Good Thrill Hunting
Добавлен 3 сен 2021
Growing up with a family owned farm was an incredible fortune that I've only just started to fully appreciate. Surrounded by avid hunters and fishermen as relatives, I was groomed from an early age as an outdoorsman. The older and more independent I became, the more I expanded my outdoor hobbies. Good Thrill Hunting is a channel where I can video archive all my cherished experiences to share with family and friends and relive when I'm older. I try to tailor my videos to inspire and teach others who are less experienced but interested in learning how to engage in similar adventures.

Glacier National Park Brook Trout Catch and Cook DIY Backcountry Fishing
Hey man! I’m the guy who met you near Sprague Creek! Thanks for the tips and it was trippy meeting you in the flesh. After I saw you I was able to catch a some really nice Brookies on the east side, a few rainbows, and a fat cutthroat in the skinny water above Red Rocks. Anyway, I was a great trip and even cooler getting g to meet you. Keep the sweet videos coming!
Hell yeah man! Glad you got into some!
Dude! Awesome video! Mad props for doing all of that over one night that hike is mean, and with the gear you were carrying, you're a badass! I've been up to trout/arrow a few times and let's just say the biggest trout in those lakes sure ain't the cuttys...
My wife and I were the ones that ran into you coming from Upper Two Medicine Lake. I hope you did well. I just gotta say an Alpaca makes some nice rafts. I’ve done a 3 day trip with a pack weight of 41 pounds and my wife’s was a little lighter. They are pricey, but we’ve had ours 13 years now.
I'm seriously tempted to upgrade! The 70lb pack 24 mile day was rooooough! Thanks for the advice! Hope you enjoy the rest of your time here!
Love the video keep it coming!
Boundary waters are gorgeous! But they can be unforgiving.
Anything significant happen to you guys during this trip? Entered the bwca a few days after this whole ordeal and I’ve been wanting to hear some stories but can’t find much online.
I caught a 30" walleye.
The road to our entry point washed out in three places. However by the time we got to the parking lot they had temporary fixes in place so vehicles could get out. Other than that, just a lot of water bailing out of the canoes and a fire to dry ourselves and gear off
@@goodthrillhunting damnnnn boyyyy
I always wondered how the fishing was there. Not a lot of ambition to go myself however.
It's reel good!
Is this like, found footage?
No, this my first hand footage from a trip I just got back from. Search for news of Ely MN road washouts on 6/20/2024.
@@goodthrillhunting Glad you made it out. I was halfway joking.
@@wesKEVQJ haha gotcha, yeah it was wild. The outfitter said he had over 8" in his rain gauge in Ely, but we got hit with the worst of it up where we were. He is 86 years old and said he's never seen anything like this before.
Holy shit dude. Need to hear the story when I get back to the states
Got skunked at Lake McDonald last August from a boat. I saw zero fish.
Seems pretty sterile.
@@goodthrillhunting For sure. I know there is some decent fishing to be had in the park, but Lake McDonald aint it.
I just found a bunch of these the other day. Had so many I dehydrated most of them. .
Nice work.
@@goodthrillhunting They threw me off at first because they aren't native, but they are common enough to be on the cover of a book I have.
Nice. Fished trout lake a few years ago. Wanting to go back
It was pretty dang consistent catches. No exaggeration, the majority I caught this day were not on film, needed to conserve battery.
Enjoyed the video. Never knew that was an option. Thx for sharing a unique experience! Subbed
Thanks for the watch and kind words. Looks like you've got some cool trip videos to share as well. Sub for a sub!
@@goodthrillhunting thank you I appreciate that! Glacier is on my short list!
@SoloSchmitty I have a GNP playlist, and am headed there for my 4th and longest trip yet coming up in a few weeks. You should know all the best fishing spots in the park by the time I'm done 😅
@@goodthrillhunting awesome! I will be watching for sure, thx!
Cool video! Love the suspense as the birds were coming into range. That’s what turkey hunting is all about! Way to go, guys!
Which lake in Glacier is this? Great video!
I'm a bit hesitant to burn spots because of the negative ecological impact of millions of people seeing names of specific spots on the internet and flocking there. I may share specific names of certain lakes, but others I might only slip in hints so the ones who are willing to research and work to find spots will be rewarded.
G move @@goodthrillhunting
That trout jumped back into the net! lol
I also thought it was pretty funny, but then it happened again on a different lake, and now I think maybe it's more common than I realized. They're going for what appears to be the nearest shelter.
What’s the best lake you found so far in GNP?
Bullhead has some pretty big trout and you can walk the swift current valley trail there and fish from shore. It's a pretty good hike though so not a lot of people want to carry the fishing gear there. Check it out!
Catch and release!👍👍👍
I can't tell the difference between Westslope Cutthroat trout, and Yellowstone Cutthroat trout, and since the former is native, I release all Cutthroats I catch. (Legally required to catch and release native species)
Hey thanks for a great video. So many on here don’t fully understand conservation and the steps that you’ve taken here to thoughtfully harvest these fish with respect, but you never lose your cool in the comments. You must have an iron will. One thing: you shared a link in another review of your kayak which is probably the cheapest and best reviewed on the market, the intex challenger. Can you share a little about your experience with the kayak in terms of portability? You hike a hellova long way with it, and at 25 pounds that seems reasonable, but how bulky is it deflated? Is it tippy? Leaky? Would recommend?
Funny you ask, I'm actually currently editing a gear shakedown video where I put my kayak in my pack and show the full weigh in. As far as tippy, no. Crazy stable actually. Being canvas, it rolls over the waves and morphs to match the shape of the water surface. I've taken some serious waves on St. Mary and felt totally comfortable, more comfortable than in a kevlar canoe or fiberglass kayak. I've never had a leak, haven't had to repair a puncture. The canvas is about as sturdy as a white water raft's. There's two air chambers, so if you lose one due to a puncture, the other will get you back to shore. I already bought another Intex challenger as a backup for the day this thing dies, so far that backup inflatable is still sealed up in the original box.
That’s incredible. Especially for the price. I look forward to your gear video. Good stuff all around and I hope to hook up with some trout when I visit Glacier in July.
Thanks a lot Obama! Haha great video as always!
I was hoping some folks would appreciate the humor there 😅. Ironic that it was Obama that legalized carrying in the NPS.
@@goodthrillhunting he was know for this pro gun stance lol
I didn't know mock oyster is edible thanks for sharing that
Gthth6😅
Translation please
They been in that spot for a long time big ones 🤣
I never knew about the ash...my farm has alit of them...dead of course but still standing...
What state are you in bud?
WI
I've never found that many in one day let alone one spot... Wow
Public land too 🍄
@@goodthrillhunting any tips you can give me?
@@kygreenskeeper8326 low flat areas that moisture and nutrients drain to and collect. Look for dead and dieing trees of these types: elm, populus genus, (poplar, cottonwood, aspen, etc.) fruit trees (apple and mulberry), I've heard types of ash but haven't found that myself. Find a grove of one of these types, like a huge grove of poplar trees that had a something like a water level change kill them all and you could find some impressive hauls. Cover ground and pin your spots for future years.
@@goodthrillhunting awesome... Thx bud
@@kygreenskeeper8326 last tip, subscribe lol. I try to drop hints and tips in every video I upload otherwise what would be the point of sharing?
Bet this guy thinks sex is just as good with a condom too. Get out of here with your half morels.

Excuse me those are RED 😅
Mice storage
Yes it's right onto to which other commentor have say that the decoy turkey, hunting tool, hunters friend, get fill with these cat food pieces from animal in nature as a store
raccoons or squirrels be stealing it and storing it for winter 😂
Put a rubber band around it will be easier for you to gobble
What brand of box call is that
@shoot2grill369 custom made it for me on a CNC machine.
What lures were you using?
Plastic stick baits work, just about any. Rattletraps. Perch colored rapala. Mini walleye rapala. Just about anything shiny and rattley. You can also jig a plastic worm. They're not finicky, they've probably never seen a lure.
Those are half free morels
Very entertaining-Thank You!
I'm headed to Isle Royale in August. What are you using for lures at Chickenbone? Richie?
Everything works. Rapala, Mepps, you name it. They're aggressive.
What a shot

great fishing
All I ever caught in Richie were Northern Pike. I've been there four times.
Thanks for confirming. Any decent size? Two years and it's like we couldn't get something over 20-22" after catching doooooozens
After reading all the elk hunting articles, and viewing all the elk hunting videos, I discovered one secret to hunting public land pressured elk; If there are any natural springs present in my unit, I hunt them. The more hidden away they are, the more big bulls make use of them.
Absolutely. Start with springs, find thick cover nearby that lets them see one way and smell the other.
totally depends on optic height lol
Yup with my eothech setup 25/250 works best
Try 36 yard zero. Good to go out to 300
