That looks Awesome for painting with a 2 stage or less turbine sprayer!! 👍🏾
I actually own and use a CampbellHausefield branded Spray unit the big difference between mine and this HF unit is my Gunis all metal(Aluminum) and easy to lean with chemicals and wire brushes I’ve looked at theHF units inthe stores and other than the Sprayer unit I don’t see any major differences although I your video I’ll note yours is way quieter than mine I. Call. That a Win , I’m between homes and Shops at the moment and my next one I want to building a Turbine pump with multiple outlets built into a Spray Room to make it easier and quieter to spray Vehicles or small batches of parts asi do Woodworking and Automotive and Motorcycle Restorations and I have a Intrest in Boats as well
any chance of making a 15"?
Would not be using enamels with 2K clear!! use lacquer, acrylic lacquer, acrylics or urethane base coats over 1K or 2K primers. Then you can use 1K or 2K clears.. .
It's almost as if you're spraying with a airbrush gun lol
I think the spudder could be because it's a siphon style cup possibly.
Great review here! Nice work Sir. I think this is a very accurate review. Easy sand is good stuff for sure.
Well presented video thanks chap
I use Zinsser's Bull'sEye or Bull'sEye2 water-based (which is for interior or exterior) primer, NOT the BullEye's 1.2.3. The can will say easy to sand on the front. They both sand really nice. Covers nice. Comes off like a fine powder. Dries in about hour or less. $20-$25 per gal. No clogging. I sometimes do two quick coats then sand back flat, if needed or the if job requires an ultra fine finish then I prime a 3rd coat and sand before painting. Priming is key to a fine finish and its cheaper than paint.
Those are heavy sand scratches, it means you did not use a high enough grit to finish it properly. but forget that, you basically have autobody repair skills. why not just forget all of these home interior paints and spraymax spray cans, just use actual 2k catalyzed automotive basecoat/ clearcoat? no need to even color sand. just learn about autobody and car painting. also from experience please stay as far away from PPG brand paint, you will thank me in the future and your wallet too
What is PPG brand paint?
@@MadLadsAnonymous its the most common peddled brand of paint sold in brick and mortar stores that sell car paint. it's like the Maaco of paint, maaco is garbage in case you didn't know
You can do this with a leaf blower. Hell, a good leaf blower will do better.
Wanted to do my own kit build for a long time, biggest worry is not getting the final look quality I want. This step by step vid helps a lot to boost confidence I could make it work. Thanx!
This guy was definitely a graffiti writer.
What's the filler?
I just used ben moore primer.. (march 7) it was called insl-x STIX. Over wallpaper and i was very happy with it..
Useless and stupid video
Thank u for the honest review. I was looking at compressors but they are so pricey for me doing minor work like panels and boat motors. I will definitely pick one of these up now.
What size tips did you use?
2..0
How many Watts this machine??
hmm never seen this stuff from ben moore ill have to ask about it
Or... Just take the glove off
Looks of very impressive stuff going on here I'm a bit confused as to whats all going on between this speaker and your site but there are some really good build tips in here and your website looks interesting, particularly the crossover components that look like your own? I've been into DIY for awhile now but have somehow only just now stumbling across your channel but it looks like great DIY resource if you create a introduction video into what you are all about.
This kit YTmac05 is available on our website. And the video introduces some of the products we sell like our brand. Making a short video of what we do is a great idea. Thanks
great looking speakers. love the side panels with chamfered/angled edges. reminds me of those new super high end TAD 3 way bookshelves
Have you ever tried the hi-build automotive primer?
I owned a body shop for 24 years so yes. My videos now are for the DIY community not for the professional community. Most people don’t have a place to apply auto body materials because of the smell and the waist that comes from trying to get rid of that product.
@@hifiside5066 cool, good to know... so in your opinion this is probably the easiest way to produce good results, I'll have to give it a try👍
Is that design just looks or is it a t line or something!
It’s just a bass reflex
@@hifiside5066 it's absolutely beautiful. I would have loved to see you make a video of that build. I have been watching your videos to get better at painting speaker cabinets or anything for that matter. You are pro at it. I'm going to build a new pair just so I can paint them and practice. Thanks 👍
😂😂crossover extra??
Very nice! Is it possible to smooth out the orange peel?
Yes. The clear coat I used can be wet sanded and buffed very easily.
What clear coat did you use?
I use Renner, Envirolak and Centurion wood coatings with there primers 1k and 2k. I dont get orange peel. I wanted to try this product but now I'm not sure. It also seems a higher price point than what I use. Ill have to test for myself and see what results I get.
I can’t say I’ve used the products that you’re describing but this product works really well and I’m sure there’s better spray equipment than what I use.
Wondering if the orange peel is from the HVLP. I’ve sprayed this product with airless and it was silky smooth. No orange peel.
If it keeps putting orange peel out it may be you need a bit more air to atomise the paint a touch more or thin it down more perhaps
@@johnthemod71 yeah I’m sure there’s many different things that could be done. You could reduce the product more change the needle nozzle on the gun up the air pressure. Maybe on the next project.
Do you use an airless or HVLP should have asked sorry
Love the look of those....Very Nice....from here in Minnesota...
Good looking cabinets. I've been building my speakers since 1980. Now, and definitely not budget, employing the Raal 140-15D/ Lowther DX 65/ (2)EJ Jordan JX 150 NG II's a channel, the Jordans, each in 12 ft long waveguides. And electronics since 1990, now, vacuum tube OTL's. The cash that people are willing to pay is obscene for other people's finished products. My first undergrad in Applied Math/CS. Just 4 semesters of Physics and 10 semesters of Calculus based Math, which are just useful tools to read the JAES published empiricism and incorporate what the really high powered Individuals are designing/building.
Thanks for sharing this! Great work.
My pleasure!
I was thinking about getting a 3 stage motor and seeing how it does. You can geT 1 for about$100
Thank you so much for doing the video.
How did you thin the paint ratio?
Great video. I have purchased a Fuji turbine system after getting priced out by the "pros" for painting my motorcycle projects. My first experimental paint job was this utility trailer ruclips.net/video/ZQGtg2GSF9k/видео.html Then painted a bunch of MC engine parts. Still learning dent pulling (and other body work stuff) then on to my first real paint job giving a facelift to my thrasher bike. Then on to painting two more recent resto mod bikes that are ready for paint. I will go check out more of your videos now. Edit: Too bad. Looks like you stopped posting videos. Thanks anyway!!!
What tip size did you use for sealer, base and clear am thinking about buying this turbine sprayer once I start working again it is like 400 bucks now at Harbor Freight.
Thanks
I painted a car door and a fender and got heavy orange peel with that system. Maybe a slower reducer would have helped. Cut and cuffed it out, but that was a looong process with hardened single stage urethane (very hard paint). Do you think you can adjust that gun/paint for a glass like finish?
Great review!! Very helpful. Thank you. The paint job came out way better than I would expect from this unit. (Granted, you have way more skills than the average person 😂, but great job nonetheless). Thanks
Ca glue rubber glue coil spider pack cone inner dust cap & outer dustcap . Everything for $30 can you show proof of prices
They have a new version of this now made by Avanti that is supposed to be even better quality I may have to give it a shot
How much would something like that cost?
Price not bad did a decent job!
Hard to tell on the paint job, need a up close shots pleaseeeee!
So how lone is the hose ?
Not enough wattage and not enough battery power. If you were to change out the Amplifiers to Atleast 300w and put a larger battery into it, it would change the sound quality and last alot longer. It's already 47lbs. What's another 10lbs?.
Can this be used on a full sized car?
It can but…… the unit will probably get hot and start to cause issues in the paint process. If it was me and I was trying to paint the whole car with this machine, I would pick a color that I could do it in steps like the doors and front fenders together the hood and roof together one day etc.
Okay that took me awhile but you paint with either hand daaaaamn!!!
Lol. Yes I can spray with both hands.
Any way to run a different gun with that hose? Thanks.
What's the laminate on the speaker? I saw the prior video and I couldn't find where you identify it. Thanks.
