Honestly, if I were the Padres... I'd trade EVERYONE and build around Jackson Merrill! The character of team is highly questionable, and I think Machado and Tatis are not people I want my younger player to learn from! Tony Gwynn was such a class act... the Padres should try and build around his legacy! San Diego is NOT a big market team... they need to accept that and build long term with younger more disciplined players! They are NOT going to outbid the Dodgers, but that's ok. They don't need to if they invest in the right philosophies and strategies during the rebuild. The window is small to get unload Machado's contract and Tatis has tons of value! Time for the Padres to refocus and rebuild the right way!

So, I think she should be the control person and face of the front office. That said, if the brothers "lose" this crazy bid to push her aside, she would become the first female owner, since Marge Schott and Joan Kroc, to own a franchise, outright..and she would be the first woman of color, in the history of MLB, to become the primary shareholder and chairwoman. I don't believe the Padres are on the VERGE of being sold, but I do think the end result will be the sale of the Padres. It won't happen overnight but if this lawsuit sticks and takes a while, both parties I think are going to be eliminated and the Padres will be up for sale. Seldom does an owner that is going to sell his ball club ever put money into the organization. They usually don't sign any mid-range to large contracts. They usually try to keep it tight and make it look good to purchase and THEN the new owner can add. That doesn't bode well for the near future of this ball club.

We don’t know if these sensationalized and racist sexist allegations are truth. This sounds like it was used purposefully to illicit emotions and sympathy. It’s tried and true method to deceive. Do the brothers have legal documents she signed and agreed to while Peter was alive? If so why is she doing this now?

She did this intentionally to make sure the Padres don’t get Roki. The timing is not a coincidence, just a few days before he is set to make his decision. She needs the fans angry at the brothers, but if the brothers pull off getting Roki they will get credit for it and the team will likely continue winning for a few more years. Which would be bad for her dream of controlling the padres. She needs them angry which is why she use the word relocation even though we all know that’s not possible with the current lease

Did Peter Seidler inherit the team from his father? If so, his brothers might have a legal claim to some of the control.

This may be a blessing in disguise. As a Dodgers fan who lived through the McCourt era it was tough to see my team’s ownership to through litigation leaving fans uncertain about the teams future but fortunately they were sold to an ownership group that was willing to spend and turn the franchise around. Hopefully this gets resolved fast and who know maybe the Padres get sold to someone that’s is willing to put the Organization and Fans before profit.

Damn, this lawsuit will scare potential free agents to come to SD because of the uncertainty. I will not be surprised if Roki doesn’t sign with the Padres.

Woo-Suk Go maybe end up a bad move for you guys. He is worth nothing but he chose Padres. Team stuck him in minor then traded him. Ha-Seong Kim didn’t have a great last season with Padres. While I suspect the Dodgers will give Hye seong Kim plenty of opportunities to succeed. Ultimately this is about one thing. Building your korean brand to go after Kim Do-yeong in 3-4 years.

Padres ownership has been so bad for so long. RIP Peter and I’m happy he and AJ built a fun winning culture in SD…BUT the contracts are so fucking bad and they aren’t looking like they will win a WS to make the terrible contracts worth it. Cronenworth contract sucks the Darvish contract sucks. They won’t win with this core and it will all be for nothing and set them back a decade. These contracts will cost Tatis and Merrill’s primes. Padres won’t win a WS with this core unless they say fuck it and keep spending money and accept they will be fucked in 3-4 years. Instead they did nothing this off-season while other teams in the NL got better. Terrible ownership will always cost this team.
