Thanks for the advice regarding wet wading, it makes sense. I see you spend a lot of time fishing, and as for everyone, the most important piece of equipment is the waders. From my personal experience, try the Simms G4 Pro previous model, or Simms G3 wading pants, you will surely go cheaper, because they certainly last at least three times longer than the others. The G4 leaked for the first time in 7 years on average 3 times a week in fishing on mountain rivers and streams in Bosnia. Thanks for the great fishing shots.
Regards
Milan
I've had both of the Pro waders and Pro boots for over a year now, and have had no problems, the Pro boots in my opinion have no equal, as a guide, I believe that both are worth every cent you pay for them.
Hey Alex ! Iam a big fan of orvis and iam picking up a pair of those boots they look bad ass !! Great video bro !!
ALEX thanks for all the tips & the foot trick.. BOB..
Hay nice video bro and any chance of you got and old video of finishing waihaha as if Fisher the river moth but not river but keen to give it a go
Love my orvis pro boots.
Take a hammering spring, summer,Autumn and winter.
Good stuff man, they are pretty good aye
Aha so maybe try some Hawkes Bay rivers we don't have a problem with what you put up with and the fish here fight just as well and difficult to catch too sometimes but I guess that's fishing Fishing not catching is the thing!!
Great tips Alex. Irving didn't seem to care though. Another good middle of the road wader is the Patagonia Skeena. My Patagonia foot tractors are falling apart though. I will definitely keep those Orvis in mind.
Yeah those Patagonia boots don’t last long! Seen heaps fall to bits now...
Great review. I wear the Orvis Ultralight boots with the Pro waders. Keep an eye out for the soles coming unglued. I've run into that recently after about a year of use on my Ultralights, and I'm hearing it is a challenge with the Pro boots as well.
Thanks man. Yeah I’ve heard the same
Lekker video. Thanks Alex😀👍
Cheers man
Excellent review and advice... Just excellent!
Thanks bro
Korkers Darkhorse, hands down awesome boots
Missed this one until now. Any suggestions about hiking/fishing trips when most of the miles are out of the water, and one doesn't want to hike in or carry wading boots? Also, what were you doing in the jungle, and how was the fishing there? Last, as a US resident, fly fishing and rugby fan, please fix it so one can fish and watch the All Blacks at home in one visit. That's all for now...
I have the skagit boots and they have held up well for a year and a half and are decent for comfort.
Good to know man, thanks!!
Hi Alex great clip thanks for sharing.
It's just an idea but when you get holes in the waders do you mend them? If you do maybe a Friday filler on how to patch the holes.
Hey dude,
Most of the holes are tiny pin pricks or seams that wear away so I don’t tend to try and patch them. Especially the pin prick holes from gorse - there ends up being hundreds!!
So I usually just retire them and move on..
Great video Alex just bought me a pair of the redington prowler boots now time to save up for the waders
How are you finding the Prowler boots Scott?
They are pretty comfortable they are pretty durable to and I think the tread I think is pretty close to those Skagit boots
loving that hoodie😁
You should get one...😉
Alex, Love these fillers...been wondering about something and this FF made me think of it. Do you guys ever use the boots that have aluminum bars on the soles? Love 'em up here but curious about NZ. Also, for base layer thermals, ever try bicycle pants? They look like they'd be similar in flexibility and warmth (and dry quickly). Finally, thanks for the petroleum jelly suggestion. Hate blisters. Thanks, bro...
Yeah the foot tractors are grippy as hell but also noisy and very 'skate' when boulder hopping. Also have seen those boots fall apart super quick on 4 different occasions, in two seperate countries so far..
This turned out to be more entertaining than expected; liked!
If everyone wants cheap waders which are comfortable and last long, why don't/can't manufacturers make them?
How long did those waders and boots last? Are you still using them, by any chance?
Is Irwin still around?
Thermal leggings, made specifically of polypropylene, or do you not care if they are polyester?
The Vaseline tip sounds interesting. I have a buddy who jungle guides in Borneo and will pass it on. How many days in a row were you feet wet in the forest and how often and how thoroughly did you get to dry out in between?
Thanks for this video. Good stuff.
I don’t care too much bro - just whatever works really. I was in Bolivia for 3 months, feet wet all day, every day. Rotated 2 pairs of boots constantly, dried and powdered my feet every day and did everything right.
Got it bad once and then started Vaseline and BOOM, no more problems!
Hi there just caught this. Interested in what type "socks" (Brand) you wear that go with the Simms wading Socks. I have 3 very purple toe nails from my last trip I figure these socks will add that bit of extra padding so I do not hammer my toes so badly.

Hey Alex. Its been 11 or 12 months, so how about the update you mentioned on the Orvis Pro wading boots please? Some reviewers complain about the soles detaching. Thanks Mark V
Roger that. I’ll get to it
Any chance you have a new discount code?Would love to pick up a pair of Orvis Pro boots per your reviews.
I’m sorry but I don’t no. I’ll look into getting another one though🤙
hi, very nice video. I am a real fan of your vids. What pants for wet wading do you use? tight lines, andreas
Thanks man!! They are just base layer thermal leggings
Can't go wrong with Greys Strada
Hola megustaria que tus videos tubieran traduccion
Are the neoprene booties waterproof?
Man thats some monies worth of gear in that locker room! those Orvis boots look the business, UK price about £225/435 NZD... have to speak to Santa nicely!!
Tell me about it dude🤦♂️ I don’t even wanna think about it!!
Just be a good boy and you get lucky (and get some boots too)😆
How would you recommend sizing the boots with standard neoprene socks? Same size as Street shoes?
Yep, that’s what I do🤙
Lol and he's trying to act cute as well. Love your videos!!
He does love attention..😆
Thanks heaps, great that you like them!
Hey Alex I assume that it is the blackberry bushes that are destroying your waders so I suggest you pack your waders in a back pack and put them on when you reach the river.cheers
BlackBerry, gorse, bush lawyer, sticks, boulders, rocks and mostly it’s when I’m on the river and trying to navigate ways around and through them so taking them on and off isn’t an option. It’s all good, it just goes with the territory🤷♂️
@@TrippinOnTrout It pisses me off to think that Blackberry and Gorse were introduced to NZ from the UK and has run rampant over the whole country. Whenever I walk up the path from the Stag Pool to the Cattle Rustlers and see 30ft deep of blackberry either side of the path I wonder how much nicer it would be with native fauna.
Where did you buy Redington waders in NZ? Cheers

My Orvis Pro boots fell apart in 6 months
Shit that’s no good man. You get in touch with them...?
@@TrippinOnTrout The Orvis dealer would not do anything .I will not go to his shop anymore. Orvis said they would take a look but it was in the middle of fishing season so I fixed with shoe goo . Ill buy some Simms this spring when the goo fails. The shoe goo worked pretty well.
@@markstierstorfer9179 Yeah I would prob have done the same there bro.
Simms are great boots 🤙
450$ boots...ummm no Sir.
