Добавлен 26 апр 2016
Uzumaki Garage is an independent automotive series I created to share techniques I use to build & maintain Japanese cars. I mostly build JDM classics like the Mitsubishi Evo and the Honda DC2R Integra but I am interested in many cars. I'm not a qualified mechanic, I enjoy taking on new tasks I haven't done before and share what I learn.

Would I be Wright in saying you smoke weed?
@tonysuley4306 Haha No not me mate. Although it is legal here. or at least decriminalised ???
Nice
@speedy9able thanks man. I hope it helps... or you found it interesting at least 🙂
@UzumakiGarage yes man txn a loot
What a legend! And I don't mean the car. ! You've got my honest respect. Great work !
@Hondrenalin Thanks very much mate, glad you enjoyed watching the rebuild 🙂 cheers Andy
With the fitting of a roll cage it could become a real rally car. But also this repair work is Great.😊
Haha! Well I considered adding roll cage and going in tarmac rally events but that's too expensive nowadays. Everyone is so fast and has plenty of money to burn.
Woow superb . From where did you buy tm stikers
@@vikumdarshana9133 i bought the stickers mostly from Amayama. The big stickers anyway. But some were NLA and were gifts from my friend. and a couple were reproductions from the UK. Do you need stickers?
mate that's huge amount of work came out so clean and cool hell yeah
Thanks mate. Yes a huge amount of work in less than ideal conditions (in my backyard) but it came up pretty great hey?
absolutely mate and i fully understand how difficult works in this conditions, i built my GC8 from shell in garage but unfortunately we have winter under 20C• here (:
@@i.parafin yeah man. Makes it 10x harder. Well done on your GC8. Most people never attempt this sort of thing. These cars need to be saved. 🙂
@@UzumakiGarage thank you! 100% they are deserve it
How long did it take you?
It took approx 1250 hours work. Plus hundreds of hours searching for part numbers, buying parts, cataloguing parts etc.
@@UzumakiGarage Hi Thank you thats true dedication on your side . Reason why i asked because i wantedd to know the time frame it takes to strip down a car , bring it back restored but with different components. my current car is getting restored by a local shop in my country ( since i cant work with cars) i had it serviced last March 2024 , for a regular lancer full evolution convert (without the bodykits) but with AWD and 4g63T engine fast track up to present time, they have removed the floor and now finalizing the body . I just want to compare the time frame of your work with theirs if theres justice to the work that they are doing . thank you very much for the video .
@ thanks for commenting mate. I think your build is very different to mine as lots of your floor and suspension will need to be replaced for the AWD components. I think it will be a very expensive project. Can you not buy Evos in your country?
@UzumakiGarage hard to buy evos here most legit chassis evos here are collected and sold for un an unreasonable price more of a hoarders thing. Hence most folks here source parts from japan and get by with it through full convertion. Thanks for your inspiring videos while I'm here waiting for the project. Wish I had tools and space to work and experience as yours. Best of luck to you mate. Nice project you have there
@ thanks very much and good luck with yours too. 🙂
Insane 😍😍😍
Thanks man. I'm glad you liked it. cheers!
Wow,the attention to detail and the amount of hours in this build are mind boggling.Nice job.
@ddhmc8908 Thanks very much mate. yes the hours I worked on it was pretty crazy but all worth it in the end. It turned out great considering i did it in my backyard without a weather proof shed etc etc etc. Are you in Australia too?
Wrong boot lid
Well spotted @cosworth ! Yes I'm still looking for a boot lid with the factory cutouts for the garnishes. I have new garnishes ready to go on but I need an SNGF2 or Evo 5 boot lid with the factory holes. I know you can cut holes in my regular evo 6 boot lid but that is a bit dodgy and I think it would be more likely to crack too. I hope you didn't dislike my video because of that.
@ try the uk market and never happy to see Tommy get fixed, in my eye lot of Unnecessary new parts where buy but not my evo or money
Unreal some accomplishment 🎉
@martinocconor4399 Thanks mate. One day I hope to get a portable low rise car scissor lift, that will make the next project a lot more fun. I'm saving towards that atm 🙂
Awesome restoration! Honestly my favourite generation of the EVO. Loved the way it came out!
@@FrankieBNJ thanks man much appreciated. Yeah i love the way it really popped when the decals went on. Transformed it, big time!
Quality workmanship right there , serious respect it looks better than factory 😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻👍🏻
thanks very much Shaun. I humbly think you're right mate, particularly around the rear suspension as the nice bright red and glossy paint gives better protection against stone chips and rust too. cheers Andy
The Fact that you managed to find Original Genuie Parts In 2025 Is Literally outstanding like my mind cant even proccess it.. Respect to Mitsubishi and more respect to you for saving a diamond.. I actually have one question though.. How much TIME did you spend on this project.. Cheers
Thank you mate I appreciate you saying that. Nowadays a lot of Mitsubishi parts are becoming "No Longer Available" too but currently they're still easier to get compared to my same age Honda Integra. And then sometimes a Mitsubishi start making these NLA parts again which is awesome but then the opportunistic part sellers snap them up quickly to profit from them. I'm still buying new OEM parts for the evo as I find more things I need, and for my next project, so it is getting harder and much more expensive now. I roughly added up that I spent 1250 hours working on the car as I did record some hours while I was working on it. Also, thats not including the hundreds of hours I spent working out part numbers, buying them from all around the world and keeping track of parts in a spreadsheet.
@UzumakiGarage that's dedication on another level my friend... That's something that i see really rare in these days... Well i hope that dedication goes to your other projects and see unreal results.. i will be waiting with excitement on them 🔥🔥
@ I was so focused and obsessed with this resto. I really want to do something new if my health and finances improve. Cheers mate.
Absolutely beautiful work, well done, enjoy 👌🏼
Thanks @Daveybob I am sorting out a few issues right now but hopefully I'll be driving it without issues next month. Fingers crossed I can drive the Evo a lot and make some more videos before winter arrives again.
Nice attention to detail, I have an evo 6 everything is aftermarket if replaced but if I had a tme I'd do exactly what you are doing all oem original
Thanks @andrewbax6761 Yes I love the way the OEM parts fit perfectly and look "period correct" of course too. thanks for your comment. Did you build your car for street use?
Omg that's a lot of work
Yes but when its all freshly painted it is very satisfying bolting on all the brand new parts. thanks for your comment mate
Awsome work, respect bro o7
Thanks mate. cheers
bloody brilliant, well done lad!
Thanks mate 🙂much appreciate!
What a huge job! Congratulations. Question - why did you start with a crash damaged car, and not the straightest shell you could find?
@m1chi13l Thanks mate, and thats a good question. Finding a straight, rust free, red Evo TME at a reasonable price is not easy in Australia. I didn’t have a “Grand Plan” to build a showroom / concourse condition car on a rotisserie, I just wanted to save this evo from the scrap yard, tidy it up so it was nice and drive it without feeling guilty about increasing the mileage on the speedo. Yes I got a bit carried away with all the new OEM parts but I don’t regret what I have done. Cheers Andy
Beautiful restoration. That must been a huge undertaking. Hats off to you for staying true to as oem as possible. Definitely not cheap but totally worth saving.
Thanks mate. Yes it really was a big challenge. Especially without a proper workshop. Working outside in extreme temperatures was not fun. But you do what you have to do I guess. 🙂
Great vid. New subscriber here.
Thanks Tim, much appreciated. I love getting feedback. Welcome to my Channel 🙂cheers Andy
Amazing work! Very worthwhile car to be saved. Thanks for the video
Thanks very much! and thank you for commenting too. I love getting feedback, it gives me motivation to do more. cheers Andy
How did I go with the evo 6
Thanks for your interest mate. 🙂 Not any progress on the White 6 as I haven't been feeling well. I did re-assemble it though so I could start it and get it up to temp every month to keep the engine happy and healthy. But now I need to dismantle the rear end again, as I need to borrow it's Fuel Tank for the TME.
Awesome ❤❤❤❤
Cheers mate. Glad you liked it 🙂
I don't even like EVO's but this is, TOP NOTCH!
Haha thanks man 🙂@Mexmex1975
This is crazy, I love it! ❤
@MMC_Galant haha thanks very much mate. Being a Galant man you must be a hands on mechanic guy too.
@ they are not that bad 🥲
@@MMC_Galant sorry I didn't mean that in a negative way

Thanks very much Arjan. I'm very happy you liked my resto. cheers
Along with contempo concepts this is the cleanest OEM restoration Tommy yet! Bravo on the retirement gold 😎
Thanks very much mate 🙂 I love getting great feedback like this. Cheers Andy

Just subbed. Fellow Canberra car RUclipsr
Hey Brad. Good to meet you. Subbed back! 🙂
@ will you be at festival of speed next weekend?
@@Brad_Tuohy No I won't be going. I tried to enter last year but wasn't accepted. I understand my Evo is not a supercar but I thought Evo rally heritage would've made it eligible.
@ yeah agreed. That’s a bummer. They have asked me to display my twin supercharged drift car 🤗
@@Brad_Tuohy oh cool, well done! I hope you do your "Victory Skid" down their demonstration race track. (and get someone to film it for your channel.)
Absolutely amazing work!
Thank you so much. I hope you will enjoy some of my other videos too. cheers
Hell yeh mate. Save em all
Cheers mate. Mitsubishi only made 145 of this particular model for the world, so yeah, had to save this year 2000 legend.
Love your work!
Thanks Kevin. Appreciate your feedback. cheers mate. Andy
Holy shit, its near enough to brand new now
Thanks mate. Yes thousands of new parts and lots of love later. But I love the fact that it had a life in Japan before too. Thankfully it came to Australia a long time ago so rust isn't a problem for it and it was from Tokyo too so no snow or salty roads. cheers
My evo was recently in a similar accident. This gave me hope and motivation to fix it myself! :)
Thanks for the comment mate. If I can help with advice or more details of what I did just reach out. Do you Instagram your car? and Good Luck with it.
@@UzumakiGarage YES I do, I'll reach out to you. Really appreciated!
Wow! SUperb!
Thanks very much mate. Really happy you enjoyed and gave me a comment. Its a big help so,Thanks!
This is what you call a restoration , one step at a time , good on you mate ❤
Thanks mate. I really appreciate your feedback. Cheers 🙂I see you work on brakes sometimes too?
BUENO TU VIDEO ME PODRIAS DECIR QUE ES ESO QUE SALE EN EL MINUTO 13.32" (WELL IN YOUR VIDEO YOU COULD TELL ME WHAT IS THAT THAT COME OUT AT MINUTE 13.32")
It is the Road Safety flare which is a legal requirement for cars in Japan. This one has also a metal spike on the end which you can use to break a window.
Good job, buddy........ sucks that they had to do more damage to it while in the warehouse, were they held liable for it?
Yeah I was pretty annoyed with that, especially the quarter panel, it shouldn't have happened. No respect or care was taken. And you would think a tow truck driver would know the hood needs to be secured when towing so the wind doesn't lift it up into the roof!
great video mate!
Cheers for the comment mate. Glad you liked the video :)
Thank you 🙏♥️
You're very welcome 🙂 Thanks for watching!
This is incredible! It seems like you painted different parts of the car at different times, how did you manage to get the colour match consistent, or did you just buy a massive of amount in the beginning and use that same batch?
I did buy one batch of colour that was enough for most of it, and gave it a good stir after opening the can. But I think the solid colour red is forgiving? maybe? not sure. It might have been noticable with a yellow colour or certainly with metallics. Most of the body colour red would have been painted over about 6 months at a guess. Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.
@@UzumakiGarage Ah yes that makes sense that it was all from one batch, love it, inspires me to work on my own car and get it done!
@@Obsessioncardetailing It is very rewarding to do and I also need to have some sort of project going on. I don't like to waste any days doing nothing.

Absolutely stunning, what a massive effort! Brilliant to see such commitment to restoring an iconic car
thanks mate, I was obsessed doing the resto as I had heard pausing is what causes restorations to fail. You have to keep at it and keep making progress. Obsessed or possessed? I'm not sure haha
