Hello Everyone, today we will see how to optimize UE5 widgets by not using the binding in the designer panel and replace them with function.
Then we will add the weight variable in the Inventory and we will see how to filter the inventory by the Category of the item.

Hello ! There is a little weird bug when I was creating the function for the filtering, Unreal wants to put the function into a enumerator 0, to fix it you just need to rename the input "Category" to "CategoryToFilter". I don't know why but having the input named as "Category" will make Unreal want to put the function into the enumerator 0 I will show it in the next video

Your mouse moves so fast sometimes, its hard to see what you are clicking on or right clicking on. Can you not move your mouse so fast. I've tried pausing and going frame by frame and its still hard. 5-6 minutes part is good example esp when you rename the IK retargeter to UEFN or something without explaining why you are doing that exactly.

Salut, merci pour l'abonnement :) Ce n'est pas prévu, je vais voir pour ajouter la fonctionnalité, tu voudrais que si l'objet existe déjà dans l'inventaire, on pose l'ancien item sur le sol et on ajoute le nouvel item à sa place ? Je peux faire une petite vidéo juste pour montrer ça ;)

Franchement très rapide, oui effectivement ce serait bien de mettre en place que si l’objet est identique à l’inventaire que l’objet au sol, soit pris et remplacé par celui qui est déjà possédé… Limite avec une animation un peu à la (Fortnite) . Un remplacement en somme :)

This is a very nice looking UI. However, there is one problem. You are doing functionality logic in the widget blueprint itself, this is bad practice as it is very bad for optimization. Also, calculating the player pickups and management will get much bigger, it should all be done either on the character or a component. Aside from that the way the UI looks is great work. I know this works well for you to get clicks/views, but you really shouldn't be spreading and encouraging bad practices that potential developers will need to completely scrap if they want to use this in a working game. I mean, if they just make it and then have to scrap all or most of the work, what's the point? It's a net negative for end users to follow practices that will lead to a dead end.
I do know that we shouldnt put logic inside the widget but there is little logic there, only the logic to show the inventory, every action on the inventory is inside the inventory component, but displaying the inventory has to be in the inventory widget.
@@NicolasNosedaDev Yeah I guess you're right, as refreshing the items is kinda stuck to the widget. I just looked and I'm doing that on my old inventory. Although I think there could be a way to have the component handle it and push the data to the widget without having to use a loop in the widget itself. Either way the work is looking good. What features do you have planned for the future of this series? Replication maybe? I didn't know it was a series until I checked out your video page, maybe think about numbering them in the titles?

What is the problem that you are facing ? You need to have an animation for your character holding the gun then spawn a gun and attach it to a socket on that character ;) I can make a tutorial video on how to setup that if you want

Yes you can but you will have to tweak the climbing movement otherwise it will look weird ;)

for some reason i am not getting the grass layer to come up as your material blueprint and will not allow me to paint the dirt layer in im in unreal 5.5
Sometimes the material doesnt get rebuild and you cannot see it in the paint brush of the landscape, try to close and reopen the project, otherwise try to change the material on the landscape then put back your landscape material

Hey man, I have a problem. I've created a template user widget called "MarkerWidget" with a binded text inside. This marker widget is implemented in an actor as a widget component. "Space" is set to "Screen" and because of the location of its actor it appears at the world location of the actor in my level. I have multiple actors of the same type with the same widget component inside. Each of them display the same text. Now I want each of those actor to display a diferent text stored inside of them. And for that I want to edit the widget component from the owner actor, ruled by its binded text in the reference "MarkerWidget". You show us how to do one UI assignement for one actor but not serval from one UI. I look foreward to your reply 👍👍👍👍 Thanks.
Hello, It will be the same type of thing as doing it for one actor and one widget, if you canot set a structure you can just add a variable in the widget called textToDisplay and bind the text to that variable next you go to your actor and call the set textToDisplay on the widget and it should show it 😁 let me know if you have any issue 😉
