In this next module we will explore America after the Civil War by focusing on Reconstruction & Black Political Participation within a new political economy. We will also discuss issues of Jim Crow and the emergence of the KKK.
In order to explore these topics we will begin by looking at the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments. Then we will discuss issues of racial inequality with the cases of Plessy vs. Ferguson and Brown vs the Board of Education. Finally, we will address the role of the KKK during the Reconstruction Era.
