    When you consider that his job was fighting disease it makes sense that he'd lose hope at one where everyone is already infected and will turn no matter the cause of death.

    I don't think Joe saying Rick's not a good person is super ironic. I took it as Joe saying Rick isn't good people. Not a "good person" "good people" aka aligned with them and good for their group. "This man killed our friend. You say he's good people. That right there is a lie." Obviously, still a shit person but not internally inconsistent.

    People who admire Negan (as leader of the Saviors) worry me lol. Rick was never as bad. Yes, Rick would kill if he needed to protect his group or their stuff for survival; he didn't take absolute joy in it. Rick was more likely to try and work out a peaceful deal with people who were willing to do so. He didn't make slaves out of people and create an elitist power structure; he rolled his sleeves up and helped with the dirty work, took only his fair share, and was willing to go without. If Rick went too far it was usually justified or poor judgement, not a power trip. Negan's ego was out of control. Both were strong leaders, but people followed Rick out of respect whereas people followed Negan out of fear.

    there is 1 loop whole. Its the fact that they're undead actually. They may not starve, but eventually their bodies will keep rotting until they no longer can run at that speed anymore or they will just be a skeleton. if you can hold out that long you win.

    When Dale says kid he doesn’t mean it like an actual child, but in the sense of naïve and inexperienced, many 40+yo will usually call a sub30 yo a kid in that context, regardless of if they actually act that way. And the dude kept his group’s secrets cause he was still more scared of his crew then Rick's, especially because of how terrible his group was. Otherwise I would mostly agree barring some pedantic semantics like what determines “forced" to abandon civil notions, and while a vegan not adhering to a strict vegan diet in a crisis could still claim they are a vegan because that’s their intended lifestyle, it does require confrontation with the idea of not being a vegan in the moment and more importantly the sustainability of a vegan lifestyle when you are pushed to that level of crisis. I do partially agree with Dale that every murder chips at their civility (less so their humanity), but the strain on their resources (not the food so much as the wasted manpower to oversee him) is probably not outweighed by his potential benefit, he's already proven to be less than confident and barely capable, only then add in the risk he could be playing them does the argument chip back against the morality argument. In the end Shane took matters into his own hand, rending the argument moot, but the more important part is as you mention, that they had the discussion rather than act immediately. Would I want him killed? I can’t really say, given I’ve never been chased by flesh eating monsters in a collapsed society. I’d probably lean towards no, but if put on the spot as the deciding vote concede to killing him.

    eh, dale maybe one of those old guys who see you as a kid at 20. ive seen plenty of people refer to people who are 20 as just a kid. even seen those who are 25-30 who were still called so by people who were in their 70's and 80's.

    I like Dale but you can’t have bleeding hearts in this world. Doesn’t mean our humanity is gone. It’s about survival. And we’ve learned that several times throughout this series. You got _one time_ to prove you can’t be trusted.

    Shane was too strong for the early stages of the apocalypse while the rest were still try to grasp their new reality. Its only natural they couldnt handle him. If you want to destroy a strong man, send him a woman. Resisting is a form of strength in itself If Shane had the strength to resist he would be up there with the top leaders of the new world

    To test the freeze hypothesis, all they need to do is capture one and throw it into a deep freeze. The mall most likely could have sustained them for years by the look of the resources there, they could have also engineered something to kill the zombies en masse. They are facing an enemy with no intelligence and no ability to reason, critically think, plan or use any form of technology. The only real issue is wanting to save Andy, which is what got the mall compromised in the first place. If they could get soil and begin composting they could have stayed there indefinitely most likely, and even with the large number of undead, they could still whittle down the numbers over time. Keep in mind that they also had access to a book store, which would afford them of all the information they would need to sustain in the long term. The most important resource on the earth is human intelligence, something that they were certainly lacking.

      Nah man worked in a mall there isn't much food in them they require weekly shipments just to keep stocked you might get a few months at best with a dozen people and that is assuming the power stays on and you can keep the coolers and freezers going(not much canned food). You also need the means to actually cook the food cause while they may have a generator you need gas to be able to cook and them lines are gonna go down pretty quickly in such an event as will the water pressure.

  • @kimdam7380

    Yes and no. He was right in that being good is important but failed to get the weight of events, and that is society was starting over. Dale hoped that if people would just all play nice and be moral it would all work out but that isn't how the world works. Even in a progressive society the strong prey on the weak and that would be x2000 in an apocolapse. Letting Randell go would of meant Randall dying or Randall bringing back friends. Dale did not want to see that reality because to see it would of meant accepting that his world was indeed gone and it was.

  • @kimdam7380
    @kimdam7380 День назад

    Where Negan was right is in that whenever things get for a civilization, society has to start over and that means oppression. Negan was doing nothing more or less than any other early civilization, power is power, might is right and that does not change until things become more complex and progressive. Sure he was bloody, but that would be a requirement...stay on the page or your gone. Shane, the Gov. and Negan all understood, not by grace of education, but of understanding human nature better than Rick. If you look at the various moves to new groups what you see is that in each jump more people die because Rick does not go with that natural order. At the farm had Rick just focussed on protecting his son and let Shane lead, the farm might of survived if everyone was still working together.... but people died. When the Govenor was introduced again we see Rick trying to take the high road instead of, again, going with it and focus protect Carl....even more people die. When we meet Negan it happens again with Rick and even more people end up dead. Rick's character, in his bucking, just keeps things from moving forward naturally and it results in a few dead, more dead, even more dead. This is one of the things missed by people, Rick isn't the hero, he is THE villian and his actions leave a trail of blood...HIlltop, Alexandria, Sanctuary, Tigerville (LOL), you can take all the villians and combine their body count and it would not come even close to the swath that Rick has brought on to the world. The Negans, even is dispicable, are the people that move things forward until change happens over time, the Ricks just cause problems to that natural order.
