They installed the bed rack on that sport because if it was installed on a offroad or offroad premium it would push the prices up even higher but some dummy will buy it unfortunately 🤷‍♂️

I have a 3rd gen Tacoma great little truck, anytime I see the 4gen looks like extremely cheap base model of a frontier. The front end looks wimpy, definitely a downgrade.

The ARB bed rack is probably a better quality than the vehicle.

$6k off for TRD offroad with MAX motor at the local dealership in Ok. Trucks been there for over 90 days....

I was excited for these trucks when they were first revealed. Especially the manual trans. The more I researched them and then the pricing was released, I lost interest. These aren’t bad trucks, but they just don’t stack up to the competition. Should be the cheapest in the segment, but they’re the most expensive. Got a nicely equipped Canyon AT4 ($46k msrp) for ~$41k through our fleet account. A comparable Tacoma would have been at least $10k more for an inferior truck, and would not have been able to order exactly how I wanted. Again, I think the Tacoma is a great truck, but the prices are absurd for what you get compared to the competition.

There are only three 2024 Tacomas that have had transmission problems. That is .005% of all the Tacomas that have been sold. I’ve only seen one video of an upper shock mount failure on the 2024 Tacoma and it failed because the suspension tests were so extreme. Did you see that video? I sold my Army Green 2021 TRD Sport for $38,000 a month ago and bought a Blue Crush Metallic 2024 Tacoma Off Rd with the Premium Package at $3,440 below MSRP. The new Tacoma is so much better than my 3rd gen. It’s faster, gets better mileage, handles better and is so much more comfortable to drive. I’ve only got 580 miles on my new truck and have had one problem with it. The Bluetooth connection for Apple Car Play fails to connect sometimes. Others have reported this problem also. I could use a data/charge cable from my phone, and I have, but Bluetooth works most of the time.

Don't sell or trade the 3rd gen you will regret it. December of 22 I bought the last 2023 TRD off-road model entirely to avoid the new generation at least for 3 years but most likely won't ever come around to the 4-cylinder turbo

I love the looks of the new Tacoma 👍 it looks way better looking than the 3rd gen . I own a 3rd gen 2017 trd off road. And it doesn't bother me to tell it like it is . I've test driven the 8 speed and the manual 2024 it is a way better riding truck and way more get up and go than my 3rd gen. And I will be buying one in due time!

2021 Off-road long bed, fully loaded, and out the door for just under $41k … I wanted to like the new Gen Tacomas, but no, I’m super happy with my truck. The new ones with all the glitter and tech just look cheap, given the issues (I’d never buy first year of a new Gen) it would be a cold day before I went in on a 4 banger to haul my boat. If they start offering the previous 6 cylinder drive train in the new truck, I might think about it.. discounted by $12k of course 🤔

I would just buy those imported used Keitora mini trucks from Japan. (Kei trucks). They can be bought here for like 4K. Will last forever and are simple as heck. Put the 38,000 dollars you will save in the bank.

Toyota's 8-speed has been a problem since 2017 when it was put in the Highlander. It was also a problem in the Camry. Toyota has been trying to make that transmission work right for 8 years. I get Toyota not giving up on making it work like it's supposed to but for how long and to what loss of reputation? My 2020 Camry turned me from a Toyota fan boy to I might never buy another Toyota product after learning how the company takes care of the customer. The Tundra engine wasn't the fist of the bad engines. Tens of thousands of the 2.5's were also replaced if patching it with block sealer didn't work. They lied and hid it. Toyota tried to patch mine behind my back. If it wasn't for a over filled coolant reservoir, spillage, car delivered at running temp a couple mins after arriving to pick i tup and a weird smell, I might not have noticed it.

The new Tacomas are such a disappointment. Ive bought 3 different Toyotas in the last 7 years. Unfortunately don’t plan on buying another anytime soon.

When I purchased my Nissan Frontier this year I didn't consider Toyota because of the V6 Tundra engine and Tacoma transmission problems.

HAHA, Doom & Gloom... The price is what it is, due to inflation. As for the options, Toyota & Dealerships need to figure that out, as people should have an option for packages installed and not be forced into what is "delivered". Gotta say, love my TRD Pro though!

First, Trump should learn about the effects on the tariffs. Now, when we want to purchase a Tacoma, we Americans will be paying for this mistake.

More power, more torque, more payload, more tech. Better brakes and suspension, wider, and quieter cabin. Acoustic glass, heated and cooled seats, and you all want that for 15k less. GM and Ford aren’t any cheaper, if you want the goodies. I owned a 3rd gen Taco, and it was a dog on power. Most other midsize trucks have gone with the 4cyl. As well, and don’t think that’s gonna change. Everyone complained when Ford went to the eco boost, and it’s still around. Go buy a Maverick, or get a simple SR5 with no bells or whistles, that’s about as affordable as you can get. The Frontier isn’t without its problems either, for the people playing that tune. The price of vehicles in general have gone nuts. Truck owners in general sure like to bitch and moan, don’t we. lol.

Buy and keep it forever so you don’t need to worry about bad resale value now. If Turbo blows you just pay another 20k to fix it and continue driving. Beautiful sports car. If you live alone and have no friends, it doesn’t matter back seat is so tiny or not. Go and get it~
