i remember when i first heard this back in 2009 as a kid. what a time. i recently started playing the game again and i will sit at the start menu listing to this getting hit with a freight train of emotions. its a beautiful piece of music and will always hold a special spot in my heart

The third movement (not even in the home key) feels more like a scherzo than a finale. This needed a big closing movement in F minor to finish it off. I wonder if Respighi just abandoned the project.

I just love these pieces. I love the French titles as well which largely describe moods and emotions. Did Dupont get the title "Le soir tombe dans la chambre" from a poem by Georges Rodenbach? Most certainly! Although I understand French reasonably well, still I looked it up online. Here is what I got: When evening has fallen in the quiet room Melancholically, only the chandelier crumbles Its noise of discontent in the closed silence.
