EM… do yourself a favor, watch Alan Ross’ s video on the motion boom vs the x10… you have to “Customize “ the EQ settings…. The boom is a bass oriented speaker.. the x10 and most w king speakers emphasize the mids and highs. The boom has no tweeters, but if you use the app…. Custom EQ,which you didn’t use in this video, you can emphasize the crisper mids and highs…. Like I said earlier, watch Alan Ross’s video on it , he gives a detailed explanation of the sound ranges of both speakers. I’m not saying anything negative against the x 10…. Hell, I’d like to pick one up…. But don’t count out the boom until you see Ross’s detailed analysis, you might change your mind.

Thanks for watching video man! Honestly I don’t claim to be the expert. @@lymedog3176 Just seen it. But yeah Alan Ross is definitely the go to for the 411 on portable bluetooth speakers. He does the comparisons, break down positives and weaknesses of a speaker, and let you hear samples so you can judge for yourself.

i have all 3 of these speakers and idk if your boom is broken or defective because the motor booms bass is garbage in comparison to the motion booms, its all upper bass. the boom hits 38hz in my testing, the motor boom doesnt go below 60hz. just pathetic. I also have the Wking X10. its one of my favorites for power however the motion boom still has cleaner deeper bass. maybe not as powerful but definitely deeper and richer, it does not take an audiophile to hear the motion boom is the better speaker of the three. comparing the motor boom to the motion boom is like comparing a bmw M5 to a subaru crosstrek. one is good quality and fast and one is super unreliable and breaks down all the time and slow af.
I agree with your sentiments. Majority of buyers don't really EQ and according to market research that's why Anker tried to put some preset (extra bass) built-in to somewhat make it usable. The funny part is most comments about products like speakers are, "Why can't it just be good when you buy it? Why do I need to tinker with it for it to be usable?". Also, looking at the stuff the app asks for permission isn't really making people to want to install it. So I would agree that reviewing them at face value or at default is a fair process to use as anything can pretty much be EQ-ed for each person's preference so it's really a moot point no?
I have never compared the boom to the x10 But I did compare it to the d9. The d9 was louder but was only good at extremely high volumes, and only on one of its two EQ presets. The boom was just so much more versatile and sounded so much more better at inside volume.
agreed! i have both the x10 and motion boom inside the house? boom low bass is deep. but outdoors jamming max? definatley the x10!! no comparison outdoors!!
I had a sony xb 43 and I returned it, it was heavy and difficult to manipulate, the sound .... so and so, it didn't excel at anything, only the lights were good !!! :)) I got Motion Boom, the sound over Sony, lighter and easier to handle thanks to the handle. Appearance ... depends on taste. What would you choose ??? !! Aaaa, if you keep doing reviews, informed in advance about all the ways of operating the product! It's like getting a camera with a lot of features in manual mode, but you only use it in auto mode! LOL
Fair point…. However those were actual prices on Amazon at the time I reviewed it… as a matter of fact I just checked it now and Anker is $109 on Amazon with no discount.
I know the W-King T9 is in a different category to the speakers mentioned in this vid, mainly because of the form factor. With that said though how does the T9 compare sound wise?
It’s very room filling because of the larger drivers and ports. If size is not a concern, I really like the T9. I have used the speaker in outdoor gatherings in parks and having one is just enough with the volume and base.
@@EnforcerMan Right now the loudest speaker I have is 30w. The Tribit StormBox Pro was 40w but I sold it. The T9 isn’t weather proof which is the only thing giving me second thoughts
Soundcore motion plus is still the best speaker for the size. If you ever get on to review u will be blown away with the sound that comes out concerning its size. To me it is the loudest and the best between the soundcore motion series.
@@kevindanielgarciacarrion9420 "I have both and motion boom is way better" My thoughts exactly. I was expecting Motion Boom to be the winner for bass and volume whereas Motion Plus would win for detailed, high quality sound for serious listening. To my surprise, I prefer Motion Boom even for indoor, close-up, lower-volume, serious listening. I did not think this would be possible with Boom's lack of tweeters, but in my opinion, somehow Anker achieved this. Bear in mind I am not at all saying I don't like Motion Plus, or that Motion Plus is not a great speaker. I'm just saying after owing Boom for a while I stopped listening to my Plus!
My thoughts exactly. After trying Motion boom for a few hours, I decided couldn't live without sound clarity of Motion+, decided to buy a 2nd Motion+ instead and paired them together. My bass problem was solved. You can't fake or replace 2 dedicated tweeters no matter what EQ settings you use. Motion Boom also lacks a very important feature for audiophiles, AptX codec support like Motion+ has it. If you can't notice the difference in audio quality then you're better with Motion boom or any other low price JBL Xtreme 3 wannabe in the market(W-King, Zealot, Bugani, etc). I use my Motion+'s for interiors only. Will wait until Anker releases a Motion Boom Pro with 2 dedicated tweeters, AptX codec and USB-A port for charging, then I will buy two of them.
I bought the motion+ over the boom due to my need for portability (I travel a lot) and due to the hype the + has traditionally received, I was surprised and disappointed with its lack of deep bass. I'm now thinking maybe I should have gone for the boom and sacrificed portability. Should I just get the boom or is there something else that gets the best of both words (or as close to as possible); the mids and highs of the + with the deep bass of the boom?
X10 is $115 with discout nd the boom is $105. The x10-1 is louder then the soundcore boom even with the eq but the highs are too sharp but but I do agree the soundcore doesn't sound as clear in the highs but great enough nd jus as low bass as the x10. And soundcore is capable of being submerged in water unlike the x10 nd has app support so to say which is more valuable mmm idk thts hard
Lol…. There are still many people who disagree with me… you could love ‘em 😎 And don’t get me wrong they are great speakers… I just think (and still do) that the X10 is a better speaker for the money… let me know what you think when you get ‘em
