Thanks for the video. Watched it Sunday night, walked the trail yesterday.
Great Job Jensen it was amazing seeing someone at such a young age competing in this type of competition and with you winning it makes it’s even more impressive. Keep up the great work 👍👍👍. (From Ninja Man)
Thank you ninja man from jensen 😁
Thank you ninja man
You did amazing Jensen! It was great to watch you perform and earn your medal! Also thank you for being a great influence on Jensen -Matthew
Thank you from jensen
Thanks
Clem thx so much mate! There’s an old Shakespeare saying - “No clock can strike for me the hours that have past” This is similar to your philosophy - do it while you can! Take care Clem
Youre multi-talented Clem! Hey dont feel obliged to answer but… do you use GoPro & Davinci Resolve in your cycling clips? Gerard
Hi Gerard. Thanks for compliment but I'm not multi talent, I just want to do things that I like when I still can so I wouldn't fell regret in future. Anyway regarding your question, I only use go pro and insta360. Sometimes with my phone too.
Congrats mate
Thank you mate. See you tonight
Clem I've been watching a couple of your videos and I'm always blown away by your insane amount of knowledge. Part of why I enjoy cycling is that I always try to go somewhere new that I haven't seen before.
Thank you. Those knowledge mostly are what I explored during rides. But some of them are pre rides research.
Thankyou sm for featuring me and my team in your video I appreciate it and congratulations!
No worries. Is good to show people a good quality of Kata performance. I always learnt a lot of things from your videos. Thank you too.
Thank you emily
Yeah Jensen you did a great job! Thanks for featureing me in the video,
Hope that you enjoy it.
Thank you
Great job Jensen you did Awsome I was very happy to be able to see you in this video and there. By super ultra god man
Thank you on behalf of jensen
Thank you
You better enter the next tournament and bring your sparring gear to class lol
Lol. I will strongly think about it. But you know I'm a Kata lover not too much into kumite, see how 🤪
Do you like you been featured in this video? You doing good.
Much appreciated mate @@clemtravlog
Thank you uncle mark
Just a heads up, if you follow the trail to the end and keep going (maybe another K or so, just follow the path) you will get to a bridge, cross the bridge and go left and you can ride behind the freeway.
Yes. I did go further and went under western ring road bridge. I stop there as the trail became a tight gravel and I'm riding a road bike so I didn't go ahead. Maybe next time they improve the path I can continue to northern part of Merri creek trail
Clem I had both my knees replaced 3.5 months ago and I needed a challenge so…after watching this video of you & Hugo climbing Mt Macedon from Woo-dend, Woodend or Woody Woody, I drove to Woodend and did the climb today - 21/11/2024. It was tough - mainly just uphill. Not ridiculous gradients but not many opportunities to just free wheel. Anyway I made and unlike you and Hugo I rode back to Woody Woody. Great fun - thanks for your inspiration mate! Gerard
Is easier to go from Woodend. The gradient on macdone side is insane.
Love it, thanks for the info.
Very good video Clem. This is my local trail and I know it very well. Entertaining video, well done! 👍
Thanks for the compliment.although I'm not living near this trail but this trail has been one of my favourites, I can't stop myself to introduce it to other cyclist who hasn't been there.
Such a shame the beautiful trail runs underneath those toxic power lines.
I use both mirror and radar, can tell you that the mirror can detect vehicles beyond radar range. I see the vehicle far behind before the radar even picks it up.
Thanks for the video.
Rushall station is a very confusing barrier on the trail. The first few times I rode it I could not work out how to get back to the trail coming from the North. That awkward underpass and tight turns are a bit of pain. It is not clearly marked - you just have to know. The St George Road zigzag is also a trap for new riders. Fortunately it opens up into a beautiful ride after that.
Indeed. But just lucky I had been ridden on this path for many times so I know where to go. Usually I just ignore the zigzag st Georges road and cross the road directly 🤣
Thank you for the video, very insightful as this will be the biggest and highest ride I will do. I must continue to train! Will you be doing the Otway Classic next year?
Thank you for the compliment. At this stage very high possibility I'll be doing next year unless any unforeseen circumstances.
@@clemtravlogAwesome! I might see you out there pumping some watts! 🤞🏻
@xstncd see you there!
Thank you for posting this
You are welcome
I love yout videos, esp cycling. You are such an enthusiastic and positive person! It was lovely seeing your family in this Daylesford video! Gerard
Thank you so much. Really happy to hear such a great motivating comment.
@ in your Daylesford video, you mentioned the early founders, Hepburn and a man called John James Egan. My mother’s oldest sister married one if his descendants! It is a small world indeed. Back on 7 Aug I had a double knee replacement. Prior to that I was a semi-serious cyclist. Now that I am 3 months into recovery I’ve got back on the bike and watching vids like yours has git me through some hard times. Thx again!
Wooo. Thats really amazing to hear that you are somehow related to these pioneer. Wish you speedy recovery and able to ride more. I was sick for pass few months and that's why I haven't been doing much cycling lately. Just did one today, will be my next episode and I'm really glad to hear that my videos give you some motivation.
@ Clem hopefully you are recovered from your illness mate. Good luck with the return to cycling!
Woaaaahhhhhhhhh
Good one sensei Feim
Excellent work! I don't want to overload you with feedback, as there is much that you could improve on. You've already identified stance as something you need to work on, and that is good. Ultimately, one of your guiding principles should be a deep appreciation of body awareness. Connect with your own body, listen to your body, and try to move naturally through the moves. Like you said, sometimes you feel like you're rushing, and while I didn't see that in your performance, make each move feel smooth and natural and it's own time. Something specific you can work on: hip rotation and vibration. I felt like there were a lot of times where you could have turned your hip into a move (shuto uke at the end of Heian Shodan) but it's something that you were never taught, or that you have forgotten. I would suggest looking up Rick Hotton and watch everything he's got on his channel. His Karate is immaculate and will help guide your own journey. If you ever want to train, improve your kata, or build your Karate, let me know! I'd love to train with you. Take care, and walk the path. OSU!
Thank you for the wonderful comment. I did realise hips turning is something I always forget to do. I'll pay more attention on it in future training. I don't mind people telling me what I can improve, accepting criticisms are the best way to identify the problem of details and I can improve. Hopefully in my next video I can see my improvement. Thank you much for helping.
Well done Jensen. Nothing like getting started early. I did the 100km, and the rain caught me on the last 20km. I doubt I will ever do the Classic again. A great day out for a LOT of people though.
Yeah I did classic last year and the ferry killed me. Body totally cool down and my got cramp. I doubt too to do classic again.
@@clemtravlog You will Clem. It is a great challenge. I did 5 over a couple of decades, but a new hip and an old knee gives me some excuse now. You are fit and young, and you know what to expect. Train physically and mentally for next year!
Thanks for the motivation. I'm actually not that young but I do love cycling. So most likely I'll still do something similar but not something that needs to 'take a long break' in between.
Well done Jensen❤
Thank you
Are there any drinking water supply stop on the route? I plan to do jogging along this route.
Not I can recall. it is better to bring your own water bottle. Most likely on the inner circle trail side may have water fountain. Others area I don't think I saw them .
Excellent video. I have ridden this path by myself and with groups many time. It's one of the best rides in Melbourne. The west side of Melbourne has some great bike paths, but unfortunately not used by many bike riders.
This is fantastic Clem a great bonding experience and hopefully Jensen continue to enjoy the great outdoors and not having his head stuck on mobile or laptop
Yeah he loves it. I just want him to reduce ipad time so cycling is a good thing for him
19:06 that is the IEV (infrastructure evaluation vehicle) that measures the track condition as well as the overhead wires for damage- i believe its actually quite rare to see so that's cool you got to see it!
Oh nice. I have no knowledge about train and this is a good information for me. Thank you!
Great channel to watch! Are you doing the Around The Bay ride tomorrow?
Thank you! Yes I'm but I'm doing the family ride as this is the first riding event for my little one.
Great video! The Show is such a great place - such a fun day! My favourites are always the dogs, the unexpected food you find, and the alpacas.
Yeah. First time there and totally enjoyed it.
Love your positive vibes bro keep it up
Thank you for the support
its wood-end, as it is the end of the woods/forest (which you rode through)!
Thanks for that confirmation!
I was cycling in Melbourne earlier this year and took so many wrong turns. I wish I could have watched some of your videos.
Some trails in Melbourne are really complicated. I will make more trail introduction videos to help others.
I am lucky enough to live in this beautiful town. I transferred to the police station here in 1989 for a better quality of life, and it’s the best thing that I ever did! The whole family ended up here, even my grandparents. I lived in Bendigo for 10yrs and was never happy, it was never my home. Came back here in 2019 and now have peace in my soul, thank you for this.
It is really a beautiful town. I love it.
@@clemtravlog it’s a lovely place to live, friendly people, great for kids. I will only leave here again feet first next time 😂 Plus we discovered that great great grandfather had lived here and was a jeweller in Barker St long before we came here. He died here, in what is now Mostyn St Clinic and used to be a private hospital. My sister worked there for 10yrs not knowing about him. So many weird connections to this place.
@@karenglenn6707 that's awesome, it is always good to learn history of our ancestor. What a great find from you!
You did not have the best day, but sometimes the wind and a bit of rain makes it a more memorable. The roads around Hanging Rock are wonderful cycling territory. You should come back and do a "'round the mountain" video. It is about 70km to do the full circuit of the base of Macedon and most of it is quiet sealed backroads with wonderful views. It is my backyard.
Yeah. I went there another time during good weather. Nice place to ride around too
All of the track was removed in 1916
Yeah. I used to live next to the trail in Caulfield south. And I read one of the plaques mentioned about it.
How come you are not cycling
Weather is too extreme these months. I try to be safe
Wild magpies
Ya. I always get swooped.
Amazing facts you have discovered I think you should send this to all the TV News networks
Haha I'm just a small potato that they may know more than me
Good work Clem. I have lived here most of my life, but there were lots of tidbits I did not know.
I'm glad this able to help you know more about the city you living in.
Nice! When you get back on the bike you’ll see a lot of improvement in your power due to strength training 💪🏽
That's what I wish too. Thanks
Hey ! i'm thinking of getting the same, but I have a question as I've seen there are 2 versions : standard and XL. It seems that you got the standard version : does it leave enough space to charge your wahoo bolt (I have the same gps) with a right angle usb cable while riding ?
Hi there, I am not sure about two different version. The one I bought is this www.99bikes.com.au/k-edge-wahoo-pro-combo-mount There's a very small gap between then computer and my handle bar so I hardly see a chance to charge it while attach it. MAYBE a L shaped cable head will do but I'm still not 100% sure. Sorry can't really help.
@@clemtravlog thanks for the answer anyway. I'll probably try a XL version to be sure
@fabrice8552 let me know the outcome too please
@@clemtravlog Hi ! I just got the XL combo today. With this longer version there's a 3cm gap between the stem and my wahoo bolt, which is enough to let me charge it with a L shape usb cable. Usefull for bikepacling
@@fabrice8552 that's a fantastic news. I'll probably have a look at it for future reference too. Good luck for your bikepacking.
Oh and bring your Elbows when you are doing bicep curls More forward to get more out of it
Good tips. I'll try it on next workout. Thank you.
Hey just going to say slow your reps down and get more tension on your squat and for your triceps pushdowns I would say slow the reps down be more controlling on the way up it would help to lower the weight for it
Thanks for the info. The video is actually a fast forward speed so it looks fast.
