I have a 1974 Toro 726 (Mod31763) I got for free, so no complaints in that department. However, when I drained the oil, about 1/2 pint (yep, that's all) of jet black think oil came out. Just before that I did verify it started, but it smoked like a Big Boy locomotive. I pulled the head off and found a few large scores on the cylinder wall and believe it needs oversized by first boring out the cylinder. Have you ever done this? I"m looking for a video that shows the process. Any help is greatly appreciated. I really want to bring this ole' machine back to life, as 'she' saw it in the 70's. Thanks!

Hey AJ! Just wanted to say that I've come back to this video playlist about a dozen times while going through my USC2 and it's been immensely helpful. I'm a beginner, and a visual learner. Without your troubleshooting videos as a guide I don't know that I'd be able to make sense of the info on forums and in the IO Manuals I have. I appreciate the effort you put into making these available and you should know how valuable and helpful they are! I still have a ways to go with getting my Firestar to function at its best (I'm a little intimidated to replace the caps, thats next!), but it is playing *some* selections and scanning and playing stuff. Super exciting. I would love to find a color-match of translucent paint for the parts that have flaked off, but no dice on that yet. Also, the back of my selection keypad has four dip-switches. I cannot find any info about this anywhere and was curious if you knew what they were for? I wasn't sure if they were for pricing options or something. Thanks again!

Man... THANK YOU! It's always good to hear that it was helpful to someone. I'm not gonna lie... I have even used these videos a few times to remind me on what I did to fix something. HA! Glad its helpful. I plan to do more in the future. Sometimes the thrill of the hunt gets the best of me because I forget to start recording before I dive in. These are kind of hard to understand but once you get familiar with everything it starts getting easier and before no time you'll have it running and be looking for another one to bring home. 😉

This is actually a 1970 model. Like automobiles new jukeboxes was introduced in the fall for the following year. This was called an Apollo because of the moon mission in 1969. The lines on the bottom glass doors are supposed to represent the main displays at Houston command center. The metal screen on the top panel was never blue. They was silver. I think some of your yellowing is most likely tobacco smoke stained. The bottom glass doors have a white translucent plastic that has yellowed due to age. That can be replaced which will lighten up the glass doors graphics. The top light that you but the blue plastic cover on never had any thing covering it. The plain white bulb was to light up the selection trays and the lower glass doors. The plastic white selection trays can be removed and soaked in a peroxide solution out in the sun and will lighten them up. I bought this same jukebox 3 years ago and restored it to working condition. Thankfully the one I got was in a home and had been lovingly care for but the control center needed to be be recapped and a few resistors replaced. I cleaned all the contacts and dried up oil and then applied fresh where needed. I also had to take apart the keypad and clean the contacts and bingo it works like a charm.

i normally am a big fan of original stuff, i was thinking to repair them, but i replaced them for sica speakers, fits perfect (had to cut a tiny bit of wood to get them in the hole that fits nice. and they sound a lot better, not a change to some sort of modern sound , the jukebow still sounds vintage, but before the change i listened to the one speaker that worked , some words where hard to understand, and now its crisp and clear wathever the band is singing and playing. i had also one cone rotten, not as bad as yours, just one tear from moister , and one speaker had a coil sticking witch i could get loose with some force . people are spending money and time to repair the amps, but if that old speaker sticks or does not move like it should your amp is in danger or your sound is just bad . my amp was still sending power to a speaker with a sticking coil, waiting for a disaster to happen. SICA 12 D 1,5 CS 12 inch - 200 Watt Full range is what was recommand to me for an olympian , after a few hours of play they start to perform realy well. (they have to play in). the sound of that ac/dc gitar is like real , voices from brian are spitting in your ear and bass is nice to. Also the horns (coils) are most of the time broken, those can be repaired with new coils. (better coils that do not break from vibration but build with the same material ) there is a guy that have a repair clip on yt , and coils are cheap on fruugo or ebay etc . my juke came with aftermarket tweeters (100watt) but the horns sound better, they throw the highs out further with less power from the amp. these seeburgs sound absolutely great ! keep them playing :)

OOPS guys out there in Jukebox land. Please on no event bend a leaf switch contacts. Keep the settings as presented. However to account for setting auto 33 rpm in off motion, simply join / solder a neat cable/wire link between the two leaf terminals which activates speed control . This will allow you to return to auto 33 rpm at a later stage in jukebox life without the tricky task resetting points. Bye the way " A STUNNING SEEBURG"
