I started skating at 59. Most people are WAY younger than I am. So I don’t worry about what I can’t do, because at least I’m doing something at my age. That’s an accomplishment and I wonder how many people around me will be taking up a new sport at 59… 😊

Great progression tutorial but the end result is "cross pulls", where one foot lifts off the ground. Cross overs involve alternating lifting the feet off the ground.

I can get the right over left fine...but the left over right I'm awful at. The right to left feels natural, but the left over right feels like my right leg suddenly triples in size and prevents my left leg from going anywhere.

This may be a dumb question, but if you are beginner (aka slower) how do you navigate coming off the rink floor safely from the beginner area when the floor is full and everyone on the outside is skating so fast? Thanks!

I fell and guy in 30s looked back and smiled/ laughed. I got right back laughed too and kept it moving. People will laugh and be immature but, it’s part of the journey. I just sprained my left ankle. Each time you fall you fall better and learn new things. I love how freeing skating feels. Thanks for video as beginning skater over 30 :)
