Such a great video. We lost our English Setter due to being hit by a car. We have an 8ft fence and for the life of us couldn't figure out how he kept getting out. He could scale the top of the fence. Our hearts are broken and these videos are helpful, but also wish we would have found them sooner.

why not shave them in the summer?

Our dogs dig dirt bath holes… shade, water,water and water. They are pretty slow moving when hot. The undercoat also acts as an insulation… never ever shave or clip. If you pat them they feel warm if you reverse Pat them you can feel the coolness underneath. Nature is amazing.

Just came across your video here. I saw your watered you have for the chickens, I have the same one but still trying to figure out how to use it properly. Is there any tricks to it? It didn’t come with any instructions.

My pyraneese/St. Bernard mix is an indoor queen, but the shedding is outrageous. She’s getting shaved soon.

I have a 1y Pyrenees/Husky mix. This dog is only abt 75 lbs yet but can do a standing vertical over a 6+ ft welded wire fence. Luckily he comes right back but I've got to find a way to stop this because I'm worried about him getting hit.

If you have the 8 foot fence and an underground pet fence you can train them the boundary and they won't touch the fence, and they'll never leave that boundary I'm working with a great Pyrenees puppy now just installed an underground fence to begin training him his boundary 😅

We live in the Salem Plateau of Missouri. It gets hot AND cold. The Pyrenees rescues WE get, have different coat thicknesses. Our last one, Rae Dawn Chong, had an extremely thick coat. Our current baby…Polar Bear, has a much lighter, straighter coat. Our dogs roam and get a good sprint on 3 of the 6 acres. With deciduous trees, dug holes, porch skirts, and Doggie doors...the dogs take care of themselves. Polar won't stay inside, so I hose her belly and feet. The other dogs go into the watering hole but she doesn't like heavy water on her fur. She also does not like to step over and into the Kiddie pool wall, so I have to have a very shallow or sloped pan of water for her to cool off in.

Those chickens look an awful lot like dogs lol

Such sweet babies... I had 2 Pyrs... lost both within the last 8 months. They were both almost 13 years old. I miss them every day.

Magnificent Animal, so smart...yep barking is kinda his job! They bark to protect the goats and critters also bark at predator birds even airplanes.

Great video for a beginner like me. My first summer with my Great Pyrenees and the 3rd tip I am not worried because she hates going into water and a challenge to bath her 😂 she would never sit down like your dog 😂
