I know I look rough, but I didn't have time to shave before 6. I'm so glad we got an official back story for William Kaplan/Billy Maximoff, hopefully we will get further down the road in the next episode. I am so excited to see more of Joe Locke in the MCU.

First time viewer to your channel, I guess the algorithm got it right. Love your emotionally involved reaction. Not to contradict you, but I'm over 40 (way over) but I feel like I get this younger generation much better than most of my contemporaries. I absolutely love this show for its plentiful emotional intelligence and realistic depiction of its characters. Rooting not only for Charlie and Nick, but also for the whole lovely group of friends. So, I'm subscribing now, hoping to enjoy more of your reactions, and since at my age I'm declaring myself tired of gay movies with sad endings, I hope that some day you'll react to little jewels such as Love, Simon and Red, White and Royal Blue. Cheers!
Hahahaha!!! So, Collin, I found you a few months ago reacting to Agatha All Along. I adore your subdued emotional reactions. I just got done watching your episodes 1/2 video. I had to giggle a little bit when you said that pants are more comfortable. I'm an old dude, (will be 60 in April), who grew up in SW Washington State. I prefer kilts, to be quite honest, because I find pants incredibly uncomfortable. You and I can agree to disagree on the comfortability of pants. But, I will continue to enjoy your reaction videos because you're awesome, Dude!

Kit in an interview said that the song in the background of Charlies journey is really beautiful. Agreed. Its Black Friday by Tom Odell and gives us another view into Charlies dilemma. Great match. Collin, I really like your view of whats happening in S3. Your empathy and compassion are on display. I look forward to more from you. Kit also said that S3E4 is the best, he feels. I doubt that he will join the MCU. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING HIM IN WARFARE. And, looking for ard to seeingJoe in other things.

I found An Actor Prepares really hard going.
We really shouldn't have been surprised at the direction of this series when in the first five minutes of the first episode officer/neighbor Herb says, "She is really, most sincerely, dead." That's the line from the Oz coroner in the Wizard of Oz.
Really excellent reaction to this wonderful show. But it always amazes me that someone like you, so interested in acting both performing and viewing hasn't reacted to the Netflix series Young Royals. Excellent writing, acting and production. Take a look. It's amazing!

GCSE: 4& up is passing. 9 is the highest. Elle, Tori, Tara, Darcy, Sahar and Nick are all a year older than Charlie, Isaac and Tao. (They'll take their exams at the end of this season. (There are more exams in 6th form - the equivalent of Jr & Sr year in the US.) So the older kids have 2 more years before uni at this point.
Alice is currently working on the book that season 4 will be based on (fingers crossed). She said that it will also include an epilogue presumably showing Nick and Charlie at some point in the future. I hope the memory book that Charlie gives Nick in episode 3 is the epilogue, except now it’s worn and tattered and filled with memories of a lifetime together.
I think Nick's costume is meant to be a joke - his boyfriend, mother, and aunt are all in the MCU except him.
I think the costume is more than a referential joke. Aside from his love of Marvel, Nick sees himself as needing to be a protector and strong. He uses the costume of a superhero with a shield as his weapon as both a mask and support. However he can’t do anything for Charlie. He hadn’t even spoken to him at that point. The anxious concepts “What’s the point of a superhero who can’t save the one he loves” and “who am I without Charlie next to me” erupt in a moment of cathartic grief as he tearfully buries his head into Tao’s embrace.

You are doing a great job reacting to this show. Two future reactions I think you would enjoy and your audience would enjoy watching are Red, White, and Royal Blue and The Wild Robot. Kit does one of the voices in that one.
Between this and Agatha All Along, Joe needs all the awards.
I began watching the series being impressed by Kit Connor's acting (especially his abilities to use facial micro-expressions and alter his voice to reveal emotions. (Of course, he's been acting since he was 8 (in TV, movies, and on stage), so he's had time to develope all that.) But Joe Locke's first filmed role was in Heartstopper. Some amateur experience but no professional experience before trying out for the role of Charlie. In the beginning, in season one, I thought he was 'pretty good.' But this season, Holy Mother of Pearl! -- he's been wonderful! Some of my favorite scenes of his this season: *** The one in 3x2 when he's talking to Nick on the phone and can barely get out the words to say that he has an eating disorder; *** The one in 3x3 as he reads his letter to his parents and says he wants to get better; *** The one in 3x6 when he has a drunken conversation with Nick in the kitchen (you'll know the one when you get there); *** And a conversation with Tori in 3x8 -- his use of his voice was right on. (I won't elaborate on the scene because it might be too much of a spoiler.) *** *** *** PS: When Joe was doing the scene in 3x2 on the phone, Kit was behind the camera both observing and feeding Joe the lines (Kit's side of the phone call). Kit said later that he was very impressed with how phenomenal Joe's acting was in that scene.
@@slm_766I would say Joe has always been more than "pretty good.". Kit couldn't be as good as he was without a great scene partner. Joe's part in that is often underappreciated. That said, he has gone from really good to astounding.
This season especially Joe’s acting has leveled up. Love him. ❤
@@georgeweatherford1027 Yeah. I came into watching the first season of show without really knowing anything about it or the books. I have a tendency to feel overwhelmed by lots of visual informaton coming at me all at once; I was not able to focus on every single actor on the first watches. (Instead, I tend to zero in on dialogue to get a strong sense of character) Kit Connor tended to grab my attention (and still does). I keep wondering whether I could ever do what he does with his face and voice.... Since then, I've watched a lot of interviews with the guys, and they both have said that they really did not know what they were doing at first --- and that their acting partner made doing their own acting possible. They have been a team. *** *** *** Since then, I've binge-watched all of the seasons, sometimes several times per week. So I've been able to focus on the actors one at a time, at times. And so when I got to season 3, I had trained myself to really look at and listen to Joe Locke. (I'm most drawn to how he uses his voice in the emotional scenes.) I agree that his acting in season 3 has been astounding. 💖💜💙
I think they did a really good job with portraying his OCD. I could recognize the signs from my own experiences (though they aren't as severe), and seeing it portrayed so accurately felt so refreshing compared to a lot of the stereotypical representation of it.

Why episode 4 is the GREATEST episode of ALL #Heartstopper
Episode 4 is probably my favorite episode of the entire series. Great storytelling and amazing performances.
Before I saw the episode (maybe before it dropped on Netflix), I saw an interview, in which Kit Connor said he thought that episode 4 was the best made episode in all of Heartstopper.

Kit and Joe, in interviews, have said that Kit was not going to be Hulkling. They also said that as far as they know Kit was not going to be in the MCU. In a couple of interviews, Kit said something to the effect that all of the Heartstopper actors are enjoying watching and supporting their fellow actors spread their wings and develop their own individual careers.

Looking at Kit's eyes? Yeah sure! Me too! 😛Kit in an interview a few months ago said that he had to shave his hairy chest every two weeks to fit the parts that he has been playing.
And when Kit said that the biweekly shaving was not very fun, Joe piped up, saying that it WAS fun for everybody else who were watching him getting shaved. 🤣
GCSEs are taken at the end of year 11 in the UK (=GRADE 10 IN US) They are taken in as many or as few subjects as you want or are able and they can determine what happens in years 12-13 (=USA Junior/senior years). So Nick, Tara etc are taking them but Tao, Isaac and Charlie will take them next year. 12-13 years are called (for traditional historical reasons) 'sixth form'. Usually 3-4 specialist subjects are taken, with the exams - A levels - taken after two years. In GCSEs, 4 is a bare, scraped pass. 9 is the maximum. Tara got all 9s - the best possible result. Nick got a mixture, but he passed them all, even Maths. He got 9 in French, of course.
The GCSE's taken in Year 11 cover all the cumulated courses the students have taken in secondary school. We saw on Tara's and Nick's score lists that they took 9 exams (9 different subjects). Tara got all 9s on hers, which is why the teacher invited her to take the Oxbridge(?) course -- a prep course to get her ready to go to Oxford after her Year 13. Charlie sent Nick a photo of Nick's test report. I took a look at the list. It shows the following subjects and scores: English 6 Maths 5 Chemistry 6 Biology 7 Physics 7 French 9 Physical Education 9 Geography 8 Psychology 6 We already knew that maths was his weakest subject and the 9s in French and PE are no surprise. *** *** *** In book 4, right after Nick's returned from the 3 week holiday, at the beginning of school (his Year 12) --- we see an illustration of Nick holding his list of 4 A-level subjects. These are the ones he chose and will focus on in Years 12 and 13. At the end of Year 13, he will take the A Level exams on those subjects. The A Levels are important for not only getting into a university program, but they are looked at by prospective employers. The ones Nick chose seem to be subjects that he got higher scores for on his GCSE's. They are: Psychology (GCSE 6) Physical Education (GCSE 9) Biology (GCSE 7) Geography. (GCSE 8) * * * [Spoilerish]: When Nick goes on the road trip to check out UNIs, he told a tour guide that he might study Sports Science or Psychology at UNI. * * * PS: Right after Season 1 landed, Kit and Joe were studying for their A Levels. I saw their first interview (which was 1 week after Heartstopper landed on Netflix). The interviewer pointed out that they would have normally had them on towards the end of the show -- as the main attraction. BUT they needed to leave early to study for their A Levels, so they had them on first thing. 💖💜💙

(But some students had different subjects chosen. Probably not everyone took French; some took Spanish, for example.) Secondary school starts in year 7 (right?) So they have 3 years to decide which subjects to drop from the GCSE list? That makes sense to me; Year 9 is like the US 8th grade, which is not considered part of high school . (Some places in the US call that the last year of junior high school/ aka middle school) *** *** *** So the fact that you can choose your test subjects for the GCSEs (ones you believe you can pass/do well on) ----- That seems analogous to how you choose the 3 or 4 subjects for the A Levels ---- Is that right? *** *** *** PS: Kit Connor took A Levels in drama, English literature, and history. @slm_766 nine subjects is standard at GCSE. Some (geeky!) students take more and other students take as many as they think they can pass. They still study subjects but don't necessarily take GCSEs in them. I dropped Physics, for example, but took Biology and Chemistry. I took two languages.

Interesting Tidbit.......Joe Locke said in an interview, "That the scene with Evan Peters in the parking garage, actually took place in the actual garage of the apartment building where he had rented an apartment during the filming of the show.....He also had the rental car he was using robbed twice in one week there.....Eddie was right to be "worried" !.....WOOF
