This popped up while i was debating with myself whether I should donate to a syrian appeal or not. Allah will question us about everything he has blessed us with. How can I sit on a comfortable chair, with a laptop, on a lavish desk, in a beautiful room, in a beautiful house, in a beautiful peaceful and safe country, have enough to take holidays out of this country as i please, when muslim children don't even have food to break their fast during ramadan? Syria is in its 8th year of war. Millions of people have been displaced. They have lost their homes and family members. Many families are struggling to gain the basic needs for survival.
We are collecting funds to make iftar (the meal for breaking the fast) in Syria this Ramadan.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast, he will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.”
(Tirmidhi, Sunan Ibn Majah)
Our goal is to raise $10, 000 in order to provide thousands of meals for the Syrian people.
By helping them. You are also helping yourself in receiving the rewards of thousands of fasts. Yet you only fast those 30 days.
Some of us have meals in expensive restaurants and we know when it's time to break our fast the food will be on the table and ready. But there are so many poor people that don't even know if they will eat that day!
