We are starting to feel a bit of the arrival of autumn here (it's about time! 😄), in fact as I write this message it is raining at times. Although generally weather is still pleasant and many people are still enjoying the beach. I was really surprised by the industrial past of this town, visiting it you wouldn't suspect that in the past it was an important center of the coal industry. I regret that nothing of it remains, although I also regret that due to this industry the forests in the area were destroyed, the surroundings are an authentic desert landscape, I'm not surprised that part of the film Lawrence of Arabia was filmed there. Curious thing about the name San Andrés in the United States is that you use a variant of that name in Spanish to call the San Andreas fault (the pronunciation is almost the same), instead of using the name in Spanish or in English. 😄 You are becoming a real expert in Spanish urbanism. You are right, this town hall is easy to find, it is where it is supposed to be, in the main square. The strange thing is that the main church of Carboneras was not in that square either... In fact, in the short time I was in the town, I did not see any church!! What a strange town! 😆 I understand you perfectly about the palm trees, in the interior of Spain it is also very rare to find them, so I also like to see these parks full of palm trees when I return to the coast from Salamanca. You're right, beaches in this town are quite wide which I like, where I live on the Costa Blanca the beaches are narrower and in high season when it's crowded with people you hardly have any space to leave your towel, here instead it seems like you have all the space you need. As you can see, on this occasion I couldn't film at sunset and at that time everyone was on the beach, so the rest of the town looks very quiet. It's fun to see how the kids play football on the beach, although it's also a bit risky because if I get too close maybe I might get hit by a ball 😄 Thank you very much for your visit. Veo que los españoles, a excepcion de Antonio Machado, con el cual estoy muy de acuerdo, y soy de esta era, y digo que este pueblo presentado en este video tiene casas horrorosas, es tenebroso feo, feo, feo. Y de seguro que estas fueron las mismas casas de las que Antonio Machado hablo, esa arquitectura ha estado ahi por centenares. Ahora, por atro lado, si he de ser sincero, es por esto que quiero venir a España. Cuando hablo de esas casa feas como lo dijo Antonio Machado, me refiero a todas las casas de campo por todo el pais, no nesesariament las grandes ciudades. Que si estoy fascinado con las horrorosas casas que existen en Galicia, Asturias, extremadura, la rioja etc etc? O si, todas las quiero ver. And although I think you are referring to your current apartment in Boston, out of curiosity, did the buildings in Santa Barbara also have a similar architectural design to those shown in this tour? From what you have said on other occasions, I have the feeling that Santa Barbara must be very similar to the beach area of ​​Mojacar. Although one of the things I miss here and that you have in your coastal towns are those beautiful wooden piers (very few towns in Spain have such piers). By the way, one of my first tours on my channel was to the old town of Mojacar, in case you haven't seen it yet and are curious. @@WalkingSpain The architecture in SB is very much like Mojacar. It was always described as Mediterranean, and I wasn't quite sure what that was until I moved there. I always just thought of it as Spanish. Then when I started watching your videos, so much of it reminded me of SB. (I know, I say that often. 🙂) One thing SB has which isn't very Mediterranean is a big, wooden pier that you can drive or walk out on with restaurants and shops. And you get a great view of the foothills of the city and the mountains that rise up behind it. I might check out the early video of Mojacar. I think I started watching your channel when you first started, so it might be interesting to see if I remember that video, or if I started watching after that one.

I hope the arrival of September isn't too hard there 😄 I'm glad you enjoyed a day at the beach 😉👍 (although in reality it's two since I filmed the first part of the tour next to the lagoon on a different day than the rest) You're right, that area is very popular with families especially at sunset. Another fun thing about this place (although it doesn't appear on the tour) is that the entire lagoon is full of crabs on the shore and there are always children with fishing nets trying to catch them. Those chairs you mention were there because a musical performance was going to start, it really is a great place to attend a show of this type. I agree with you, the beach is huge, it must be about 6 or 7 kilometers of beach (about 4 miles). I also thought that one of those dogs would cross my path while I was passing by, so I went carefully, although with a simple use of my squeaky brakes they would have run away in fear 😆 (by the way, this bike is the same one I used on my previous tour of Garrucha, which is very close to there) You are right, although that type of narrow streets are very common in historic towns, it is not very frequent in this type of tourist residential areas, that is why I found it curious and decided to include it in the tour 😆 It would have been an unusual end to the tour if I had been run over by that boat.
