    I'm just getting into Unreal Engine (Unity's self destruct was scary) and your videos are helping a ton! For once, I can follow along with a tutorial and actually make sense of what I'm hearing! I don't know how you do it, but keep it up! Since you're looking for feedback, I'll parrot what I read on a video a year old: maybe add some quiet music to the background to fill in the silence. Though if you don't want to, that's completely fine! It's your video, after all. :)

    I'm trying to figure out a way to boost a car forward when pressing a button in the air (like an air dash but for a car). For jumping, I'd been using the Set Linear Velocity node to boost the car upwards. However, this doesn't help with boosting the car FORWARD since this node only applies the force to the world direction rather than the car's local direction. It seems like the trick to fix this issue would be to use this GetActorForwardVector, though I honestly don't know how to use that node to apply a force in that forward direction. Any ideas?

      Hey, you can multiply the vector you get from GetForwardVector by a float. You would make the value of the float the amount of velocity you want to add. You can then use the result of that vector multiplication with either AddForce node or the LaunchCharacter node depending on if your car is your character or not.

      @@joshdoescoding1124 Thanks for the response! I tried this out with the AddForce node and it worked well! Only problem I'm facing now is that I'm realizing a big difference with an Air-Dash mechanic between a character based game and car game is that the car's speed varies much more. So using a somewhat low velocity air dash even just a couple times in a row results in the car going MUCH faster than I'd prefer, since the car's momentum continues once touching the ground. I'm sure I can play around with tweaking the multiply number or maybe decreasing speed once you land on the ground or something. Anyway, initial problem is fixed so thanks again!

    Make sure you also call StartWave at the end of BeginPlay inside of the enemy spawner!

    I can't get this to work. Went through it Multiple times. The Spawner works from the previous Video by itself without the wave system. Restarted Unreal just encase as well. I'll keep trying to fix it though. 😅

      @@OwenLE2024 A few things you could check 1. Make sure you still have a nav mesh in the level 2. Make sure you set the default value for max enemies in wave to something greater then 0 3. Make sure you set the default value for current wave to 1 4. Make sure you are still calling start wave on begin play in the enemy spawner Let me know if any of those do the trick!

      Hey, I plan to introduce more types of enemies later on in the series. In this game we will be buying weapons after a game has finished with the points earned but the logic for buying off of a wall would be pretty similar

    I'm trying to build a vampire survivors-like game using UE, so these videos are pretty helpful, thanks a lot! Although I think the enemy spawning for that type game would be somewhere near the player so maybe putting a nav mesh on the player? Still trying to learn, I'm fairly new haha

      Hey, you wouldn't want a nav mesh just around the player because in the future we will need the nav mesh so our AI can move around. You would probably want to use the player as the centre of the find reachable area and put in a smaller radius.

    I'm very new to Unreal, so i'm not sure if this is a problem; When I run the game, no character shows up, I get a message that says "Outdated HLOD actors detected, HLOD's need to be rebuilt (63 Outdated actors)" I don't know what is causing this, and I followed all the code correctly, Is it possible that a new version of Unreal has made this problem?

    I've been getting weird responses from Objects that get attached to the character when you pick them up bouncing all over the place, and I think my player rotation might have something to do with it, sometimes the objects get attached behind him, sometimes to the side, this seems like a good way to ensure that the rotation is always facing forward, maybe that'll make the objects attach correctly in front of the player. I'll give it a shot

    Great tutorials man! I am looking forward to see more! I can see that you are an expert! I am currently struggling with enemy wave system. I have a data table about each wave the (what class and how many enemies must spawn). The problem is that they all spawn at once in each wave. And I don't know how to set up a proper timer inside wave to spawn an enemy with time interval. Could you please suggest me anything?

    Great tutorial. How ever i cant get it to work... For testing im using the Simulation Project. I have setup a new Game mode and set it in world settings. Ive also added a new Character. But i still cant move.. its driving me crazy...
