I discovered ZAO in ’98 with their album Where Blood and Fire Bring Rest. It was life-changing. They are probably the only band from my youth that I still revisit 26 years later at 37 years old.

Excellent! Favorite ZAO track - If These Scars Could Speak - starts at 9:27. Back in the day, labels would put out mixed CD’s of their band’s best tracks. That was the one, on one of those $3 cd’s, that made me a fan.
