You drove right by one of my favorite spots with Burro Canyon formation. The stuff you ID’d as Barite is most likely Acyclical Crystaline Aragonite. Which is pernicious in the area. Get into Brushy Basin formation and you will stub your toe on hunks of “fools Wood” . It fizzes in acid, and is noted in the Agate Quadrangle Geological map. I have also found agate replaced aragonite “fools wood”. Some smaller agates in the wash running through the Slickrock & Moab Entrada sandstone, are likely from Dewey Bridge member of Entrada sandstone.

Have they tested for Valley Fever? It's a fungal infection that can stirred up by moving dirt in the southwest. Hard to diagnose but they have test for it if you know to ask.

Hang in there. I understand what it’s like to be limited in your it activities. I have spinal stenosis that causes almost daily pain, especially after doing anything on my feet for too long. Which really puts a damper on rockhounding. I struggle with depression because of it sometimes, too. Luckily my wife is very understanding (she’s a therapist). I do run my slab saw as much as I can. But I’m starting to get low on things to cut. I’ll have to start polishing and cabbing, which means time on my feet. Keep pushing through. Things have a way of working out.

Hang in there chronic pain isn't easy. I've had fibromyalgia for 34 yrs now. Depression is real. I understand how one day of doing what you love. Makes you pay for days after. Glad there seems to be a ray of hope.

Just going off the thumbnail for the video i could tell i didn't want to hear anything you where about to say, and less than 10k views in 3 years, i can see I'm not the only one who thought that... You might try not being in the videos, as no one is here to see your mug just the rocks and minerals... Then you would have 10k views in a month not 3 years... Such a fake conceited smile tells us everything we needed to know... Its too bad because that petrified wood would have been really nice to see... I totally have been to the geode beds probably 150 times and have found some like that with the blue love them.

Please be advised, the drum mountain agate site is under claim . Has been for a couple years. I'd rather you did not share GPS coordinants, or offer collecting advice to this site. And anyone digging in a pit will be a problem. I'm not being mean,I just advise everyone to do the proper research, and respect claim markers.
