👍👍 Great job you two! Goal achieved..
Thanks Eric💜🤘🏻
I could feel your test day anxiety! Great video to let new riders know what to expect!
😅😂 and I was trying so hard to NOT be anxious, “trying” only works so much LOL And thanks so much!!
Good for you! I just started riding this summer (I am 57). YouTubing my journey as well. Happy riding.
Thank you and so cool! I subbed✌🏻 ride safe 💜
I try take it back before covid19 but I did not pass written test and riding a motorcycle my balance is off because I wear knee braces and I just want see how it work for me!
Congratulations on passing and getting M license!
Thank you so much!
so cute
Well done guys, no better feeling than than passing your motorcycle test 👏
Congrats on the moto license! In (mostly) EU, the logic is slightly different. You sign up and attend a driving school - before instructor was on the same bike as you, with second handlebars linked to main ones to cluch/break in case of emergency - now they follow on another bike and/or car, with comms on. You complete your driving school, which takes about 14 lessons and 800$ and you can take your license exam. It consists of theory (at a computer, in the magistrate office), then practical (with questions about bike servicing/checks and handling it , in a designated lot with predefined tasks like figure 8, gear shift, slalom, emergency braking) and finally in traffic, with usually a police examiner, checking how you handle live traffic. You pass all these and you get your license and the possibility of buying a motorcycle for the category of your license but in the first year of riding you are still considered a noob ☺and must drive 20 km/h (12 mph) less than the speed limit outside city limits and have a distinctive sign (yellow circle with black exclamation sign) next to the license plate. So, US seems to be more permissive in this aspect. Drive safely, always two wheels down, wish you "dry asphalt and a million miles without any issues"!
Way to go guys, knew you could do it. Doesn't hurt to keep up the parking lot practice and keep your skills sharp.
Thank you!! And yeah for sure, this footage is from two months ago and I still went to a parking lot last week lol
I had my mesh intercom on and was waiting for my music to turn down 😂. I’m so much more awkward on video then I thought I was 😂😂😂
Wait is this actually you??! 😂 no way
@@gaabbiio yes lol I’m not sure how I scrolled across this but that’s 100% me 😂
I’ll try better to be less weird hahaha
@@drakecompher2457 LOL you were not weird! You were nice and it made my day! I’m just a yapper with a nervous laugh haha. But after editing multiple videos of myself I have gotten used to the cringe😂 And as a newish rider I just get intimidated by other riders so thank you for being nice, it was a positive interaction fs.
@@gaabbiio it was nice talking to you also. I see you on the freeway sometimes when I’m heading home from work. Good to see other new riders out and about 🤙🏼
Hey Gabi! I just wanted to say congratulations, and to thank you for posting your motorcycling journey. I took my licensing test 3 weeks ago and passed. And last weeks I bought my first bike! A brand new 2024 kawasaki z500! I put the first 40km (i’m Canadian lol) on it today! Your videos really helped me to know what to expect when starting out! Keep up the great work and ride safe!
Aww it’s been so much fun thank you! Congratulations to you as well. How exciting!! That’s a sick first bike lol. Thanks and you too!!
Thanks for sharing this. I started about a month after you and this brings back so many memories! I underestimated how much there was to think about as a beginner with little to no muscle memory. Balance, two brakes, clutch, shifting...it's a lot at first. Also, we go slow when we're beginners, but that also makes things harder as a bike at slow speeds is much much less stable than one moving at speed. When I started, I spent 40 minutes riding around my neighborhood, then took a deep breath and then had to ride a couple of miles on the highway to get to the nearest parking lot! Spent an hour in the parking lot doing what you were doing in this video. Took the MSF course the following weekend, passed and have been riding and continuing to learn ever since. Really wish I had started years ago! Look forward to watching your other videos! I really enjoy watching others learn 🙂
WE DID IT! 💯
BETTER TOGETHER!
11:04 lolol
FWIP!
+1 powerup for the fistbump 📈 it's only awkward if you think its awkward 😁
Lol well I only think I’m a *lil* awkward. Overall a good interaction haha
YAY! I got my motorcycle licence in September 1968! Welcome to the fam!
LOL I have a long way to go. Thank you!!
Dear, I have loved motorcycles since I was a very small boy. I'm old.. really old. But I still love it. You are so much fun to watch and listen to. Stay safe! I will recommend taking an MSF class if you can. They are actually enjoyable and you learn a lot.
what is this. in DK we don't do eights. we do a half circle but have to be done with atleast 19mph. a full stop with atleast 31mph, a contra steering done at atleast 31mph followed by a full stop right after. and a manoeuvre course with cones at low speed you need to be able to do without hitting cones, and if you drop the bike instant failure. after that you got a test ride in traffic with instuctor and a audit which normally is a person from the police to oversee, telling you where to go. if you manage to complete everything without failure and make it back to starting point then you get your license, and yes before all this you got a theoretical test with 25 questions, 4 answers in each and only 1 correct answer, and you have to get less than 5 wrong.
We have a 25 question multiple choice test too, I think you have to get a 80 or ~85%, so same thing:) You can make more mistakes during the permit test which is when my stalling story took place. But you can’t put your feet down or hit cones. I don’t think you are allowed to stall during the endorsement class either. I think only reason I was allowed a second try is because it wasn’t a skill problem, I just did the wrong pattern lol. But yes, with all that said, tests are a littler easier in the US it seems lol.
I feel your pain. Got my endorsement in May of this year in Texas. Wearing jeans, long sleeves, boots and a helmet for two days in 90 degree sunshine on a paved high school parking lot is draining (but oh, so worth it!). Congratulations to you and your friend!
Yeah it was pretty miserable hahah I should have invested in some better summer gear 😂 But very worth it!! Thank you!
I’ve had my motorcycle license for 38 years. I can still remember how excited I was when I got my license. If you stalled once you failed when I got mine. Have fun.
Awesome!! Here you can stall 4 times during the permit test, but only once during the endorsement test I believe. Thanks!
Congratulations!!! I took my test here in Spain and it was very difficult and a lot of people failed on the first tries. Greetings!
Thank you!! Yeah we have it fairly easy over here lol
Congratulations to you both. I hope you both have as much fun as the rest of us! 😁
Thank you so much! So far so good 😉
grats
Thanks!!
great choice with the mt03. its a great bike
Thanks! It is! I have been very happy with it ☺️
The number one thing to not do when it's hot is to wear black gear. You are riding across asphalt that is heating up, on a motorcycle producing heat, around other cars giving off heat, the sun is continuously heating your gear (gear is not cooled by moving through the air), and you are completely encased in black which absorbs the maximum amount of heat. You have essentially put yourself inside an oven. This is a recipe for unaliving yourself. The only time you want all black gear would be in the middle of winter. At all other times, not only do you not want to be wearing black gear, you want light colored reflecting gear over as much of your body as you can get with lots of venting.

First of all, congratulations! I've been riding my whole life and that's a lot of years. I ride professionally and ride everyday regardless of weather, or season. It's just what I do. Anyway, because of that and because I have moved many times over the years, I have had to get endorsements in several states and in several different counties. I can tell you that most of them where I took the tests were not as involved and professionally designed as the place you went to. Most of them were in parking lots of the DMV and what cones they had set up were short stops and a U-turn. As long as you didn't run any of them over, you passed. I've heard of places where the testee has to wear a vest marked "Student Rider" and the tester follows behind and grades them. I've never been to one of those places. One place I went to required that I take a written test first to get my Learner's Permit. Remember, I have been riding for decades but this state required me to get an endorsement with them so I had to start all over again since I had never had one there before. And if you had a LP, you could not ride alone. You had to have an escort rider who was fully endorsed to take you to the test site which was the DMV. A friend "escorted" me to the DMV (it was important that I did this correctly the first time because it was job related) and I had to take the final exam. The examiner told me to go to the end of the parking lot, stop at the street, take a right, and go down to the next parking lot. There I was to turn around and come back to her. Okay, I got it. I took off slow, went to the street and made a full stop even though there were no cars for miles around, put both feet down, had my signal on, the whole 9 yards. Then I went down the street and I applied every law, safety standard and riding protocol I could think of during my many years of riding. I finally got back to where the examiner and my friend were standing and talking. She told me I passed and to go inside to get my new license. On the way in, my friend told that as soon as I took off she turned to him and started talking about banana pudding. She never once looked at me to see if I was doing everything right or crashed. Anyway, I got my license and my friend got a new recipe for banana pudding. Overall it was a good day.
Congrats, the difference between the opening shot in this video and the the riding in your early videos shows you have really come a long way and you look good out there, stay safe. @14:13 you made good on your promise to master down shifting. Including the throttle blip! You should do a video on that it's tough for some beginners.
How does the learner permit thing work on a motorcycle? What kind of restrictions are there? I had heard that you have to ride with someone who already has their endorsement, but I don't know if that's true. Also, I suppose each state might be different. BTW, nice helmet mic. It's super clear.
permits restrict nighttime riding but u can do everything else, highway, etc
Congratulations to you guys! Looking at your riding on this video compared to when you started out, I can say you've come a long way in terms of confidence and skill. Ride safe!
You ride on mt-03 w/o license? This is crazy. People riding on 1000cc bikes w/o license - insane. We have very strict licenses starting from AM, A1, A2 and A (which is unlimited power motorcycle), age restrictions and power restrictions for each level. You have to earn it and it's not easy to pass exams, one mistake and you're done. Stalling, touching ground with feet while riding, riding over white lines, touching cones - instant exam fail. Exam has 9 tasks and if you pass them all, you go for a test ride in traffic for about 30-45 min where you are tested and must perform commands (there is a list of 23 things you must perform)... if you pass that then you can get motorcycle license.
In the US, the requirements are kind of a formality, honestly. It's possible to get a learners permit, which let's you ride under supervision of someone who has their motorcycle license. I'm guessing that's what gabi did, but I'm not sure. You ride with supervision for a while, then you take a class/test to get your license. Or, you can just take a weekend class for like $50, pass the (easy) test and go buy a liter bike the next day... the tiered system you have is better, but America will ever do it.
We still got that freedom thing over here, people are trying to take some of it away but we are working on it in November
This sounds like Germany. Long ago when I lived there, I was told by my German friends that they had to start with small bikes and could only get a license for bigger bikes after several years of riding and many exams. This was many years ago and I'm not sure if it's the same now, but it certainly sounds like the same situation.
@@Second_Opinion_2 It doesn't have anything to do with freedom. The U.S. just doesn't care whether you run yourself off the road into a tree on a motorcycle. They would prefer you ride in a car because they get more taxes and jobs from people driving cars. The more unskilled people on motorcycles the better they think it is.
we have permits
Well done!
Wut all this time I thought she already had it lol
I had my permit! Not my license😊 this footage is also from July🫣 I’m still trying to get caught up lol
Congrats, ride safe!!

lol I’m the dude that’ll stay back and not go up to a biker because I’m too awkward lol. I didn’t think that interaction was all that bad though
LOL I feel you😂 And right? pretty positive interaction overall. Dare you to try it next time! Maybe you can make a friend who is also awkward hahaha
I messed up the figure 8 also. Congratulations!!!! Job well done!!
Bro missed his opportunity
Congrats! I failed my msf earlier this year which was quite sad. I’ve been riding with a permit since and just gotta retake it now.
Don’t worry. It happens. People are nervous, haven’t slept properly, aren’t ready, etc. You’ll be fine next time. Use it as a learning experience. Basically all motorcycle trips are a learning experience so you have just started early! Best of luck and don’t dwell on it. Just relax next time and enjoy it!
So you can ride without a licence?. How does it work over there? Here in the UK it's very complicated but I explain it all in one of my videos.
You can ride legally with a permit! (Which I had before this) With a permit you just can’t ride at night or with a passenger. Your permit expires in 6 months and you can renew it once for another 6 months I think, but you have to get your endorsement before it expires.
@@gaabbiio What state are you in? In Illinois we have to be accompanied by an endorsed rider.
@@gaabbiio we get a whole year in California with our permit. We can keep renewing it year after year. I know of a few people who have been riding for 10+ years and still have just a permit.
Congratulations to u both, has to be a great feeling.. i have my test on 22 October for my full licence,.. safe riding and I'll be keeping an eye out for more content from ya.... all the best from Tommy in Ireland 🇮🇪
THANKS TOMMY💜 it was such a good feeling! Good luck on your test!🍀 you got dis!
Squeee!! So happy for you both!! I remember when slow speeds were still nerve wracking for you. Now look at you. 70mph! Your scuttle ruckus had me giggling, but then the anti-8 took me out! 😆 But I'm sure you're right about the exhaustion. You probably weren't very hydrated either. Thanks for taking us along on your journey! I think a recap would be fun! 🥚
Thank you!!💜 I know right…it is crazy 😂 ANTI-8 lmaooo love that. But yeah we were drinking water at every break we got and I was pouring it on myself too…but I think when I started to get sunburnt that’s what really zapped me 🥵
@@gaabbiio That burn looked bad. Can't imagine donning and doffing my jacket over and over. Ouchee. Remind us, what bike do you ride?
Yeah I didn't think it would have been off long enough for me to get burned, but jokes on me haha 2020 MT-03!
That sunburn Looks painful. My daughter (older than you! ) got one so bad it made her sick. (We were on a cruise) her grieve Lea was along. The doctor on the ship was a BEAUTIFUL Italian. "Oohhh Seniorina, I will care for you." A we left, Lea said "I'm going to get sunburned tomorrow!"
that was kinda awkward but he was so chill with you about it lol
bro I am so awkward lmao. But he gave me a fist bump and then just stared at me??.. so I had to start yappin' ig
