This FIXES Trade in Victoria 3! TGR Production & Trade Mod
FINALLY I have a mod that makes trade not a nightmare! Sasco cracked the code and his TGR mod will make the global economy grow and profitable trades dominate the markets of the world. Paradox developers take note!

Starting Industrialization in Victoria 3: Build Like a Belgian!
Another mod list, huzzah! Morgenrote has completely elevated Victoria 3 for me, so thank you for the introduction. Adding in the discovery and non-violent aspects of Great Power competition really brings out the 19th century flavour, and I can't play without it. If this new list of yours also has trade and the economy improved... you've got my gaming schedule sorted until Civ 7 releases. I am eternally grateful for that good sir!
And I plan to get into Civ 7, as well!
The way to avoid circular trade is to make sure that trade is not 100% efficient, that there are real shipping costs, depreciation of goods when being shipped, etc., and at no point is trade creating money out of thin air. Now if a circular trade scheme of x amount of good y can be net profitable for the set of involved countries (not to mention if it were profitable for each country), that's just disgusting.
Indeed. And the tariff fixes in the mod essentially guide the AI into making "better" trade choices to the point where we have real volume of trade in things that make sense. Still have trades that make no sense, but that's likely for the 1.9 overhaul to tend to.
Not sure if that might be it, but are those separate "Russia" trade routes - trade routes from your market to Russian market, just maintained by different countries in both of the markets? That's the only case I can fathom that makes it kind of work in my head. The mod you're showcasing here looks amazing. I need to check it out on my next playthrough! Thank you for giving it visibility!
I really don't know why those routes are the way they are, but yes that mod is great stuff!
I see that trade laws have been changed to use negative tariff rates. I'm rather skeptical that you are paying money to everyone who exports goods to you and that makes me wonder if the exporter is receiving money that is created from no where. So additional information on how these negative tariffs are implemented is needed to understand what is actually happening. Also the convoy generation is out of control. You have over 50,000 unused convoys despite the massive trade that is occurring. Shipping costs have virtually been eliminated so of course trade skyrockets, so you receive all of the profits in the trade centers without having to pay laborers to move the goods. Can you show everyone what this looks like with normal convoys from ports?
I agree that the convoys are not working as designed, but if they are kept limited, then we have crippled trade and we're back to the AI not building anything in the game. As for profits, I'm really not reaping huge benefits relative to my budget, and my taxes are pretty high in order to make ends meet. I'm running a big surplus to pay off the series of wars I just had and I'm hoping for a good few years of peace to settle a good portion of my national debt. At the same time, the *feel* of the game is much richer, on account of the fixes in this mod. Add that in with the PEC and MR and other flavor mods that I'm running and it is an excellent ride. Perhaps if I do a full play-through with this mod set for the channel, more of your questions could be answered.
ooh i’ve been using this mod for quite a while. despite the fairly significant performance hit i always use it because the game just doesn’t feel right to play without it anymore. Definitely one of the best ever made for this game
Yes, and I think the way to deal with that performance hit is within reach. Just need to clean up the messes the AI is making, find ways to take out the trash in the game, as it were.
Fünf Pickelhauben für Morgenröte! 😀
Ja!
We the people need some more gameplay of Morgenrote in action!

P.S. Morgenrote is one of the best mods, with it's own achievements!
Thanks! I'm glad you clicked the link!
Thank you for playing Morgenröte!
It is amazing stuff!
Thank you for maintaining and expanding this mod constantly!
Thank you all!
This looks like the perfect blend of my two fav Paradox games. CK charaters in the Victorian era, perfection!
Yes, it really plays that well. It's exceptionally good stuff.
Does it only upgrade or also downgrade?
I believe it is one-way, upgrade only.
Wow this adds a great deal of realism and challenge to the game! Wish those features were in vanilla
Question, Mr Economist. When you invest in another country, do you know if the investing country gets control of the profit & the resource produced or just the profit? Ex. if I, as Canada buy a coal mine in WV, do I get money & coal or just money?
Just the money, unless the nation is part of the same market your nation is a leader of.
@ Market leader, huh? Did not know that. Nuther tidbit of info that’ll affect the way I play.
What should i do when its 2025 and i donwladed this mod but it shows Failed to load tho mod’s dll file,or one of its dependencies? (Im new so help pleaseee)
I would try unsubbing from the mod and then resubscribing to it.
What mod lets you see all 5 of the Generals?

Finally, spreadsheets in Victoria 3!
Grey's Military Industries Rework might be an interesting mod for you, it allows you to switch Military Building to switch to partial Tool production in a few steps up to 50%, although it is incompatible with Industry Industry Realism
I do not play this game, but I can just watch you over and over again Dean!
same!!!
finally, i have been looking for someone like you, and im happy i finally scored. If possible, would you be able to do a communist flavour run and explain the differences in action you have to take in comparison to an interventionist capatalist build, and whether or not a command economy could apply in the real world? How far does this mod go can it handle that kind of stress testing or would it output unbelievable results, whats the comparison with the vanilla build, do either of them emulate the real world market interactions that a command economy wiuld have? Can a command economy also interact with complex central banking fiscal and monetary policy? How would it interact with the outside world and their markets? Anyways, thanks for the awesome videos and thorough explanations. It's been a real breath of fresh air, seeing someone with actual know how and experience tackling these subjects .
Please do that tutorial about loading mods first. This is the first I've heard of being able to load mods in order.
I think you dont use the Better Politics Mod, what are your thoughts on it? I think it greatly enhances the roleplay and would love to see you use it in your playthroughs too
Yep, Better Politics and Morgenroete are two big mods that are popular and I enjoy, but are not in your list, what do you think of them?
I'm very much attached to the business cycles I get in PEC, and it's got some conflicts with BPM.
Morgenroete looks to be quite interesting, but its scope looks like it will collide with other mods. I'd have to do some deeper inspection into it to know more.
Modder here, glad you enjoy it so much! Love your energy. I have a bunch of balance changes compiled I'm going to make to it, some of the principles are way overtuned atm, when I find the time I'm gonna do a full pass of them.
Let me know, I'll be happy to help test!
Waiting for the last war against the Austrians 😃😃 Amazing video! This tutorial series is amazing!
Spoiler alert: the Austrians are now an Italian puppet.

Some of this are pretty op but overall 10/10 mod
Very cool! And happy new year!

as an economist, what are your opinions on a modern Land value tax, as proposed by Henry George?
I found his position on not worrying about the ownership, but the rents being most important to be novel and insightful. I like it.
I want share some info for the taxation in general, not only about the mod :) Land tax: is applied to peasants only, this means that if you have a lot of pops of this category, you'll get a lot of taxes (and on the other way, less peasants, less taxes). Per capita tax: is applied to everyone apart the peasants, so more pops in general you have, more taxes you get. Good taxation method if you play countries with a lot of pops (you can also incentives the pop growth to increase the population) Income: good in mid-late game when the pops increase their SoL and wages. More pops you have, more taxes you get. Dividend: to maximise you must have a lot of capitalist, aristocrats and in general pops who own buildings. To tax effectively you should privatize more buildings as possible and in general increase the SoL of rich strata. Good in mid-late game when you have a lot of buildings Enjoy :)
Nice video! By the way, have you ever play BPM(Better politics Mod)? I wish it had a tutorials too.
That's one I may need to try in a separate game.
@@An_Economist_Plays cool!
The ai seriously under invest in construction near end of game as Russia and my GDP is 1/3rd the global total
I find that having more iron at the start is a huge help for getting the game jump-started. It's incredible, what that boost can do.
I've already subscribed to these mods and look forward to using them in my next game. Thanks for finding and tell me about them. 😁
I will be uploading a tutorial a day this week, so you are in luck!
I just started playing this game, and I only wish it had gone right through to the Cold War. I would love to keep the Suez Canal in British/French hands to see the outcomes in trade between the rest of the commonwealth countries around Australia, Singapore, and India.
Wow, the algorithm nailed it by pointing me to this channel. I love economics trading and strategy games.
So that little 10 10 10 building, is stimulating the economy.
Yep. I was amazed at the difference it made.
Yeah because it's essentially a cheat. I mean it would be ok if it was just capital. But you can take another countries capitals. So if you are in thunderdome regional start or playing Prussia it would completely break the game
@johnnicholas1657 even like that, it did not break the game. However, the mod that does this now removes the building after it is no longer in a captal, so it is definitely a soft touch.
@An_Economist_Plays oh cool sounds interesting now then. Gives the little nations a fighting chance and stops the micro of importing just to kick off economy
Good idea creating the unique building. I'm a bit surprised it made a difference to how the GPs built, but it should help smaller nations even more which is great. You might try testing with 10 iron and coal but only 5 sulfur and lead (since most countries don't have tech to use either for quite a while).
It does look like lead and sulfur could be cut back.
i tried mods which give every counrty 3 company and it work good but it kill the idea of having company and researsh it i hope paradox can implement same idea with diff method , and there is other mods which make pops demand each goods with small amount that work exacly like yours but for all goods and its work perfect but with too much demand for some goods but atleast there is something work for now
i hope paradox will figure out soon especially for Oil and Rubber even if you invest in other country it won`t work bec other goods mostly will work but for these two you will have to counqer them which is bad bec its a more economic game than militalry other wise i will go back for HOI4 if i want that
They should use the game rules menu for some of these mods instead of putting all the options in the journal and decisions.
The downside of the game rules menu is that you can't change it mid-game, I think this is why we see many mods put their options in the decisions and journal list instead.
Good timing! Just wanted to catch up on the latest videos
Great vid, thank you! The potential mod you discuss would be a brilliant addition to the game🙌
Yes, we are working on it and it is great so far. Need some polishing on it, but it is a great change to the game!
Merry Christmas!! Idea: -Journal Entry: Industrialization Build: 10 iron mines, 2 coal mines, 1 steel plant, 4 tool shops, 6 lumber mills. Reward: +1 Company, and General Development Company. Connect General Development Company to iron mines and tool shops. Giving +10% throughput. Would that make the AI build more in general?
Something on those lines, yes!
I know the trading mechanics are a bit wonky especially with that circular flow of iron you described. There are some mechanics in play though that weren't very obvious but come into play. The game does track local supply and demand on a providence level before looking at the countries market. So its not like iron mines aren't trying to sell to local tooling factories or construction works if available. I liked that you brought up the rubber production in Brazil. I encountered this problem in a recent playthrough and found some entertaining solutions. My goal was actually gaining leverage. Building plantations for them they didn't seem to care to employ there, and thus didn't seem to be 'leveragely influenced'. But once I setup even unfavorable trade routes with the target country and later a free trade agreement, that brought the costs down for them significantly for it to be profitable. If that failed, then subsidizing my own countries rubber consumers helped. But as a final incentive, I would look to see which industries were heavily competing for rubber's labor (usually basic foods or wood) and start exporting there to suppress the price. Once workers finally switched over I could relax the measures a bit and hoped that switching costs were high enough so they don't go back. In regards to the market awareness and trade opportunities, wouldn't that be a part and parcel of the era? Its still frustrating micromanagey having to setup trade routes for one's own country, but the era's involved still had a significant delay in information transfer. Although Victoria isn't literally simulating this, it does seem like the era of the broker for finding and making trades.
I actually don't mind staying on top of trades, if other nations are doing their bit to produce stuff. My worst games are when I'm making 20K of something and the second-biggest producer is making 1K. Everyone imports from me so I have an economy-crippling shortage and I contemplate isolationism for a trade policy.
@@An_Economist_Plays Sounds like you passed the free trade law and don't like that you have almost no control over trade. So, its working as intended, like in RL. That doesn't mean there won't be trade offs or aspects of it you don't like. We can't complain about Paradox for that. You might be happier with tariffs under protectionism. Or cancel a free trade agreement with another country if it mainly benefits them.
@@ThomasDega more like, when a nation in Victoria 3 passes Free Trade, some really odd things are possible and if one uses mods to boost trade, those odd things spin out of control. But with more overall production of basic resources, even those issues fade back into the background, as later testing showed.
spain more like pain
