I am just trying to learn minerals and rocks so I can go rockhounding. Can you suggest a way to help learn? What should be a beginners first rockhounding trip to collect?
Thanks for your videos and all your information. I love your videos. I have watched them all a couple of times.
    Thanks again

Good question. When I first began learning about minerals, I just went online and started looking at pictures of different rocks I could find and learning their names. However, to get really good it just takes time and practice getting outside, and possibly some geology courses. I think I would just recommend watching as many videos as you can from other rockhounds and just start going out. It will be difficult the first several times, but eventually you will get better at finding and identifying different rocks and minerals. It also helps a lot if you can go out with a local rockhound or geologist. Hopefully this helps!
