Can we get a video discussing what are some must read books, that you found very useful? Mindset, investing, wealth maintenance, negotiation, habits, time management, communication, team work, sales/marketing/persuasion
Hey josh, Im from and I really want to get into MIT but I don’t have done any olympiads only have good gpa’s and also may perform well in SAT & Language test. I’m thinking of taking a gap year so what to build or do (except olympiads) to get accepted, PLZ BRO HELP ME I WANT MIT UNDERGRAD 😢
This is out of touch as if it’s within everyone’s reach to get into a top university
I don't believe you have much corporate experience; you used "him or her" instead of "they". Unsubscribed.
Great vid. Would be interesting to see some examples of companies you think are likely to start suffering from these agency problems you've pointed out. Seems like it's infected microsoft already and google mighty be on the cusp of being bloated and poorly managed. What about Apple?
GOOD LUCK GOOD CONTENT!

Hi Josh! lovely video. Given your extensive experience in investment banking, how about a video related to the best way to network at an IB event and make the best first impression? That's I think something that most students struggle with in university because not enough is talked about the importance of networking
Interesting topic. Right now we are trying to get through Black Friday and Christmas on the Tech channel. So perhaps after that
You're a great inspiration, I love these types of videos
More are coming!
Hey Josh, deeply inspired by your story as I took a similar plunge. Quitting management consulting (was at PE & M&A teams in NYC before moving back to Toronto) I ended up starting a marketing growth agency that’s been picking up steam lately. As part of this, I’ve been trying to buy laptops for a few of my hires and came across your magnificent lunar lake video (no engineering background but always loved semiconductor space and was a pc master race gamer growing up). PS ended up with a few 125U Lenovo Yoga 7i. Fast enough, windows, and the battery life+touchscreen! Your story is just crazy inspiring to me. Is there any chance at all we can just connect and have a casual chat? I’d love to hear more of your story directly from yourself.
I'd be open to this, but my aim is to help as many people as possible. So if you are ok with it being recorded for the channel then potentially

I am a girl who wants to go into MIT. but they regect me . I think because I am Asian . Is this true
No it is not. There were many asian girls in my class
Wow, what an amazing story with the insurance CEO!
It was pretty cool!
The influencers and RUclipsrs you mentioned in the beginning of the video are mostly correct who are saying going to a university is not worth it. Going to a University is not worth it for most except for studying medicine, law, engineering, business or finance. Most are studying communications, social sciences and humanities, which are on the lower income ladder. When you take out the top 10% of college graduates, the earnings average of college graduates is actually lower than those who don't go to college. The doctors, engineers and lawyers skew this number with their higher income and makes it appear as though average college graduate earnings are higher. There are 11 million job openings as we speak in North America that do not require a college degree. There are apprenticeships to become plumbers, welders, electricians, etc. that do not require a college degree offering an entrance salary of $80,000. Imagine being in this position making $80,000 a year salary without the massive college debt that will be incurred by taking the steps pushed in this video. The average 2024 in-state tuition per year is $26,000 and $36,000 out-of-state which equates to over $100,000 of college debt for these 20-22-year-olds, of which half will not even take jobs that they went to school for and will most likely be making loan payments for 10-15-20+ years. When 52% of college graduates get jobs out of college that don't require them to have a degree with that amount of debt, it deflates many of your traditional talking points in your video about the benefits/importance of a college degree. It would be responsible for you to present the other side to your audience as well by making another video about the benefits of not going to a university and doing an apprenticeship or doing things like running a RUclips channel like you do, that appears to be doing very well, that does not require a college degree. This would be in line with how you present hardware on your channel where you thoroughly present the pros and cons and, in this video, you did not present many, if any cons of a pursuing a degree so your audience can make an educated decision about this topic. You mention benefits such as expanding your horizon (which is quite silly to use as a benefit of a college degree), valuable connections, learning current best practices, getting to learn what you like.... can you not get these same benefits by doing internships and apprenticeships while doing the actual tasks you want to do for a living? Can you not "learn how to perform" by doing an internship at an HVAC company for free or even getting paid while doing the real hands-on work and working alongside real world professionals and potential employers and contacts...all while not incurring debt to do so? You can "get valuable connections" by going to a workshop or trade show for free with a high concentration of industry professionals with which you want to surround yourself. Almost every point you made does not require attending a university and telling your viewers they should physically attend a university because you think they cannot find the information online themselves or that they have short attention spans is pretty insulting and condescending and wearing a suit and tie to make your points does not establish credibility. Assuming that the reason your viewers "can't watch your videos for more than a couple of seconds" is a problem on their end and not that they just may not like your content is also quite condescending. This video really sounded more like a propaganda video for government subsidized college loans than a statistically accurate argument for taking on massive amounts of debt for mostly little return on your investment to obtain a degree. For the most part, current day universities are a money-making scheme by the elites, government and big banks and is more about the money and less about equipping young adults to be successful in a field. With debt being such a massive crisis in our country, we should be very careful encouraging people to enter into such a journey that enslaves them into this debt.
This was gold!
Thank you
Is 4-5 months of career gap also a problem with recruiters or ignorable by HR when shortlisting, please advise And that job i left bcz i didn't like
It was great to see you one of your interests is being an Australian citizen. Mine too!
Hey Josh, you're such an inspiration! Im so happy for you, you look much happier now. Keep killin it my friend, that's what you do best. Miss you Joshy, take care xo
Thanks Cat
I admire you giving up your high paying job and business to help others with your RUclips channels.
Thank you so much
Thank you so much, your video helps me decide my life path -/\-
Good to hear!
THIS IS ABSOLUTE GOLD.
Thank you
Hi Josh, just discovered this channel after commenting on your last lunar lake review :) subscribed, it all seems interesting ! What are your thoughts on online certificates delivered by MIT ? As someone from France who already has a bachelors and masters in management, financial planning and analysis... i'm intersted in digital transformation certificate they offer but it costs around 30K, and i'm not really sure if it's worth it... and with it all being "only a certificate" would it really be that much of an upgrade on the resume ? Thanks in advance for your advice !
That seems alot for a certificate. I'd be cautious. Certificates deliver education but as you've right said, they don't deliver the clout of a degree nor do they deliver the same networking opportunities. I'd say most recruiters and hiring managers would ignore them. So its really a question of... is the learnings alone worth $30K
Hi Josh, I can closely relate with your standardized testing struggles. At one point, during CE undergrad, it felt that exam after exam I could go in knowing the material front & back, only to let myself down and be left wondering what had just happened/if I even belonged. That mental impasse that would present itself, unbreakable. It wasn’t that I couldn’t function under pressure, on the contrary. Standardized testing had this effect. Open response exams were/are my preference. Thank you for sharing Josh,
Thanks for sharing too
thank you so much for this advice josh , your such a good person and you help me from this doubt , you are inspiration of many people and helper of us , i hope see you soon in mexico
Thanks for sharing this story, truly inspirational. I would like to know more about your experience during the MBA, the courses, your professors and how you coordinate between job and school.
Thanks for the video, I was also thinking about something similar the other day about for when the time comes how would I potentially apply to universities outside the UK for PhD's. Also I was wondering how comes you never mention the name of the bank you worked at despite it being publicly known on LinkedIn?
Thanks for sharing ! Can you please help me how can I find alumni or studying groups while studying abroad? Similar like you I got a spot for master degree in bologna university in 2nd call , i was kind of late for preparing documents but I did them before deadline. This week I started lessons and first day first lesson I realized that the way of teaching was very different than schools back in my country and I haven't studied in my country the same subjects so I realized that I am gonna have a very difficult time keeping the pace with others . I got very sad and desperate the first day I went home and I couldn't eat , the tears started falling from my eyes , I thought I am never gonna pass this class (machine learning) because I don't know python while I am supposed to know it in order to programm machine learning. I just am anxious now I feel like I will disappoint my parents and myself . I come from a poor country and this was like a dream for me and a hope for a better life . Can you give me any advise how to deal with those difficulties. Thank you for sharing this video was in the right moment for me.
I don't understand those questions getting into MIT is very easy you just have to walk through a front door😂😂
💀💀💀💀
Super motivating I should say
Your academic and professional journey is truly commendable 👏👏 Keep going, mate!
Hi Josh, I’d love to watch your video about how to move from a very basic role and climb up. Thanks for this amazing video! “It makes my mum happy” cuz she gave me full financial support to get a uni degree in Australia. Yup, Australia. This video really helped me to identify my strength of having a degree. 😊
This is a good idea. I want to do one next "How to get promoted from Individual Contributor to Manager"
As a non-native english speaker, i found the verbal part of a GMAT so difficult even with a TOEFL score of 99/120 at the time. While i did well in the numerical part, my 40% score in verbal lowered my score to 580 « only ». It was 10 years ago, i don’t know if the scoring system is structured the same way, but my advice to the foreigners is not to underestimate this part as I did. I wish i could have seen this video 10 years ago to follow Josh’s advice and focus on my weaker point instead of my strength. Peace ✌️
never had been here earlier but despite that your story is really inspiring, and I can see the amount of effort you like to put in by the way you speak alone, Thanks for sharing your story Josh, and your grind to MIT is really motivational
UNSW slander is insane, some sources rank us 20th worldwide :(
Can you cover how your master's degree helped you? How did it influence your career or your life? Do you feel you needed to do it before your mba?
Awesome ,thanks man 👍🏻
This is priceless knowledge
Great video! Here's an interesting question - how do you balance doing an MBA/Masters with family life and other responsibilities? Also, how did you fund it, scholarships or did you pay for it yourself? For context, I graduated from Imperial College London with a Masters in Aerospace Materials and currently work as an SDET. I would love to do another Masters in either CompSci or an MBA, but I struggle with balancing everything and especially funding my studies
Josh thank you, you are cooking with these videos. Very inspiring and also actually useful tips. As a software developer myself who just started a professional career, I would love to hear more from you about how a junior software dev can move up the ladder quickly and improve their career opportunities, be it working multiple jobs, earning certifications or applying for masters. Thank you!
Moving up the ladder is all about making connections and how you deal with humans and internal politics vs technical skills. This is a harsh truth, but the truth
Thank you for sharing, Josh. These videos are genuinely helping people like myself at the start of their careers make decisions that will have large impacts on their life. It’s important to note that success without a big university on your CV is more than possible, and you do not have to attend an Ivy League university to be accomplished in life. It took you a bit of a luck and obviously a lot of hard work, but it is amazing seeing where you are now and I look forward to seeing the JustJosh tech channel grow!
Thank you for sharing your experience! Big props to the CEO for showcasing such humility in his position, very inspirational
Josh, thank you for sharing. These are a joy to watch, keep them coming!
great video josh! happy to land in your chanel!
This video has been incredibly enlightening. As both a consumer and someone who appreciates well-made products, I've personally experienced many of the poor practices highlighted. It's fascinating to gain a deeper technical understanding of why these issues arise. This newfound knowledge also makes me even more appreciative of companies that create quality products. It's a clear sign of strong internal synergy and everyone fulfilling their roles effectively.
Please Please Please, make a video on how you got into MIT...

i am 11 years old , im living in mexico and my parents are korean, please show me who you get to MIT please , i want to be a hardware engineer and i always see your videos , please help me

Does this apply to any industry or mostly banking? Ex: IT, Marketing, Accounting?
