trip 3 times now and we thought others would like to see.
I’m so glad I found this, everyone does blackberry cobbler never black raspberry. I figure it’s probably the same concept but thanks for doing this!
Great information for the beginner like myself. I will be Saddle Hunting for the upcoming 2024 deer season for the first time. I will be recovering from a total knee replacement I'm getting done June 20th. Do you think one sticking is easier on the knees compared to just buying 4 steps?
I think it's the same or a little easier. It's less gear to bring in and quieter because you don't have 2 aluminum sticks to clang together. Either way, you will have to climb. If your knee isn't ready for that, then it will still be difficult. My first year, I used the SRT climbing method with a hand and foot ascender. That might be a good option for you with your knee?
Humans are dumb af. She didn’t need him to intervene unless there was an emergency.
New subscriber. Im up in 9a only heard 2 birds this year and couldn't make it happen on video. Congrats on the nice bird and god bless. My buddy has a camp in 9p love that area.
Thanks for the sub! Sorry it was a rough year for you. Hopefully the mild spring will equal more birds for you next spring!
Definitely fingers crossed. We have no shortage of nice bucks in 9a. Hopefully the turkey population will bounce back to the numbers they used to be.
Oh my goodness I want to do this! Maybe we can plan it this year with you! Do you do it in summer?
Oh, just heard you say july!
Beautiful area, Looks like New England.
Good information.
I hate when that happens
The deer drive?
I have the same exact issue with the exact vehicle. I’ve changed plugs as you did and it corrected the issue for a while at least. Was your fix a final one?
Great hunt! Kept me in suspense! Turkey nuggets are the best!!
Thanks babe!
what county do you hunt ?
Allegany county in 9P
@@TheHunterGatherer so you turkey hunt the same area as you deer hunt
Monstrum makes a red dot mount that sits extremely low I switched to a lot better
I'll have to look into it. The sumtoy mount works pretty well for me.
The wonky comb building is from inconsistent foundation waxing, correct?
That's what I've gathered.
I see that this video is a little old but I Had to comment on something you said . I would not put water in with your wax . Using that cooker you do not need water in the top tray . Thanks
I thought it would work better as a double boiler instead of just straight heat. Thanks for letting me know!
@@TheHunterGatherer that is your double boiler with the water down below . The crockpot is heating your water an your hot water is heating your top pan . But yes if you have dirty nasty wax an you are trying to clean it up then you put water in the top pan with your wax so the trash an your dirty water will say on the bottom after it cools because your clean wax will float to the top. But yes to just to heat wax for like what you are doing there you do not need water in the top pan because the hot water below is heating your top pan with your wax in it . Hope this helps .
Yo that windex and rope trick worked like a charm thanks
Glad it worked out!
My wife has a coffee addiction too! lol 😂
Yeah, it's a serious issue! Lol
Better luck next time.
My oil pressure gauge on my 1991 cherokee is not working. I suspect this very specific piece is either not working properly or damaged. Have you noticed anything on the reading when that happened?
call the taxidermist
I was tossing it back and forth. He's at the taxidermist right now. Lol
Nice buck!
It sure was. It was a bummer that his tine was broken, but it gave him character.
Great way to end the season 😃
It sure was! I've had a couple of days when I've doubled up. It was a great day!
Great presentation!
Thanks a lot, brother!
I eat the tenderloins
Definitely! They are usually breakfast the next morning.
@@TheHunterGatherer try them wrapped in bacon
I do the backstrap that way. Stuffed south mushroom and cream cheese.
@@TheHunterGatherer that actually sounds good I am not to sure about the cream cheese though
I have a bone saw to split the pelvic bone
I used to split the pelvis.I stopped about 7 years ago or so.
@@TheHunterGatherer wouldn't that make it a little easier to field dress the deer ?
I have seen a deer being dropped off live weight to the butcher and the butcher said after the guy left that he was going to charge him more
As he should! I wouldn't even think they would take it. Lol
Tip: each time you check the target, circle new shots with red marker
Agreed! Sometimes, when I'm going to the range, there is so much to take I always forget something. Lol
Jason u should get a butt out tool
What was wrong with your old plastic foundation that you replace it ?
The wax didn't want to stay on the frame. A lot of the I cleaned all enough to use. I think if I had a pressure washer I could've used it to get the old cocoon off of them.
I saw this video on my tv. It was just a random video that was playing in my suggested playlist and I felt compelled to find my phone so i was logged in, look up this video to say "God bless" fellow beekeeper.
Thanks brother! Such a cool comment. God bless you too!
You're supposed to melt the beeswax and then pour it. Through the Stocking. while it's still liquid.
I've done it that way. I like this way better.
Successful hunt! It’s a grind!🦌🇺🇸🙏
It sure can be! I love every minute of it. I don't always get a ton of time, but I try to make the best with what I get.
congratulations on the deer atleast you filled a tag during the gun season I didn't though
Thanks! I filled a few. Hopefully, you'll get one next year!
@@TheHunterGatherer I hope so too I spend a lot of money being a non resident in new York and it gets aggravating when I see nothing
Have a great time
It was a great day! The next hunt (posting Saturday) was even better!
So how did you keep her from sitting on them with the pool?
We used the pool primarily for the birth and to help with cleanup. We moved puppies out of the way when it was time for delivery. We had another box that we used for after the birth that had pig rails on it.
Sir, as I am not into honeybees(I hope to bee) Maxant has a spinner that gets all the out, then melt the wax.
Oh, I know. I don't have the maxant wax spinner money, though. Lol
After a few days, is it running well?
You should try the S.M.A.R.T. one stix method.
I'll have to check it out. 👍
@@TheHunterGatherer Awesome!
Gr8 informative video, sir!
Thanks, brother. I'm glad you liked it!
Hang a stand, get in before light, sit still, stay till dark.
It doesn't always work out that way. I take what I can get.
Yankee hunter ....get a way with building a rock wall . 😂
Haha! I was slow and methodical. Watching and looking around all the time. Didn't do me any good, though. Wasn't a deer in sight. Lol
atleast you saw something
I have different levels of success for hunting. Getting out to the woods is great. I consider seeing whatever game I'm hunting a successful hunt. I'll take a sighting as a win. It is something to build from.
