Yea that is a bit too much cooper grease but I think you might be getting mixed up, when the grease is on the collar that's where your issue is, doesn't really matter if you put copper or ceramic but I bolt with no grease can prove to bo to be difficult to get off sometimes as you know

Give me a Rover 75 to fix any day 😅. Simple , only 12 electronic modules in total. All easy to access apart from SRS DCU which rarely gives any trouble. We've specialised in these since the demise of MGR in 2005. Only need one set of simple tools. Parts are cheap Our own 2003 Tourer has 210k miles still going strong , 50mpg Happy days 😊

This trade will also be like the rest throw away culture is already creeping in. Parts and Labour outweighing the vehicle cost on a regular basis 😂 However it means competent technicians will be in even more demand

I’d be tempted to pull the engine and gearbox out on the lifting table for that and quote the insurance accordingly 😂

Hell, I had to give a pound of flesh from my forearm just to replace BMW's craptastic plastic charge pipe on my N55 - can't imagine the nightmare of adding probable death by electrocution to the mix! Keep the faith, Brother!

Hey there! After replacing spark plugs, coils and injectors i came across this solenoit variation between target vs actual position and i was able to replace the two eletrical vanos actuators on my Mini Cooper S F56 B48 engine. I noticed some slight improvements but the variatons still persist, specially at constant light acceleration. Would you say that if i was able to remove the eletrical actuator i could also try and extract/replace the VANOS central valve aswell? If yes what would be the ttool?

Is there any play at all or should they be locked solid, I’m having problems setting up my timing on a n55 because they move slightly when I hand turn the motor to check it and it’s always off a little bit

Hello, thanks for the amazing video, it's very insightful! I have been struggling with my car for the past 6 months to diagnose it, at different garages, with no luck! Are you located in the UK and can i bring my car in for you to check, please? Or if you could kindly give me any advice on this as i'm starting to give up on fixing it as it has cost me so much... 😢 ----------------Car: -2013 E88 (1 series) BMW 318i, N43 engine, (manual, petrol). ----------------Codes: -P0171 (System Too Lean - Bank 1) -2A2B fuel mixture adaptation. -2A99 (Crankshaft - Exhaust Camshaft Correlation) ----------------Symptoms: --------when cold: -starts/runs fine on cold starts --------When warmed up (after 30 minutes drive) -CEL comes up -extended cranking when attempting to start the car -RPM fluctuates when idle -Fuel injectors keep loosing their coding values and show wrong values -when inspecting the timing chain through the engine oil cap with a screwdriver, i notice some slack. ----------------Notes and work done so far: -Injectors/coils/spark plugs/vanos solenoids all changed less than 3K miles ago. -MAF cleaned recently -High and low fuel pressure pumps checked -NOX sensor changed recently -Battery changed -water pump changed Looking forward to hearing back from you!!
